Cons Posts Full “Slowhealer” EP

After we premiered latest song “The Burden Of Knowing Why,” Tuscon hardocre group Cons is now streaming full debut EP “Slowhealer” in the player below.

Cons, formerly known as Coma Prevail, recently signed to Revival Recordings, home to Alesana, Famous Last Words, and The Funeral Portrait. With an updated lineup, change in vocal style, and a fresh wave of creative energy, the band has opened a new chapter of its musical career.

“Slowhealer” is officially due out August 11th and was recorded, produced, and mixed by Beau Burchell (Saosin, It Prevails, Emery). The EP aims to capture the angst of a band having gone through the death of their friends and both the regrets and triumphs of growing up disenfranchised in a small desert city.

Guitarist Jeremy Talley expands, “We write about things that are interesting or troubling to us…we try to provide a light at the end of the tunnel if there’s a way to positively spin something without having to force it.

“We recorded ‘Slowhealer’ almost 2 years ago and had plans to self release and basically give it away just to get our music out there. That being said we couldn’t be more honored and stoked to release this through Revival. It brings a sense of validation to what we’ve been working so hard on, to have a great label show interest and pick up the reins and give it the proper release that we feel it deserves. Thank you to everyone involved in this with us. We can’t wait to get this out there and get to work. “

A Wake In Providence Posts “A Darkened Gospel” Guitar Playthrough

New York City deathcore quartet A Wake in Providence recently signed to Outerloop Records and released latest track, “A Darkened Gospel.” Last week, the band partnered with Gear Gods to kick off a series of playthrough videos, starting with a playthrough of “A Darkened Gospel” by the band’s drummer, Anthony Adipietro.

Today, a second clip comes online, this time a guitar playthrough by D’Andre Tyre. Check it out below and stay tuned for a drum playthrough of “The Imperfect: Iconoclast” coming next week.

Here is what D’Andre had to say about recording this latest clip: “Filming this playthrough was something I was hoping to do while I was writing this song. I have changed my approach to the 8 string guitar and I really wanted to showcase that in these videos. I’m so glad I got to work with my now good friend, Joe Flannery on these videos. The quality is that of films, and looks so awesome. Hopefully you guys enjoy watching it, as much as I enjoyed writing the song and filming the playthrough! Special thanks for sure to Ibanez guitars, orange amplification, Blackcraft cult and the real MVP’s over at Outerloop!”
