New Video Clip “The Race” Posted By Arch Enemy

Having just completed a successful run of dates across Eastern Europe on the “Will To Power International Tour,” extreme metal giants Arch Enemy is back with another ripping single from the recently released album “Will To Power,” with the music video single for “The Race.”

Founding member Michael Amott commented: “This was actually the last song written for the ‘Will To Power’ album. Listening through all the material we had up to that point we agreed that the album needed one more song that would be a relentless and fast paced counterpoint to some of the more epic compositions we already had. We sent Alissa the music and she came up with a thought provoking set of lyrics with an intense vocal arrangement that complemented the music perfectly. We’ve been having a blast playing this song on the current tour and we had our video director Patric Ullaeus come out to capture the mayhem at our recent show in Helsinki, Finland… Enjoy ‘The Race’!”

New Album “The Magickal Presence of Occult Forces” Streaming In Full From Necromante

Today, Brazilian black metal cult Necromante streams the entirety of the highly anticipated debut album “The Magickal Presence of Occult Forces” over at Necromance at this location, or just simply check it out in the player at the bottom. The band drops the album internationally today (October 6th) via Iron Bonehead Productions.

Formed in 2007, Necromante has patiently stirred its cauldron of sound over the course of a couple demos, a mini-album, and a live album. Hailing from Brazil, within that cauldron, of course, can be found ancient ingredients like Sarcofago, Vulcano, Sextrash, Mystifier, and Impurity, but the power-trio finesse forth a sound that’s less focused on tempting the corners of chaos as it is conjuring an arcane, otherworldly aura – in that sense, not dissimilar to Impurity’s classic “Into the Ritual Chamber.” However, on evidence of :The Magickal Presence of Occult Forces,” Necromante is truly a unique entity unto itself, and masterfully so.

Witness “The Magickal Presence of Occult Forces” and hail the new gods of Necromante right here:

Wormholedeath Records Inks Deal With Painted Black

Wormholedeath Records is proud to announce that Portuguese dark metal combo Painted Black has signed a distribution deal for the worldwide release of the album “Raging Light.” The album will be available on all digital shops on October 6th. The physical and Japanese release dates are still TBA.

Band Statement: “We’re very thrilled to work together with the team at WormHoleDeath who have been very passionate with our music since day one! It’s a great feeling to know that with this record we can finally reach a wider audience thanks to the promotion and distribution network of the label, and have ‘Raging Light’ available in its physical format all around Europe, the United States and Japan!”

José Carlos Santos statement: “It has been a long journey for Painted Black. Akin to the pacing of several of their older songs, the Portuguese quintet has slowly but surely matured and evolved from denser, doom-laden beginnings into a multi-faceted, dynamic outfit, and their new album ‘Raging Light’ will not only be the glorious confirmation of that lengthy metamorphosis, but also that it is still an ongoing process. While many fans still hold on to Painted Black’s 2010 debut full-length ‘Cold Comfort’ very close to their hearts, even there the seeds for what was to come were already being sown. Far from the monolithic approach of many of their peers, the core duo of Luís Fazendeiro (guitars) and Daniel Lucas (vocals) already showed hints of their forthcoming exploration, on heavy tunes filled with subtle sadness. 2014 gave us another glimpse into the band’s untapped potential, with the ‘Quarto Vazio’ EP, a short but sweet collection of two surprising covers (Nine Inch Nails and Portuguese pop/rock legends Rádio Macau) spearheaded by the rocking energy of the title-track.

“Three years later, and ‘Raging Light’ is finally here, showing yet again that Painted Black simply won’t stay in the same place for long and will refuse to be pegged down. Although the opening title track’s intro itself underlines the continuity, picking up where ‘Cold Comfort’ left off – a cheeky wink to all those who have followed the band since those days – the departure is indeed wonderfully dramatic over the next 61 minutes. The guitar work is constantly phenomenal, intricate and elegant, its prog undertones offering unexpected twists and conflicting moods, while the rhythm section provides the necessary density and depth for the more fragile and sensitive moments to shine through. Vocalist Daniel Lucas, like a bolt of raging light himself, wanders between the power of his furious death metal roar and the beauty of his heartfelt, clean melodies, dripping with sorrow and melancholy. No two songs sound alike – from the hypnotic, clean-sung ‘The Living Receiver’ to the brief fury of ‘Absolution Denied’, from the instant catchiness of ‘Chamber’ to the rock-out grooves of ‘In The Heart Of The Sun’, but never do they stray too far from the quintet’s established personality, and that is the most delicate balance the band is able to achieve with ‘Raging Light’. No matter how far they have come since those early days, their restless creativity still operates within the framework of the band’s uniquely forged personality, and that is valid even for their most ambitious undertaking so far, ‘The Raging Light’s closing giant, ‘Almagest’. A true emotional rollercoaster enriched by a string quintet, a 17 minute long tour-de-force tracing the very journey of existence itself and ending the album on a remarkable high note.
Just like the explosion of colour and vitality of the amazing artwork will force your eyes to refocus and readjust to take in its power in one swoop, so too will the deeply evocative songs of ‘Raging Light’ will have a similar impact on your brain and on your heart, and leave you with both wide open.”

The track listing is:

1 – The Raging Light
2 – Dead Time
3 – The Living Receiver
4 – Absolution Denied
5 – Chamber
6 – In The Heart Of The Sun
7 – I Am Providence
8 – Almagest

Worws Debuts New Song “Standing in Place” From Upcoming New Album “Truth To Power”

Portland, Oregon hardcore metal/crossover outfit Worws debuts a new song entitled “Standing in Place”, taken from the band’s upcoming second album “Truth To Power”, which is due for arrival on September 22nd via Bandcamp.

Check out now “Standing in Place” below.

Tells vocalist Tony Mesue about the track’s subject matter:

“‘Standing in Place‘ is a metaphor illustrating the desensitization of society and the no action/lack of motivation due to fear. Others may have a purpose to stand, but others play a role in keeping us from our ultimate goals and or finish line! This song is meant to be an example of the duality in life and the roles others play around us, wasting our time!”

Video Clip For New Song “The Eagle Flies Alone” Issued By Arch Enemy

Arch Enemy has revealed the second single – “The Eagle Flies Alone” – taken from the forthcoming album “Will To Power,” due out on September 8th via Century Media Records worldwide.

Band leader Michael Amott comments: “Strangely enough, this is a song I wrote in sunny Mexico last year, but fear not – Arch Enemy hasn’t gone Mariachi on you! On the contrary, this song is steeped in classic Metal and melancholic Scandinavian atmosphere. Lyrically, this is an anthemic warcry to all fellow individualists around the Heavy Metal world. We shot the video with our director Patric Ullaeus in Sweden on the coldest outdoor shoot I can recall ever doing! The end result was totally worth it, it turned out beautifully. I guess sometimes you really have to suffer for the art!”

Once “Will To Power” hits the streets, Arch Enemy will do what the band does best, hitting the road and taking the latest batch of heroic metal anthems to the people! The band will kickstart the international “Will To Power Tour” with a headlining jaunt across Eastern Europe with special guests Jinjer in September before making way overseas for a co-headlining North American tour with Trivium featuring support from While She Sleeps and Fit For An Autopsy from October through December. Arch Enemy will continue touring into the new year with a January trek across Europe with support from Wintersun, Tribulation, and Jinjer. Full dates can be found both here and over here.
