Sicocis Goes “Beyond The Quantum Waves” With New Lyric Video

As was recently announced, Sicocis has scheduled February 24th as the release date for new album “Requiem of the World” via M-Theory Audio. Following that news comes new track “Beyond the Quantum Waves,” which can be heard below.

“’Beyond the Quantum Waves’ is our epic, melodic, sci-fi episode that combines great progressive elements with a dark cyber cloud hanging over it as you listen,” explains guitarist Rafael Ortega, who created the lyric video.

“It’s the contradictory lyrical concept about the atom and how scientists found this everlasting power for life and yet we used it to destroy, hence the atom bomb. Einstein knew that by using it as a weapon it would cause more pain and suffering as mankind knows its power only as a weapon and not for something that can progress life,” explains singer/guitarist Ernie Rodrigues. “We tried to bring that element of science and technology to the music, as well, mixing in synthetic sounds with organic orchestrations and choir fusing that progressive metal groove with a shred metal piece.”

Like what you hear below? You can catch Sicocis live on these upcoming U.S. shows in Nevada and California:

2/23 The Dive Bar – Las Vegas, NV
2/25 Loaded – Hollywood, CA
2/26 The Slidebar – Fullerton, CA

Nebulous Signs With Blast Head Records To Release New Album "The Quantum Transcendence of Death"

Blast Head Records is proud to announce the signing of Birmingham, Alabama’s Nebulous for the release of the technical death metallers debut album “The Quantum Transcendence of Death.”

Blast Head Records owner Paul Shaw comments, “From the moment I heard Nebulous I was absolutely floored, the songs have this amazing energy, which I think people will really gravitate to. They are a band that has a solid vision of what they are after, and this type of work ethic always pays off! I am very ecstatic to be working with them and looking forward to the release of’ ‘The Quantum Transcendence of Death’!”

The band recorded half of the album during the summer of 2011, but in October the group suffered a major loss with the death of drummer Justin Beasley. The band has forged ahead in Justin’s memory and has just recently finalized the remaining tracks. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Joseph McQueen (As I Lay Dying) of Echelon Studios.

The album artwork was completed by George Prasinis (Kataplexia, Mass Infection, Spawn of Possession), and two tracks from the release are available below. The track listing is:

PART ONE: THE MACHINATION

Elexorien Officially Calling It Quits; Members Form New Band Quantum Theory

Elexorien has issued the following announcement about officially breaking up, as well as about forming a new band titled Qauntum Theory:

“Legions, this may come as a surprise, but we hereby announce that our band is no more. We literally buried the hatched -or the blade, if you will- and will no longer operate under the banner of Elexorien.

“In many ways, this has been quite a tough decision. In others, it was the best choice we could have made, for we are proud to announce the following: We will keep on rocking!

“Liza, Ronald, Bert and Lain, as well as close comrades Jarno (ex-Thronar, ex-Murder Manifest) and Nikky (ex-Noir, Paradox Machine) have formed a new band called Quantum Theory, which is working on a brand new album as we speak. For details, please visit the Quantum Theory website, Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace.

“Merlijn will still be playing drums in his other band Praetor. The Last Post sounds as we say our personal goodbyes to the band and everyone that was involved, including YOU, proud Legions of the Blade. Endless cheers to all of you out there!”

Bassist Liza also stated the following: “After 7 fantastic years, there’s no more Elexorien, which, for me, still is hard to realize. Unfortunately, this also means we’ll be saying goodbye to Merlijn as our drummer. I would like to thank him very, very much for the great times we spent together, and will cherish the close friendship that has formed during this time. We will still be working together – just not as band mates.

“I’d also like to thank Joris, Iné and Lotte for the great time together and for what they did for the band. Some will follow other paths, others won’t. I am really looking forward to many successful and musical years.

“And last but not least; my immense thanks go out to all the bands we played with over the years and all the friends and fans that have followed us all this time. We shall meet again!

Guitarist Ronald “Wolve” issued this statement to the fans: “Dear people, After quite a few years, this is Elexorien’s end. I want to thank everyone who has supported us! Thanks, too, go out to the (ex-) band members I’ve had the pleasure to work with, and shared many great experiences with over the years. It is hard to lay down something which we worked hard for and spent massive amounts of time on. Proud of what we achieved, I say goodbye to Elexorien. See you around soon!”

Keyboardist Bert had this to say: “Sooo… Elexorien has come to an end! It was a great time to play in Elexorien with my fellow mates 🙂 But now we’ve come to a point where we see lots of changes in our music and to be honest, it’s not quite the Elexorien we and you are used to. We have therefore decided to end Elexorien as it is. A big thanks to all the people we met, all the places where we have performed and to the current and former band members!”

Drummer Merlijn commented on the band’s demise: “Dear friends, All good things come to an end and now the time has come for Elexorien… With pain in my heart I must declare that I am no longer part of the group that used to form this band and which now continues with a new, fresh road of possibilities in front of them. After not being able to find a new female singer and a good exchange of thoughts with everyone about the future of our band group I concluded that the new way, which everybody wants to take, is not my way.

“Because of these radical changes the name and philosophy of Elexorien could no longer coexist together with the new style of vocals, lyrics and music. I know that the new members Nikky and Jarno will do a great job to fill in the vacant positions and my former band mates will always stay close friends. Quitting this band does not mean the end of collaborating together and organizing great stuff in the future.

“As a drummer I will continue with my heretical war metal band Praetor and raping death grind band Abducted, who will both release albums soon. My eternal thanks go out to everyone who supported Elexorien in any way and made it possible for us to experience the amazingly awesome times with everyone at the club shows, festivals and at our South American tour in 2009. Hailz to you all and see you soon!

Vocalist Lain added, “This is it, then. We’re carrying Elexorien to the grave, to be buried after 7 amazing years of service. I can but agree with my fellow band mates and honestly say it has been nothing short of a pure and thrilling blast! My thanks go out to everyone who has been involved in this band from the very beginning, back in December ’03, up until today. That includes all the (former) band members and crew, the bands we had the honour to rock and hang out with, and of course all the great people we had the pleasure to meet and who have been right at our side on this most excellent ride. See you on stage with QT!”
