Blacktop Mojo Posts Video For “Dream On” Aerosmith Cover

Southern hard rock band Blacktop Mojo has released a music video for the band’s cover of Aerosmith classic hit “Dream On.” The video was filmed by Nolan Cox of Nolan Taylor Media in Palestine, TX at Audioworx Studio.

The track, which was produced by Philip Mosley and mixed by Austin Deptula at Rosewood Studios, comes from the band’s upcoming sophomore album “Burn The Ships,” due to release in early 2017. Nathan Gillis from Blacktop Mojo comments:

“A close friend of ours suggested we do it, and was adamant that he knew it would turn out great… We asked our producer what he thought and he basically said ‘Well it wouldn’t hurt to try it out.’ After that we learned it, went to the studio and put it down. Listening back we were pretty surprised that it even came out decent…

“We showed it to a small group of friends and they all said they got chill bumps. At that point we were comfortable enough that we at least hadn’t shamed the song or Aerosmith (who we have a ton of respect for, obviously), so still with a little hesitation we released it. Since then, we’ve been shocked and overwhelmed by the awesome response.”

Theatres Des Vampires Releases “Morgana Effect” Video

Theatres Des Vampires will release new album “Candyland” on October 14th via Scarlet Records and today also unleashes a first video titled “Morgana Effect.” The band comments:

“It is a great day for us, after 3 years of a long work We finally released the first song of our new album ‘Candyland’ out on October 14th via Scarlet records. We decided not to publish anything before cause we wanted to give to our fans a direct message, a new strong sound together with the images of the new video ‘Morgana Effect.’

“The video is directed by Luca Cavallari (that is also our great photographer) that become mad during the shooting to coordinate all of us (we are not so quiet!) and edited by our producer Christian Ice (which is crazy by himself so no problem). We had also some special actors like Sara and Federico, the 2 scary children, the sweet and evil witch Nicole Zuppardi and Billy T Cooper, singer of the band JTR SICKERT as the black angel.

“2 different locations, a great make up team directed by Gianluca Terracina and our personal best fashion designer Diktator. All of them helped us to realize ‘Morgana Effect’ in the best way! We Are thinking already about the next one…so more news will come soon!”

Norma Jean Premieres New Song “Forever Hurtling Towards Andromeda” From Upcoming New Album “Polar Similar”

Norma Jean premieres a new song entitled “Forever Hurtling Towards Andromeda”, taken from the upcoming new album “Polar Similar”, which will be out in stores September 09 via Solid State Records. The song features also a guest turn from Coalesce singer Sean Ingram.

Check out now “Forever Hurtling Towards Andromeda” below.

Comments Norma Jean vocalist Cory Brandon:

“This song deals with music being a cathartic medicine for us. Growing up in poor neighborhoods, some rough situations, and just seeing life through that glass. Music is what we turned to. There was nothing that could ever sway us from it. As musicians, it was never about “making it” to us. We are always where we want to be.

Because the song is about our love of music and what it’s gotten us through, we wanted to bring in one of our favorite musicians to write something for it. Sean is a good friend and easily one of our favorite lyricists / vocalists in the world. Sean lives in Kansas where our producer Josh is from so it worked out perfectly getting him on the track. We had been talking for years and years about collaborating, this song came out and felt like a perfect fit. It seems to conjure a little bit of the Coalesce spirit as well.”
