Horse Head Streams New Track “Destroyer Television”

Phoenix, Arizona’s Horse Head is streaming new track “Destroyer Television” today, which can be heard below. The track is taken from upcoming EP “Missionary” due out on September 25, 2015. Horse Head also comments:

“‘Destroyer Television’ is about the world we see around us. Honestly, we’re sickened by it. I think it is fair to say that each of us are relatively antisocial, and for good reason.

“The lyrics begin, ‘I am forsaken and bereaved. Lemmings….’ The majority of people are so drastically influenced by popular culture that it ends up affecting their abilities to contribute to any progress. From the egotistical businessman who devotes his life to squeezing every cent out of the world and sees himself as some sort of god, to the pretentious activist who degrades others in the name of righteousness, it is a self-perpetuating cycle, a black hole, devouring what it can.

“Lemmings are an interesting rodent who, when their population’s carrying capacity exceeds its limits, shed some of their excess during migration in the form of many being drowned by each other as thousands cross a water obstacle all at once. We see most of our society in a similar light. The herd has become poisoned by its obsession with self-centeredness.”

Cowards Working On New Full-Length Album

Paris-based sludge metal heathens Cowards – uniting current and ex-members of Sickbag, Death Mercedes, Hangman’s Chair, Eibon, Glorior Belli, Hellbats and more – have been locked into the studio over recent weeks, the band completely immersed in the process of creating a second full-length release.

Having returned to the solace of Sainte-Marthe Studio (Arkhon Infaustus, Eibon, Kickback) where the “Shooting Blanks & Pills” debut LP and subsequent “Hoarder” EP were conceived, the members of Cowards have already harnessed the drums, bass, and main guitars, and will continue to pile on the levels of auditory grime and antagonism with producer Francis Caste until these new works are adequately dangerous for release onto the population in January 2015.

Some brief video clips from the recording can be seen at Facebook here. You can also catch the band live on these dates:

11/07/2014 La Instants Chavirés – Montreuil, FR
11/08/2014 La Scène Michelet – Nantes, FR
11/09/2014 Mondo Bizaro – Rennes, FR
11/14/2014 El Diablo – Lille, FR w/ General Lee

Emit Streaming “Beneath Carvings Linger” From Album Re-Release

Crucial Blast is preparing “Spectre Music Of An Antiquary,” the out-of-print 2012 album from U.K. ambient black metal entity Emit, to be reintroduced to the population at the end of October. The label comments:

“The latest album of murky graveyard ambience, deranged synth, phantasmic dread and ritualistic black drift from this cult U.K. outfit, their first in nearly ten years is surrealistic, spectral music and nocturnal delirium transmitted from beyond the veil and steeped in the mysteries of old Britain, like some twisted, eldritch fusion of Fabio Frizzi, In Umbra Malitiae Ambulabo-era Abruptum, and 80’s darkwave.

“A must-hear for anyone into the murky surrealistic blackness of artists like Reverorum ib Malacht (a band that has shared members with Emit in the past), Yoga, Occultation, Uno Actu, Utarm, and Dapnom.”

No Clean Singing is hosting one of the album’s bizarre, all-consuming passages. The seventh in this haunting ten chapter manifesto, “Beneath Carvings Linger,” can be heard below.

“Spectre Music Of An Antiquary” will be available from Crucial Blast via digital download and digipak CD on October 28th.
