Ursa Premiere New Song “The great and the powerful” From Upcoming New Album “Abyss Between the Stars”

URSA, featuring members of the progressive black metal band Cormorant have released a single off their forthcoming album “Abyss Between the Stars”. “The great and the powerful” track is streaming now below:

Regarding the new track, the band comment:

“Serengeti Yeti” is definitely one of our favorite songs on the record—it has a nice mix of traditional doom and progressive rock/sludge, and the subject matter fits right in with our high-fantasy aesthetic. It tells the story of an ancient yeti who, after fleeing from a group of hunters, finds a mysterious vortex that hurls him into the middle of the African desert. It’s your classic “fish out of water” tale…except this fish wants to messily devour everyone in his path.”

Daydream XI Premieres New Song “A Cup Of Agony”

Brazilian outfit Daydream XI recently signed to Sensory Records and is gearing up to release “The Circus Of The Tattered And Torn” on six-panel digipak CD with a 28 page booklet and via digital formats on September 22nd.

This high octane mixture of full force metal with power and prog sounds is highly recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Symphony X, and Pain Of Salvation.

Ahead of next month’s release, today we’re excited to exclusively premiere new song “A Cup Of Agony.” Think you can drink all the way through to the last drop? Find out below!

Vocalist / guitarist Tiago Masseti comments: “We are very excited that our first live appearance in the U.S. will be at ProgPower USA. The festival’s audience and crew have been supporting us since we released our first album and it couldn’t be more appropriate to bring this new material to them first hand.

“In the song ‘A Cup Of Agony’ we join the Stuntman, one of the attractions of the Circus, as he reflects about the concept of pain. He draws a parallel between physical and psychological pain and how either affects us and get us addicted.

“Doing his stunts, he deals with physical pain on a daily basis, turning it into entertainment. And as a performer and someone who takes such an aggressive element of human life and turns it into art he deals with a great deal of psychological pain. And he drinks from this cup, feeding his pain in the quest for attention and recognition. And he nurtures it, endlessly.”

New Live Release “Live Beyond The Spheres” Announced By Blind Guardian

There’s some big news today for Blind Guardian: the progressive power metal pioneers are proud to announce the release of a new 3CD package/4LP package entitled “Live Beyond The Spheres”! The release will include material recorded from various shows during the European tour in 2015 – and it will contain old classics, new tracks as well as songs that are played very rarely live. “Live Beyond The Spheres’ is scheduled to be released on July 7th via Nuclear Blast as a 3CD and 4LP Box.

Vocalist Hansi Kürsch spoke about the difficulties in creating such an ambitious album: “In general, I would say that we’ve had a really good run throughout this tour and that nearly every show was perfect. But at the end of the day, after every one of us had checked through every single song and concert of those 30 shows again and again, there was only something like two or three versions of each song that were suitable to be used for an album. We then had to decide between those final versions; which one the most impressive one was. This was a nearly endless task!”

But as we all know, Blind Guardian stands for perfectionism in every way: “The final songs chosen contain such an energy, that tiny mistakes appeared to be completely unimportant. As soon as you listen to the songs, you will know what I mean, they feel completely alive”.

But in the end, the effort was all worth it. Hansi sums up: “There is always something happening at each show, let’s call it ‘MAGIC’, that gives us all a shiver up our spine. We are really satisfied when people sing with us, have a good time and go back home happy.”

The CD track listings will read as follows:

CD 1:
