Rivers Of Nihil launches new video for “The Silent Life”

– November 20th, 2018 –

Set to kick off European tour with Revocation next week

Today, Rivers Of Nihil has launched a video for “The Silent Life”, taken off the band’s latest album, Where Owls Know My Name. To watch the video, please visit: youtu.be/N6_WKGTeWH8

Rivers Of Nihil‘s Brody Uttley (guitar) comments: “This live music video for ‘The Silent Life’ was filmed by the kind folks over at MyGoodEye Visuals in our hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania on the last date of our recent headlining tour. We had our good pal Zach Strouse playing live saxophone with us that night, so it seemed like a great chance to catch some footage. As always, working with David Brodsky and his team was a blast. We hope you enjoy.

We will also be embarking on our second European tour late this November with our friends in Revocation, Archspire, and Soreption. We will be playing a nice selection of new tunes as well as some old favorites. Come out and get in the pit!”

Next week, Rivers Of Nihil will join Archspire, Soreption, and labelmates Revocation for a European tour this winter. See below for all dates!

Revocation lands on international charts with new album, ‘The Outer Ones’

– October 10th, 2018 –

#4 Current Hard Music Albums (USA)
#4 Top New Artist Albums (USA)
#11 Record Label Independent Current Albums (USA)
#12 Top New Artist Albums Consumption (USA)
#16 Current Rock Albums (USA)
#20 LP Vinyl Albums (USA)

#59 Current Digital Albums (USA)
#62 Digital Albums (USA)
#64 Top 200 (Canada)
#5 Top Hard Music Charts (Canada)
#52 Top Digital Music Charts (Canada)

To preview and purchase The Outer Ones, please visit: metalblade.com/revocation

Produced by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Queensryche, Whitechapel, etc.), The Outer Ones sees Revocation pushing both the death metal and progressive elements of their signature sound harder than ever. “I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date,” states vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson. “Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries.” Moving away from the societal and historical themes that informed 2016′s Great is Our Sin, this time Davidson has immersed himself in the fantastic, evoking one of the great writers of the sci-fi/horror genre. “The title is my ode to H.P. Lovecraft and the entities of pure cosmic horror that rule that universe he created. Since the new music we were writing was so evil and spacey in sections it seemed to be the right title to fit the overall vibe. But while the lyrical content is largely influenced by such writings, in every allegory there is of course some reflection of the real world, so I enjoy writing in a way that could have one overlaying meaning and then another deeper, symbolic meaning as well.”

Revocation is currently on the road for their first North American headlining tour in several years, with Exhumed, Rivers Of Nihil, and Yautja as support. Moonspell Premieres New, “Herr Spiegelmann” Live Video

A unique and solemn spell seems to shroud every spot as soon as Portuguese alchemists Moonspell enters the stage – and it was a very special evening indeed when the band played an exceptional show at the Campo Pequeno arena in their hometown Lissabon on February 4th, 2017. That inimitable bond between the gothic metal act and 4,000 of their fans in the sold-out venue is pure electricity, captured for all eternity on the massive Live DVD/Blu-Ray/3CD package Lisboa Under The Spell which will be released on August 17th via Napalm Records.

Watch “Herr Spiegelmann” from the upcoming release below.

The band on the video: “‘Herr Spiegelmann’, or Mr. Mirrorman, is a song inspired by the amazing book of Patrick Suskind, The Perfume. I guess everybody knows that book, if not shame on you. I wrote the lyrics to the “execution scene” where people start seeing on the tortured, beaten down man on the stake, everything wonderful they want to see. Like a mirror man, reflecting their fears and ambitions and most secret wishes. I really love this song and the visual part of it was specially designed for this show, with the laser gloves and the mirror jacket, in a tentative to convey the eerie and psychedelic atmosphere of the song. I hope you guys enjoy this advance from Lisboa Under the Spell, as it does reflect the struggle for an original and emotional cut of the songs, just like a Moonspell show should be, add magic.”

The band on the new live epos: “We are thrilled to announce the release of our brand new Live DVD/Blu-Ray/3CD, Live album, entitled Lisboa Under The Spell! It was recorded live on our breathtaking capitol city of Lisbon and it’s nothing short of an epic trek of more than three action packed hours! We have played Wolfheart, Irreligiosuplus Extinct in full, invited a bunch of guests, summoned our biggest strength to be up to the task, and it feels awesome to unleash a long awaited live release from Moonspell. This edition will be full packed with amazing material, bonus CDs from the shows, a in depth documentary about the band, top sound, dramatic flair and a human picture of thousands of Portuguese witches and wolves under the spell. A great document of what we are on and off stage. Don’t miss out and visit Lisbon through the eyes of Moonspell fans and the genius work of director Victor Castro.”

It was definitely about time, since Moonspell aficionados have been thirsting for a new live release ever since Lusitanian Metal (2008). Thus, Lisboa Under The Spell is not simply a visual testimony to the success of Portugal`s biggest metal band – it is a celebration of the unbound creativity and pure magic that is Moonspell.

Lisboa Under The Spell will be available in the following formats:

The band performance was shot in Lisbon, Portugal on an afternoon before we played a show there earlier this year. Excited to finally get this out.”

HARLOTT to support Havok on tour in Europe in April!

– January 25th, 2018 –

Australian Thrash Maniacs HARLOTT will be back to Europe this April with Havok, Darkest Hour and Cephalic Carnage!

Harlott‘s Andrew Hudson comments: “We are extremely excited to be returning to Europe this April to be part of a brutal line-up of some of our personal favorite bands. We can’t wait to get back to the countries we visited with Annihilator back in 2015, and we are bringing our fastest and angriest live show ever with us.

HARLOTT released their third album Extinction in April 2017 via Metal Blade Records. The album features 12 tracks of furious riffs, spitting verses and face melting shred blend effortlessly with triumphant melodies and thundering groove to make a diverse and adaptable record that pays tribute to the kings of Thrash Metal, and makes waves in the new dawn of evil.
