Vixen Vocalist Janet Gardner Leaves The Band

Vixen vocalist Janet Gardner has announced that she has decided to step down from the band, ending her fifth stint with the group. In a post on Facebook, the singer stated:

“After much soul searching and many sleepless nights, I have decided that it’s time for me to step aside and let Roxy (Petrucci, drummer) and Share (Ross, bassist) pursue their vision for the future of Vixen. Vixen will always have a very special place in my heart and I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of it. I would like to thank everyone for the amazing support over the years, and as Roxy and Share continue to keep the heart and soul of Vixen alive and well and I continue on my path, your continued support to all would be greatly appreciated. Love, Janet.”

Gardner joined Vixen in the eighties and appeared with the band in the movies “Hardbodies” and “The Decline Of Western Civilization II: The Metal Years,” as well as releasing three studio albums with the group, as well as the recent live album, “Live Fire” last year.

Kill The Lights (Ex-Bullet For My Valentine) Premiere Debut Single “The Faceless”

Kill The Lights – the new band featuring former Bullet For My Valentine drummer Michael “Moose” Thomas, Throw The Fight frontman James Clark, Still Remains guitarist Jordan Whelan, Threat Signal guitarist Travis Montgomery and Glamour Of The Kill bassist Davey Richmond – premiere their debut single in the form of the below music video called “The Faceless“.

Recording sessions for the song were helmed by Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Slipknot).

Comments drummer Michael “Moose” Thomas of his return to the scene:

“I’m super grateful and excited to be back. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this. When I parted company with the old band, musically I was just sitting around doing fuck all and realized I had worked too hard and come too far to turn around. I thought I’d get in touch with Jordan and sent him a text asking, ‘Got any riffs or what?!’ Before I knew it, he had sent me 30 or 40 songs. I was like, ‘Erm, okay!’ I couldn’t believe it.”

Adds Clark:

“We all want to do something fresh, and for me it was about exploring some of the throwback metal more like Maiden or Priest that I felt had gotten lost over the years, but in a new way. ‘The Faceless‘ is a song for those that have spent their lives in the shadows, never felt good enough, or just struggled to fit in or feel a part of something. The song is a message to the broken… it’s time to be seen, it’s time to be heard. From darkness to light we are all the same – we are the faceless.”

The Charm The Fury Announces Decision To Split Up

Dutch metal band The Charm The Fury have announced that the band will cease to exist for the time being.

The band states: “Unfortunately, we have collectively decided that, for the time being, The Charm The Fury has come to an end. Sadly, the band could not be sustained in its current line-up for multiple, complicated reasons. With the departure of our old guitarists Mathijs Parent and Rolf Perdok, many things changed. Also, the financial strain that the band was placing on some of us was becoming too hard to bear. Suffice to say, the current situation could not be maintained and a decision eventually had to be made.”

Over the years the band became well-known in their genre and played on every major festival in 2017, including Download UK, Graspop, Pinkpop and various support slots including Korn, Papa Roach and Marilyn Manson.

Sarcófago To Re-release “The Worst” On Vinyl And Cassette

Greyhaze Records has announced the August 24th reissue of Sarcófago’s The Worst on vinyl and cassette formats. The reintroduction of this classic album for the first time on vinyl and tape, complementing the already-existing CD version, comes with massive audio and visual improvements. The album’s audio went through a high-quality remastering process, including audio sourced from original master tapes. The Worst’s reissue also comes with an expanded visual package including previously unavailable photos from the album’s photo session.

Originally released in 1996, Sarcófago’s The Worst was to be the band’s last full-length album. Despite criticism on its use of a drum machine, the album serves as a manifest of metal’s elemental counter-culture stance. It was a spit in the face of the then emergent rise of canned, subpar versions of heavy music such as grunge and nu metal.

Sarcófago’s The Worst is so much more than the cheap criticism it has received over the years. It is one of the most cherished offerings by the band and a clear symbol that despite attacks on its very essence, true Metal cannot be tamed or boxed into a palatable package. True metal should be wild, non-conforming, bizarre satanic noise.

Tracklisting:

1. The End (Intro)
2. The Worst
3. Army Of The Damned (The Prozac’s Generation)
4. God Bless The Whores
5. Plunged In Blood
6. Satanic Lust
7. The Necrophiliac
8. Shave Your Heads
9. Purification Process

Judas Priest Guitarist Glenn Tipton Diagnosed With Parkinson’s Disease – Takes A Break From Touring

10 years ago, Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton was diagnosed with the access of the early stages of Parkinson’s disease. Nevertheless the 70-year-old heavy metal veteran has lived his life as the great live guitarist he has always been known for.

At present, Tipton is able to perform some of the less challenging Judas Priest tracks, but due to the nature of Parkinson’s progression, he wants to let the fans know that he won’t be touring with the band for the time being. Glenn Tipton has requested Judas Priest producer and Hell guitarist Andy Sneap to step in for him.

Says Glenn: “I want everyone to know that it’s vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band – it’s simply that my role has changed. I don’t rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest! So at some point in the not-too-distant future, I’m really looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful metal maniacs once again.”

States the band:

“We have been privileged to witness Glenn’s determination and steadfast commitment over the years, showing his passion and self belief through the writing, recording and performing sessions with Priest. He is a true metal hero! We are not surprised by Glenn’s insistence that we complete the ‘Firepower’ tour and thank Andy for joining us to make Glenn’s wishes become real. As Glenn has said, we also can’t wait to have him with us at any time any place on the road. We love you, Glenn!”

Senses Fail Debut New Track “New Jersey Makes, The World Takes”

Senses Fail debut “New Jersey Makes, The World Takes” from their upcoming new album, “If There Is Light, It Will Find You“. That effort is due for a February 16th release on Pure Noise Records.

Tells frontman Buddy Nielsen of the track:

“Over the years, I have lost a number of friends to drug addiction. This song addresses those losses and how I have tried to intervene in people’s addictions over the years. As someone who has battled addiction, I know that the change has to come from within.

While support and resources are very important, it is ultimately a decision that is on the person who is battling. So many of us in this country have a friend or loved one who has lost their battle, and I thought it was important to highlight that struggle.”
