Greenleaf Posts New Lyric Video “The River’s Lullaby” Online

Greenleaf give a second glimpse of how the rivers sound by revealing “The Rivers Lullaby”. Today the Swedes illustrate the floating stoner groover with a lyric video that underlines the song’s essence in the typical GREENLEAF way.

“It’s just three days left until the world can finally Hear The Rivers on November 9th! Save the date and be one of the first to listen to this massive piece of art!”

The band on the new video and their plans for the next weeks:

“We feel very happy with the lyric video for “The Rivers Lullaby”. It captures the mood and the essence of the song itself that for the most part describes a reaper’s helpless and weary thoughts. We also can’t wait to get on the road on Thursday and play this beast of a song for a live audience!”

The full track listing of Hear The Rivers reads as follows:
1. Let It Out!
2. Sweet Is The Sound
3. A Point Of A Secret
4. Good Ol´Goat
5. The Rumble And The Weight
6. We Are The Pawns
7. Oh My Bones
8. In The Caverns Below
9. High Fever
10. The Rivers Lullaby

The album will be available in the following formats:
– Digipak CD Edition
– 2LP Gatefold on black vinyl and highly limited other colors
– Digital Album

Megadeth Bass Player David Ellefson Resurrects Combat Records

Megadeth’s David Ellefson and his EMP Label Group will be resurrecting the Combat Records label next year. The move comes as a return of sorts for Ellefson as Megadeth‘s 1985 debut album “Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!” was released via the label, which also had a part in a handful of the subsequent albums that followed from the band.

Comments The EMP Label Group of their plans for the now imprint:

“So we have a huge announcement to make. And, for once, that is really, truly, an understatement. We have teased this for a while, but now the cat is officially coming out of the bag. Most of you will remember Combat Records as one of the seminal thrash labels of the 1980s, their most prominent artist being, of course, Megadeth (the COMBAT imprint appeared on all MEGADETH releases through RUST IN PEACE.) Combat was also home to Helstar, Circle Jerks, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, and many more of the most influential Metal and Punk bands of all time.

After a handful of ownership changes and weird attempted reboots, COMBAT went dormant in the early 2000s and ceased to exist. in 2016, David Ellefson, with his partner Thom Hazaert from EMP Label Group, did the due diligence to research and acquire the intellectual property and the COMBAT brand, and bring it home to the EMP family.

With the UTMOST respect to the legacy of the past, COMBAT will relaunch in 2018 as an imprint of EMP LABEL GROUP, releasing not only releases from classic Thrash and Metal artists, but as a home for new and up and coming artists as well. It is an honor and a privilege to resurrect one of the World’s most recognized and beloved Metal brands, that has been such an instrumental and important piece of David‘s history and legacy.

This is really only HALF the story, as we have secured some releases from mind-blowing legendary artists that we are dying to announce.. Look for a full press release coming later this week with more details, info on some releases, etc. But all things in good time. Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for COMBAT.”

Suicide Silence To Embark On “The Cleansing” 10th Anniversary Tour Later This Year

Suicide Silence will celebrate the upcoming 10th anniversary of the band’s debut album “The Cleansing” by performing the entire album for a special tour later this year. Alex Lopez (drums) confirmed the news earlier this month in an interview with ArmyOfOneTV at the Chicago Open Air Festival on July 14, 2017, discussing the beginnings of the band, current album and future activities.

Check out the entire interview below:

Says Lopez:

“Right now, our plans for the future are to write. We’re definitely eager to get in the studio. We’ve got some festivals coming up. We’re playing the Warped Tour, and we’re playing Knotfest Mexico, we’re going to Ecuador. We’re just doing a bunch of small shows, and then we’re gonna do a tour later this year. It’s gonna be a ten-year reunion – no reunion… a ‘Cleansing‘ tour, so it’s a ten-year run for our album ‘The Cleansing‘. I think we’re gonna bring out some pretty cool bands, play the album for you and play some other stuff. So it should be really, really cool. I’m looking forward to it. And for those of you out there that want to see the first record be played live, come out and support. We’re gonna have a bunch of cool surprises for everyone.”

Anthrax Guitarist Scott Ian To Lady Gaga: “Let Us Be Your Backing Band”

Scott Ian says that Anthrax “would love” to collaborate on music with pop superstar Lady Gaga…

In an interview with Duke TV’s Antoine De Montremy, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian states about Lady Gaga (see video below): “Yes, we would love to work with Lady Gaga. I think we put that out there a while ago. And then when we found out she was doing the Grammys with Metallica, I was, like, ‘Wow! It makes sense. They’re gonna be on a big TV show and do it together.’ And I actually thought she was great on it.

“I’ve said since the beginning, since the first time I ever heard her voice, I always thought, ‘Wow, I would really love to hear her sing on a rock record, metal record, whatever,'” he continues. “And then our drummer, Charlie Benante, ended up meeting her at a show and they became friends. And she knows all about Anthrax and Metallica and all these bands… whoever – name the band. She’s a metalhead. So that made it even cooler. The fact that, all right, she knows that world, she understands that world, and she can sing the shit out of this kind of music.”

“I don’t know what their plans are – if Metallica has more plans with Lady Gaga or if she has plans with Metallica – but we would certainly love to write a song together, or a whole album. Let us be your backing band. Let us be your backing band, Lady Gaga. We could make beautiful music together.”

Feral Finishes Writing New Album Due Out This Year

Following the release of the “From The Mortuary” EP back in December, Swedish death metal group Feral is glad to announce today that the writing for the next full-length album is finally finished. Feral issued this statement:

“We have been working hard since the release of ‘Where Dead Dreams Dwell’ to not once again end up with a four year gap between albums, but you can all rest assured that this is not something that has been hastily thrown together in order to meet a deadline.

“On contrary, we have put more time in than ever before to fine-tune the material as much as possible in an early stage. ‘Where Dead Dreams Dwell’ is a though album to follow for us, since we are extremely satisfied with the final results which we landed on. But there is a togetherness in the new material that can only come from playing together for a long time, and doing it often. We are a rehearsing band, and would never write songs in the studio as we record them.

“At the moment we are rehearsing and making the finishing touches to all of the new songs, which are 15 in total. Most of them are already sounding like they should with no further tweaking needed and once all of the material is 100% know by heart and well thought through we will book the studio to record. After recording the songs that fit together the best will but assembled to make out the album. Some fitting album titles have been thrown around, but this will be announced at a later time.

“The new songs range from pure Swedish Death Metal with eerie leads to crushing mid-tempo and slower track as well as some of the fastest and most ‘technical’ songs Feral has ever put out, all with our punk and thrash influences clearly imbued.

“Our hope is to have the new album out during 2017, but have in mind that a lot of the things surrounding a new release are out of the bands hands, such as formats and release dates. So no more precise info can be given at the moment.

“Furthermore we have other plans for 2017 as well; last year’s EP ‘From the Mortuary’ will finally see a vinyl release! More info in this is to be revealed soon, but it will be a really good-looking and sounding piece with a dedicated vinyl mastering. We will also participate on some very promising compilation- and split LPs with other really great bands from Sweden.

“Dead eyes see what the living can only dream.”
