Guitarist Ol Drake Rejoins Evile

Evile have been officially rejoined by guitarist Ol Drake. Drake parted ways with the group back in 2013 to pursue a solo career.

Comments Evile :

“We’ve been sat on this picture for a few weeks now, so we thought it was time to announce that we have a new lead guitarist….

We are beyond thrilled to be able to welcome Ol back!

Make sure to come and see us headline Manor Fest in Keighley on 12 May as it’s likely to be our only show this year. The link to tickets is on our events section.

After that we will be fully focusing on album number five for a planned release next year. We know that will make it five years between albums but the wait will be worth it.

Apostasy Records Signs Night In Gales

Apostasy Records announced that the label has signed German melodic death metal act Night In Gales. Fans of the early material can expect a proper rejuvenation of the band.

Night In Gales looks back at turbulent times: The first sign of life, 1995’s EP “Sylphlike,” was already one of the most successful metal-demos of all time. Therefore, label-powerhouse Nuclear Blast came into the picture, with whom the quintet signed a deal for a couple of albums. They also toured alongside In Flames, Hypocrisy, Children Of Bodom, Death, Dismember and many others and they played numerous festivals like Rockharz, the Wacken Open Air or the Summer Breeze. After some calmer years, the band returned with 2011’s brilliant album “Five Scars.” Only one year later, long term vocalist Bjoern Gooßes left the band to concentrate completely on his band The Very End.

Last year, the band announced the addition of original vocalist Christian Mueller who also sang on their initial EP “Sylphlike.” He finalized the new album, which marks a distinct step back to the band’s roots. Thus, the songs offer furious melodic twin guitar riffing, driven by technical death metal drumming, topped by a manic frustrated voice that sounds like someone is crucified upside down.

The band comments: “We are happy to confirm that Night In Gales has inked a new worldwide record deal with Germany’s finest in melodic death metal: Apostasy Records! It feels good to be back and we are 100% sure to have the full support of Tomasz and his Team, as these guys are true underground-proofed death metal maniacs, who run the label with the necessary passion and idealism. We are proud to be a part of the Apostasy roster among brothers in crime like Ablaze My Sorrow, This Ending, Nailed To Obscurity, Burial Vault, Fragments Of Unbecoming, Damnation Defaced, Sign Of Cain, a.m.o. The new album is ready to release and there will be some exiting news containing more details like album track list, cover artwork, editions a.s.o. really soon, so stay tuned for this! Cheers, NIG anno 2017”

Terrortron Releases Surprise Album “Orgy Of The Vampires”

Still reeling from the quickly sold out double vinyl release of “Hexed” and “Necrophiliac Among the Living Dead” last week, horror synthwave project Terrortron (Anders Manga / Bloody Hammers) quietly released a new album today without any forewarning.

“Orgy Of The Vampires” is a new 11 track opus featuring dirty vintage synths and exotic percussion. In the spirit of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Recording themes of the group’s previous records, the album synopsis for “Orgy” goes like this:

“A society of vampires with a thirst for bad guys, transform a young nun. When they learn from the new recruit that the 1981 International Gathering of Priests is coming to town, a FEAST is planned on the most corrupt and SINFUL!”

Agonia Records Inks Deal WIth Superia For New Album “The Lyricist”

Norway’s melodic extreme metal act, Susperia, comprising former members of Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon, have inked a record deal with Agonia Records, with plans to release the long-awaited new album, “The Lyricist.” By the same token, the band will close the eight-year gap that separates the last opus, “Attitude” (2009).

“The Lyricist” will be the first studio album to showcase new vocalist, Bernt Fjellestad (a.k.a. Dagon, central figure in the picture) (Guardians of Time), who’s official stage debut with the band was made at last year’s 70000 Tons Of Metal Festival at sea.

The band commented on the signing and upcoming material: “Susperia is proud to announce the signing with Agonia Records for our upcoming album ‘The Lyricist.’ It’s going to be a harder and more grim album, going back to Susperia’s black roots!.”

Susperia may have it’s roots in the Norwegian black metal scene, but it is merely a starting point for a band that describes the music as “extreme metal with melodic twists.” A simple philosophy of “no boundaries” demonstrates that the band has no hesitation in embracing and exploring a variety of musical avenues with ease.

The origins of the Oslo based group can be traced back to 1998 when Tjodalv, then occupying the drum seat with Dimmu Borgir, and long-time friend Cyrus (ex-Satyricon, Old Man’s Child) got together to share ideas and write songs. A chance meeting between vocalist Athera and Tjodalv at 1999’s Wacken Festival in Germany would lead to the completion of the Susperia line-up, as Athera brought in also two other members – bass guitarist Memnock and guitarist Elvorn.

The band’s line-up can easily be described as a long-lasting one, with all original members in place since its inception, and the exception of Dagon filling in Athera’s boots, after the latter’s departure in 2015. But even Dagon isn’t new to Susperia. He performed with it on several occasions as a live mussician, at times Athera had other engagements. Primarily a heavy metal signer, Dagon has mastered also other vocal techincs, performing with the band. Nowadays, there’s new found confidence and determination running through the Susperia camp.

With five studo albums under the belt and an etiquette of a powerful live act, Susperia has consistently remained focused on the live area. The band’s numerous high profile shows include supports to W.A.S.P., In Flames, Destruction and Dimmu Borgir, as well as headline and festival appearances. One of the group’s most cherished experiences thus far, remains the invitation to be the main support to the newly reformed Testament, in late 2005.

More news on “The Lyricist” will follow soon.

Infernal Tenebra Joins Growing Roster Of Bands Denied Entry To U.S.

Like with Wormrot and several others before, you can add Infernal Tenebra to the growing list of foreign bands unable to enter the U.S. for touring due to tightening travel restrictions. The band just issued this statement about canceling a previously scheduled trek alongside Testament and Sepultura due to kick off today:

“Can’t win them all! Unfortunately, we were denied visas and can’t enter USA territory at this moment, so we had to cancel our support tour with Testament.

“This past few months were really a nerve wrecking experience. We tried our best to get the proper documents; lawyers in US were contacted, a shit ton of e-mails sent, we went to the US Embassy twice, but it’s just funny how it wasn’t meant to be this time. And it seems this current situation is not affecting only us.

“To make the long story short, just check a few links and you’ll get the picture:

– Metal Sucks: Trump’s Probing Visa Measures Could Cause the U.S. to Lose Foreign Tours
– NPR: Three More SXSW Bands Denied Entry To The U.S.
– Spin: Multiple Bands Denied Entry Into the U.S. While Traveling to Play SXSW
– Vulture: All Of These Musicians Were Denied U.S. Entry to Perform At South By Southwest

“Having said that, we’re working on new material and trying to re-schedule the tour. See you on the road asap and thank you all for the understanding and support!”
