Heart Of A Coward Signs With Arising Empire Records; Plans To Release New Album In 2019

Arising Empire Records are proud to announce the worldwide signing of intrepid British metal quintet Heart Of A Coward. Heart Of A Coward announced the addition of vocalist Kaan Tasan to their ranks early last year, alongside the release of bruising new track “Collapse.” The band has since been busy working on new material, and are planning to release a new album in 2019.

The band stated: “We are incredibly excited to be a part of the Arising Empire family for our 4th release. Album 4 is always a difficult one and we couldn’t have picked a more supportive label to put this out for us. We look forward to seeing you all in 2019.”

Formed in Milton Keynes in 2009, Heart Of A Coward have released three albums to date; “Hope and Hindrance” (2012), “Severance” (2013) and “Deliverance” (2015). “Hope and Hindrance” was self-released – it laid down the foundations for their sound, garnering the band a reaction they’d never previously anticipated. The positive feedback spurred them on and seeded the realisation of what could be possible if they knuckled down and continued honing their craft.

Heart Of A Coward are:
Kaan Tasan (Vocals)
Carl Ayers (Guitars)
Steve Haycock (Guitars)
Vishal Khetia (Bass)
Christopher Mansbridge (Drums)

Chthonic Cult Announces “I Am The Scourge Of Eternity” Release

From formless mist emerges the Chthonic Cult and their debut album, “I Am the Scourge of Eternity,” set for international release on January 22, 2016 via Iron Bonehead Productions for the vinyl LP format.

As vocalist/guitarist Hyperborean explains, the album “is a collection of visions, visions not necessarily of my own. The character’s visions arise from meditation and from madness, from ritual and from suffering the mundane, from contemplation of the sacred light and the sacred darkness and of the decay of the world which the Gods have abandoned, from the witnessing of the face of the One who builds and destroys, who tortures and heals. The visions transgress time in the witnessing of the beginning, the end, and the countless rebirths of this despicable world, yet, since visions only they are, lead ultimately to the realisation that we are, in fact, slaves to time and its cycles, slaves that can only be redeemed by the Creator and the Destroyer and the ritual and the sacred madness that dwells in us all.”

Tape and CD versions will be out earlier on Iron Bonehead and NecroShrine, respectively. The track listing is as follows:

1. As the Void Beckons
2. The Abyss Triumphant
3. Asunder!
4. I Am the Scourge of Eternity

Apophys Reveals “Prime Incursion” Album Details

The Dutch death metal practitioners from Apophys – featuring members of God Dethroned, Prostitute Disfigurement, Detonation and Toxocara among others — are readying to release their debut full-length, “Prime Incursion,” on April 7th via Metal Blade Records. The song “Requiem For The Absurd” can be heard below.

A word derived from Apophis, an asteroid that, upon initial observations, indicated a probability that it would hit Earth on April 13th, 2029 causing a collision of immeasurable proportions, Apophys was forged in 2012 and has since been surgically carving a path within the annals of the modern death metal scene.

Mixed by vocalist Kevin Quilligan and mastered by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance etc.), the band’s forthcoming “Prime Incursion” long player boasts nine sadistic hymns of scif-fi tinged death metal centered on themes ranging from transcendental travel, rapid evolutionary progression, and global epidemics, to artificial intelligences in all-out war with their maker.

Comments Quilligan: “The thought of our planet floating through a galactic minefield makes me think about how frail our existence really is. And where some might consider this to be a negative and demotivating thought, I used this realisation to create something truly apocalyptic; a full, self-sufficient death metal machine in which I as a person am frail, but as part of this more powerful than ever. This is Apophys. We are coming.”

1. Dimensional Odyssey
2. Miscreants
3. Requiem For The Absurd
4. The Antidote
5. Ego
6. The Sentient
7. The Final Step
8. Humanity’s Epilogue
9. The Red Planet

Impaled Existence Splits With Guitarist Mikey Dykins

Guitarist Mikey Dykins of Impaled Existence has checked in with the following statement about parting ways with the band:

“After over 12 yrs and the founding member of Impaled Existence the time has finally come for me to part ways with the band. This has been a very difficult decision for me to make, unfortunately I have been finding my position in Impaled Existence stressful, I have had a lot of responsibility within the band and of late I have been finding it hard to manage with my family and work life.

“Impaled Existence have a busy schedule ahead for the next year and this has been the realisation for me that I just cannot commit enough of my time. I have seen the band come so far, from start-up as a Green Day/Metallica/Iron Maiden style cover band (And yes we were called Impaled Existence for that!) To today’s modern progressive direction. It has been a blast on all fronts, as a band and as band mates we have been through so much and this time within Impaled will be remembered until the day I die with fond memories! I wish the guys Craig, Danny, Nathan and Andy all the best for the future, and I wait with ears open on what is coming our way.

“I look forward to honoring the next 3 shows Impaled existence have coming up, a big thanks to all who have supported Impaled Existence and to those who made it possible, the promoters, the sound engineers, family. As I take a back-step from the stage I will be moving forward at live shows to see these guys!”

Impaled Existence also comments: “We wanted to add our best wishes for Mikey and state that he will always be a part of the IMEX family. We have 3 remaining shows with Mike and want you all to come and show your appreciation for all the hard work he has put into IMEX, we certainly wouldn’t have enjoyed the success we have without him.

“That being said, the cogs will not stop turning and as we speak, we are working hard on the album and we are massively excited with what the rest of 2013 will bring! More news on this and other things to follow in the coming weeks!”

Vengeful Parts Ways With Vocalist Marc-André Grenier

Canada’s Vengeful has issued the following announcement about recording new material and splitting with the band’s vocalist:

“Hello supporters! We finally comeback with news about things to come. Guitar tracking has begun for our next release. Yes we are already in the studio to bring you more death metal. For those of you that pay attention to detail, we announced several times in some of our previous updates that we recorded 22 songs during the drum sessions for Vengeful.

“The album features 12 of those tracks and we released 2 cover songs. The remaining 8 songs are comprised of the re-recording of our first album in its entirety and a medley of our 3 song-demo. So what you’ll get are more brutal and better sounding versions all the songs from Karma and Tragedy Lies Ahead.

“Those recordings will unfortunately serve as our last outings with Vengeful’s original vocalist Marc-André Grenier who decided to leave the band to focus on his career and other personal projects. Even though the remaining members of the band are disappointed by his departure, we remain in good terms. The vocalist position his now handled by Emmanuel Pronovost who’s been playing the guitar with Vengeful since 2008. His guitarist slot is now occupied by Phil Tougas (First Fragment, Chthe’ilist). This new configuration of Vengeful is featured on our rendition of Morbid Angel’s Blood on my hands.

“There is no release date for the Karma-TLA re-recordings but 2013 sounds about right. We’ll keep you posted on that front….. In the meantime we’re going to get back on stage to play our latest album and introduce this new lineup around our area.

“Musical suggestions: Krisiun – The Great Execution, Psycrotic – The Inherited Repression, Paradise Lost – Tragic Idol and Lamb of God’s Resolution. Eternal Gray, Nader Sadek …..a little late on those two. Looking foward to the new Down EP, Kill Devil Hill’s debut and Gojira’s new album.”

Marc-Andre commented on leaving the band: “After a seven years journey, I have decided to quit Vengeful. For a while and for many reasons, my motivation had decline. A change of career and the realisation of many personal projects pushed me to take that decision.

“I am extremely proud of everything that we have accomplished with Vengeful and with our third release, I consider that my mission is completed.

“I’d like to thank Jean-Marie for his trust in me and for creating such a musical masterpiece. I also want to thank all the former and present members for putting their guts in the this project. Thanks to everyone that supported us throughout the years. Many unforgettable moments will remain in my memory forever.

“I wish the best of luck to the band and the new line-up in the future. Cheers!!”

Vengeful 2012 is:

Vocals: Emmanuel Pronovost
Guitar: Jean-Marie Leblanc
Guitar: Phil Tougas
Bass: Olivier Pinard
Drums: Philip Truesdell
