Bill And Phil Posts New Song “Bad Donut”

Horror icon Bill Moseley recently joined forces with extreme music legend Philp H. Anselmo for a very special collaborative release entitled Bill And Phil’s “Songs Of Darkness And Despair.” In advance of its release, today a stream of closing track “Bad Donut” comes online and can be heard below.

Set for release on January 20th, 2017 via Anselmo’s own Housecore Records, the five-track “Songs Of Darkness And Despair” was produced and performed by Anselmo and Stephen “The Big Fella” Berrigan, and mastered by Scott Hull of Visceral Sound.

The album includes guest appearances by Kevin Bond (Superjoint) on guitar, Squizzy Squires (King Parrot) on bass and guitar, and Jose “Blue” Gonzalez (Superjoint, Warbeast, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals) on percussion.

Comments Anselmo: “Working with Mr. Moseley was an awesome experience! Bill brought the lyrics and Stephen [Berrigan] and I just improvised directly on the spot, and squeezed out six tunes in three days. All the songs have a different vibe because I wanted the music to represent Bill’s lyrical vision(s), and we needed to, because Bill does indeed have a unique, visual element within his choice of words and phrasing. I love Bill Moseley, and can’t wait to work on the next one!”

Witches Mark Releases New Single “The Butcher’s Bill Comes Due”

Witches Mark just uploaded new track “The Butcher’s Bill Comes Due,” which can be heard in the YouTube player below.

Taken from a forthcoming third album, “The Butcher’s Bill Comes Due” arrives after previous single “Road Razor” released this past June, the first new studio material Witches Mark has released since last full-length album “Witching Metal Ritual” in 2013.

Guitarist and founding member Robert Williams elaborates: “After we finished playing out in support of the last record we got a little busy playing in some other bands. I joined Ignitor on guitar in January of 2015 and Robb Bockman (Guitar/Vocals) recently joined the black metal band Uada on bass and has been touring with them.

“Both band’s have been doing really well for themselves and we’ve stayed consistently busy but wherever we’d go people kept asking us about Witches Mark and we’ve always known that band was something really special so we got together over the holidays and wrote all of the material for the next album. We hope to have this new record completed by the first quarter of next year.”

Thothamon Signs To Domestic Genocide, Releases New EP

Birmingham, Alabama traditional doom trio Thothamon recently joined goat horns with the eclectic sound peddlers at Domestic Genocide Records for the release of a new EP.

Fittingly titled “Prophets Of Doom,” the analog offering was recorded in two six-hour sessions by Emanual Ellinas at Magnetic Audio Recordings Studio. The band also comments:

“We are very excited to be working with Domestic Genocide! For us, it looked like the right label to go to due to response we had heard from bands already on the label. It’s a label that works with the artist and its design and intent for the art created. We also love how there are different styles of metal on the label ranging from black to doom to blackened doom to death. This is also a label that works very hard at promoting their bands through various outlets across the metal scene. The allegiance between Thothamon and Domestic Genocide is going to be full of doom and glory for everyone involved!”

The track listing is as follows:

1. The Pass of Caradhras
2. The Doom That Came To Sarnath
3. Glory Or The Grave
4. Devil In The Deep Blue Sea
5. My Heel, Your Throat

After recently breaking its silence and then splitting with drummer Mirka Rantanen, Thunderstone announced the departure of vocalist Rick Altzi, who was forced to depart due to his obligations with Masterplan.

The announcement reads: “Thunderstone has parted ways with singer Rick Altzi, who joined the band in 2009 and is featured on the much-acclaimed album ‘Dirt Metal’. As many of you know, Rick recently joined our friends Masterplan and is currently touring with them. The band would like to thank Rick for an amazing job on ‘Dirt Metal’ and the countless fun times on tour. Cheers brother and good luck with your future endeavours!”

Rick Altzi commented: “It’s with mixed feelings that I and the rest of Thunderstone have decided to part ways. On the one hand I really loved the album ‘Dirt metal’ and feel proud of what we achieved. On the other hand I now realise I wouldn’t have had the time that a great band like Thunderstone deserves. I wish the guys a great future.”
