Obituary Announces East Coast Tour Dates

American death metal legends Obituary has announced that they will be embarking on a headlining tour of the East Coast next month, where they will be joined by Exmortus. Speaking about the tour, the band stated:

“We are super excited to announce the U.S. East Coast RedNeck Run II and are really looking forward to this. It would have been easy to set up shows in the typical cities and venues but we are not your typical band. We are looking for an adventure and something different so we have booked smaller towns and markets so the fans who don’t often have the chance to experience an OB SHOW get their chance!! We have never been to some of these cities so we are looking forward to invading them and throwing down with you guys, so hang tight and hang on to your ass because this could get crazy!!”

The tour dates are as follows:

September 1 – Carrboro, NC
September 2 – Asheville, NC
September 4 – Huntington, WV
September 5 – Baltimore, MD
September 6 – Hartforc, CT
September 7 – Reading, PA

Steamhammer/SPV Signs The Fright

The Fright, hailing from Leipzig Germany, just inked a worldwide deal with Steamhammer/SPV. The new album by the German dark rockers is already recorded and produced by the very well known Waldemar Sorychta (Lacuna Coil, Sodom, Tiamat, Moonspell, The Gathering, etc.), who created a top-notch sound for the band. The release is targeted for autumn this year. More information on this will follow soon.

Vocalist Lon Fright commented on the signing: “This band started as a vision, a dream of 12 year old kids. Now, fifteen years later you can look forward to an album that will beat the previous ones without any problems. Such a dark Diamond should be recognized. That’s why we are very happy to be part of the Steamhammer family now who can look back on decades of experience in the Rockbiz and believes in us as much as we do. The night belongs to us!”

Steamhammer A&R rep Georg Schröder added: “I’m really looking forward to our co-operation with The Fright. Bloodstock Adds 10 More Bands To 2017 Lineup

As spring creeps into summer, Bloodstock HQ is a hive of activity. The “Metal 2 The Masses” finals are well under way and plans are on track for 2017 being the biggest and best Bloodsotck yet.

Bloodstock 2017 will be held at Catton Park, Derbyshire on the 10th – 13th if August 2017. Today the organizers of the festival reveal 10 more bands added to the lineup:

Devilment declares: “Obviously the band is really looking forward to playing the festival, and as a English band it will definitely be an honour to play the main stage on what is tantamount to the best British festival out there. Babymetal To Perform With Rob Halford At Alternative Press Music Awards

Each year, the Journeys Alternative Press Music Awards fueled by Monster Energy brings fans collaborative performances from, and the 2016 APMAs will present even more. The first will feature none other than legendary heavy metal vocalist Rob Halford of Judas Priest and pop metal phenomenons and Best International Band nominees Babymetal.

Babymetal’s Su-Metal states, “I am still at a loss of what to feel, but to be able to perform together with the metal god, I am in disbelief… I know it will be an amazing experience for us and I am really looking forward to it.”

Babymetal – the breakout Japanese heavy metal/teen-pop hybrid group featuring 18 year old Su-Metal and 16 year olds Yuimetal and Moametal, backed by a four-piece band – released sophomore album “Metal Resistance: this past April (debuting atop Billboard’s “World Albums” chart and iTunes’ “Top Heavy Metal Albums” chart).

Scarred Recruits New Vocalist Yann Dalscheid

Luxembourg-based outfit Scarred just issued the following announcement about bringing on a new vocalist:

“Hello everyone! Let’s kick in the weekend with some good news alright? We would like you all to raise your glasses to Yann Dalscheid who accepted to be the new vocalist in Scarred!

“Yann is someone who has been in the Scarred family for a very long time now, we’ve shared the stage with the man many times, we all know him on a personal level and let’s be honest he was our person of choice since we parted ways with Sacha.

“We are very happy to have him with us and are really looking forward to play our first gig with him next week. We’re right now in the pain room finishing the pre-production work for our forthcoming LP and getting ready for Europavox.

Disparaged Recruits New Vocalist Marco Boehlen

Swiss death metal band Disparaged just issued the following announcement about recruiting a new vocalist:

“We’re glad to inform you that Marco Boehlen will be our new frontman. He’ll build the new front line together with Ralph, Adrian and Tom.

Throw The Fight Gearing Up To Record New Album

After “breaking up” last year, Throw The Fight is about to record a new album. The band is excited to hit the studio on November 1, 2015 with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland who have finished recent albums for August Burns Red, Texas In July, Everclear, Affiance, Live, and more.

Throw The Fight has been busy writing songs and will release this new album on Bullet Tooth in early 2016. The as-yet-untitled album is the follow-up to the John Feldmann (Atreyu, The Used) produced full0length “What Doesn’t Kill Us.”
