Avenged Sevenfold Cancels North American Tour Dates With Prophets Of Rage

Avenged Sevenfold has announced that they have been forced to cancel their planned tour North America with supergroup Prophets Of Rage as a result of vocalist M Shadows suffering from a vocal chord injury. This includes their planned headlining spot at the Heavy MTL festival, where their place will be taken by Limp Bizkit. A statement from M Shadows reads as follows:

“There is no good way to start out a note containing bad news but here it is.

“After Europe I came down with a terrible viral infection that rendered me voiceless.

“I tried my best to take care of the situation with voice rest, medication and doctor visits but the voice was only getting worse.

“After a week of steroids, the swelling went down enough to see the cause of the problem. A blood blister has formed on my vocal folds and is preventing them from vibrating properly. In short, I can’t sing anything at the moment and the more I attempt to, the more damage is being done. Luckily, as of now the doctors feel that 3 months of no singing and voice rest should get my chords back on track.

“Unfortunately, this means we will have to cancel all tour dates at the moment.

“Decisions like this weigh on me very heavily. It’s a tour I was looking forward to very much. I want to apologize to the fans who have spent their time and money booking travel arrangements and accommodations. I also want to apologize to our crew and the other bands who were depending on this tour.

“None of these things are lost on me.

“Just know that I have exhausted every possible solution in trying to get out there and perform for you. It just simply can’t happen at the moment.

“We have a few things coming down the pipe soon that should be fun, so we hope you look out for those.

“Again, I am deeply sorry and hope to see you all soon.

“In silence,

“M”

Bloodbath Forced To Postpone North American Tour Due To Visa Issues

Due to visa issues Bloodbath had to postpone their planned North American tour that was scheduled to kickoff this week. The group released the below statement:

“It’s with an immense mix of anger, frustration and sadness that we’re forced to announce the following news…

We will not be flying out tomorrow to begin our first North American tour we all so much looked forward to playing.

We’ve been rehearsing and preparing this for months and our gear and bags are packed ready by the doorstep, but sadly due to the US Immigration and Embassy making a mistake with our visas, they couldn’t fix it in time and reissue it.

We hoped we never would have to make this kind of announcement, we were still trusting they would issue it in time to the very bitter end, but now with less than 24hrs to go, we have to accept our fate, it ain’t gonna happen.

We’re so sorry for all of you who bought a ticket and made plans to come see Bloodbath!

On any kind of positive note, we WILL be rescheduling (nothing else is acceptable!) and prepare to play the tour as soon as possible. More news on refunds etc. ASAP.”

Dismanibus Cancels Live Shows Due To Guitarist Injury

Dismanibus will be out of the live performance circuit for a few months as guitarist Pete Fitzgerald has been injured. The band comments:

“Sadly, Dismanibus have some terrible news – Pete has suffered an elbow injury, leading to hypermobility tension in his right elbow. This will render Dismanibus inactive for around 3 months, and subsequently we have been forced to cancel the foreseeable gigs during that time.

“This is a sad day, but of course, we hope you join us in wishing Pete a speedy recovery so that we can get that crab-game back on as soon as possible.

“And equally, we wish you to still attend our planned gigs, both on the 5th of February at the Soundhouse, Colchester, as well as on the 6th of February at T. Chances, Tottenham, as part of the Metal all-dayer, hosted by Riff Taff Promotions, as they promise to be excellent shows.”
