Jasta Releases “The Same Flame” Music Video

Hatebreed vocalist Jamey Jasta continues to build upon his legacy with new Jasta album “The Lost Chapters,” which was released this past March. Jasta’s next U.S. performance will be in CT on Oct. 7th w/New Years Day at The Webster Underground.

Until then, look for Jasta on his “European Vacation” tour starting this Friday, Aug 25th through Sept 1st. Jast today also unleashes his new music video for the track “The Same Flame,” which was shot by Paul McGuire of Obscenery Films.

Jamey comments: “I’m really excited to launch the video for the Jasta track, ‘The Same Flame,’ directed by my friend Paul McGuire. Those who listen to my Podcast know I’ve been talking about doing a project completely DIY style w/Jastafor months and this video, along with two others, are the outcome of that. In addition to a nine song album that was partially fan funded! Not only did I get to work on every aspect of the recording, packaging and producing the album, but I got to help direct and scout locations. Now we have a cool visual to go along with one of my favorite songs off the Jasta album.

“Since I released the album in the spring, Jasta had a successful tour w/ Anthrax and Killswitch Engage. After that I got busy touring on Warped with Hatebreed, but I was able to shoot 3 Jasta videos in 3 days on a short break. Now I get to hit the road w/Kasta in Europe for a short tour and then I’ll be back doing a home-state show Oct. 7th w/ Jasta before Hatebreed hits the road again.”

Valient Thorr Frontman Blasts Napalm Records: “They Can Go Fuck Themselves”

Valient Thorr vocalist Valient Himself is obviously not a fan of Napalm Records, who released the outfit’s latest effort “Old Salt”. Talking on the MetalSucks Podcast, he slams the label, stating:

“It’s unfortunate that we have a label that doesn’t really give a shit about us. Because that record came out August 30th of last year, and we did three tours in Europe around it and this tour right here [the annual ‘Vans Warped Tour‘] is the first one we’ve done in the States. So it would be nice if we’d had some kind of push from the label… I think it was like one of those… I don’t know if it’s a tax scam or what… but we didn’t sell like ten or fifteen thousand records the first day or something, so they don’t give a damn about us.”

“I’m not afraid to say it, we’re speaking about Napalm Records.”

He continues:

“Everyone in Europe said that they were great, ‘It’s gonna be fantastic, you’re gonna be on this great label.’ Everyone thought that. And they didn’t spend any money to put out any ads [for the album]. They promised us tour support, they didn’t [give us any]. They literally gave us a list of bands of who we should tour with — ‘You do a tour with them you’ll get some support.’ First name on the list [is] Clutch. ‘Hey, you wanna do a tour with Clutch in December?’ ‘Yeah, absolutely!’ We did it.

And Clutch’s profile has gotten HUGE in Europe. We toured with them in 2011 and they were big but, now they’re doing 2,500-3,000 cap places and selling them out all over Europe. And that was in Decmember and we did that. And we had to do local shows just to pay for our own airfare and everything because [Napalm] weren’t kicking down anything. And the same with this tour.

We’d be killing it on this tour right now… I don’t wanna say I’m completely unhappy because I’m a happy person, I’m not gonna let one thing run me down, but we’d be a lot happier if we weren’t spending every nickel that we made on this tour on our transportation, y’know what I mean? And when you have a label that doesn’t give a shit about you, that’s what happens.”

“This is our first and last record with them. They can go fuck themselves.”

Anguish Releasing “Mountain” via Dark Descent

Aptly titled “Mountain,” the highly anticipated sophomore release from Sweden’s Anguish will be unleashed November 12th on Dark Descent Records. The follow-up to 2012’s mammoth debut “Through the Archdemon’s Head” sees the band expanding upon their oppressive brand of doom metal. Compared to its predecessor, “Mountain” is stripped down, clocking in at 48 minutes across eight tracks of suffocating dread, yet the compositions are the band’s most varied to date.

You can hear the new track “SnowHammer” on the third episode of the Hand Of Glory episode of the Withered Hands Podcast right here. Guitarist Christoffer is also featured and comments on the upcoming album.

The weekly podcast will feature Jasta interviewing musicians, athletes, and other influential figures. During the first three episodes, Jamey Jasta interviews label mates Eddie Hermida (Suicide Silence) and Scott Ian (Anthrax) as well as Of Mice & Men’s drummer Tino Arteaga.

The show touches on everything from what it’s like for Hermida to fill the shoes of Mitch Lucker to the timelessness of AC/DC with Scott Ian to the next wave of superstar metal bands with Arteaga.

“The Jasta Show” podcast is available for free via this location and you can also hear the first three episodes below.

“With all the touring I have been doing globally, I have been running into so many amazing people. Now the opportunity has arisen to do this show and I am so excited,” exclaims Jasta. “I am doing this because I have the desire to hear people’s stories and tell stories of my own.”

CRIPPER in mixing progress of new album ‘Hyena’!

– July 29th, 2014 –

First two webisodes online!

German Death/Thrashers CRIPPER are in the process of mixing their new album.

Here’s an update straight from the studio: “Fellas, a big step in the progress of producing “Hyena” is done. We are happy to announce that all recordings are finished and we are entering the mixing phase now. It’s still 4 months from now until release, but to give you some sneak peeks, here’s another podcast for you. Besides the audio recordings, we also filmed our whole set at Metaldays festival in Tolmin/Slovenia. Strangely enough, it was the first time ever that we played in the rain, even though the overall festival weather was brutally hot and sunny! The audience didn’t mind, neither did we. Crowdsurfers, circle pits, wall of death and a rowing pit made all our worries disappear – thanks to everyone getting soaked with us! We had a massively positive feedback at our signing session, where the line of people wouldn’t stop for a whole hour. Crazy shit!

Check out the first webisode at THIS location and click HERE for the brand new, second edition!

CRIPPER convince with their enthralling mix of old-school and modern Thrash Metal. Served with technical refinement and a lot of groove, they kick ass while being varied and distinct. Since their founding in 2005, the guys and gal from Hannover, Germany left their marks as being a rousing live band, carrying the audience with dashing songs and sweaty shows. On tours with Overkill and Onslaught, CRIPPER spread their virus throughout Europe. Once a big festival got infected, they gladly book the band repeatedly – therefore CRIPPER played several times on festivals like Summer Breeze, Wacken Rocks, Metalfest and Rockharz Open Air. But there’s even more – boarding the well-known 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise ship from Miami twice, playing the Brutal Assault festival in the Czech Republic, shows at the Bang Your Head, in Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and being invited to enter the stage of the Slovenian Metaldays 5 (!) times let CRIPPER gain international recognition and a continuously growing fanbase.

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 1: Recapping 2013

In the second installment (and first official episode) of the new Metalunderground.com podcast, web wizard Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) and writer Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) cap off the old year by dissecting our official “best-of” lists and bantering about their own favorite albums of 2013.

Last time, we promised that the next episode would be far shorter. We lied; it’s still pretty long. When reviewing an entire year of music, sometimes metalheads can’t help themselves. Please bear with us as Kevin and Mike work on managing their time more efficiently.

However, if you find the time, and find the idea of listening to two complete strangers waffling on about Carcass, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Living Sacrifice, Protest The Hero, and In Flames (to name just a few) appealing, then crack open a beer and enjoy.

Big thanks to Belgian symphonic black/death metallers Herfst for providing our intro music. You can download Herfst’s music here and visit their official Facebook page here. You can check out the podcast episode by clicking the link below.
