Famishgod Streaming Full “Roots Of Darkness” Album

After the debut “Devourers Of Light” album from 2014, Famishgod returned with “Roots Of Darkness.” The full album is now online for streaming below and available at Bnadcamp here. The following press release was also issued about the album:

“The original sickness that pervaded their music is present here and the whole record reverberates with it feverishly. It’s what brings the music of Famisghod to life. There are but too many lifeless bands playing this style of dark death metal with doom influences, but few remain genuinely convincing still. With a commanding, evil voice that goes hand in hand with the dank music, the momentum only snowballs over the course of the album, turning the output into a kind of an infernal juggernaut at whose mercy you lay haplessly.

“With an excellent artwork and a new logo, the image of the band is stronger than ever and gives off a fitting vibe. The music almost ends up having an atmospheric quality to it as you remain unable to listen to it and not think thoughts of darkness and gloom.”

Woe Posts New Song “The Din Of The Mourning”

“Hope Attrition” is the impending new full-length album from U.S. black metal collective, Woe.

Composed throughout the end of 2015 and most of 2016, this alarming seven-track offering, the band’s first in four years, will see release next month via Woe’s new label home Vendetta Records.

As a precursor to the album’s impending release, today new track “The Din Of The Mourning” is offered for public consumption and can be heard below.

“‘The Din Of The Mourning’ is the dramatic tale of a system’s inevitable collapse, those who push against progress, and those who exploit fear,” reveals founding guitarist/vocalist Chris Grigg of the tune.

He goes on to say, “It was written over the course of many months, seeing revision after revision, and did not feel finished until we received the guest vocals from Brooks Wilson (Crypt Sermon). I had a rule against performing my own clean vocals on this album but this song demanded a feeling of drama that only Brooks could provide.”

New album “Hope Attrition” will see release this coming March 17th on CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats. Woe will bring these warring odes to Europe with German black metal unit Ultha for a stretch of festival dates including an appearance at Roadburn on April 22nd.

Vitja Posts “Scum” Lyric Video From “Digital Love” Album

Get a first taste from Vitja’s upcoming album “Digital Love,” which is set for a release on Century Media Records/People Like You Records this coming March 3rd, 2017, by checking out a lyric video for the song “Scum” below.

“Digital Love” was recorded over the course of a year at Sureshot Studios by Daniel Keller and Andreas Vieten and mixed/mastered by Aljoscha Sieg at Pitchback Studios. “Scum” is the first brand new song taken from “Digital Love” and features Sushi and Kevin from Eskimo Callboy as guest vocalists.

“We wrote the songs differently from the past,” drummer Daniel Pampuch offers. “Musically and emotionally, we focused on different things than we used to focus on during a writing process. We don’t say that the songs are better, but they definitely sound mature. This time we wrote more song-oriented. The whole album is easier to listen to compared to older Vitja albums. So, the listener can pull out more for themselves. The idea was that each song stands on its own, but at the same time we wanted to design an album that works as a unity. For example, with ‘Scum’ we tried to grab metal by the balls. We wanted to create a hard song with a traditional but fresh and groovy attitude.”

Esben And The Witch Unleashes “Older Terrors”

Esben And The Witch is now streaming new dark ambient album “Older Terrors” online in full. “Older Terrors” is the band’s third album, and first with Season of Mist, due for worldwide release on November 4th.

Regarding this release, the band states: “Our forthcoming album ‘Older Terrors’ was written and recorded over the course of a year in Berlin, our adopted home. We’ve spent eight years getting here, sweating on stages, holed up in studios and exploring all that which inspires awe and terror.

“The album features four tracks. In this digital age of music we wanted to create a collection that worked together but could also be separated, each track standing alone, carving its own path and telling its own tale. This record is dedicated to the sublime. To Edward Young’s Night Thoughts, John Martin’s apocalyptic visions, Caspar David Friedrich’s forays into the forest and to the sparks of light that glimmer in times of utter darkness.”

Esben And The Witch Posts New Song “The Wolf’s Sun”

The English-via-Berlin post rock trio Esben And The Witch is now streaming the second new track from upcoming album “Older Terrors.” The track, an expansive slow burner titled “The Wolf’s Sun” is streaming below.

“Older Terrors,” the band’s third album, and first with Season of Mist, will be released worldwide on November 4th. Regarding “The Wolf’s Sun,” the band comments:

“An ode to Luna, a blazing white rock. We find ourselves drawn to and driven by a night lust as old as the firmament itself. The first chapter marks the laden swagger of the satellite, a pendulous, ominous beacon. Switching to the second movement, the maniacal march of its wide-eyed disciples, entranced by its heady glow. Rampaging with hearts as swollen as the moon itself – ‘Light it is blooming, A madness consuming, Inside your head, Inside your hands. In love! I’m raptured!”

Regarding this upcoming album, the band continues, “Our forthcoming album ‘Older Terrors’ was written and recorded over the course of a year in Berlin, our adopted home. We’ve spent eight years getting here, sweating on stages, holed up in studios and exploring all that which inspires awe and terror. The album features four tracks. Freya Streams New Song “Gnawing From Inside”

“Gnawing From Inside” is the alarming new single from Syracuse-based metal outfit Freya, taken from the band’s impending fifth full-length album “Grim.” As the album nears release at the end of the month, the band has issued the early single for public consumption below.

Offers Freya vocalist Karl Buechner (also of Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance, and more) on the morose concept of this new single:

“Essentially, the song is about a group of people trapped indoors isolated out in the wilderness in the dead of a brutal Winter after they deplete their stocks of firewood and food they start to hallucinate and slowly turn on each other. Cannibalism seems like the only choice to survive.

“When Flynn and I started to look into the background of the original Hansel and Gretel folk tale, one of earliest versions is even more horrifying then the one we’re all familiar with. The father leaves the two out in the forest so that the parents won’t themselves be tempted to kill and eat their own children over the course of a harsh Winter!”

Esben And The Witch Posts New Song “Sylvan”

Post rock trio Esben And The Witch today reveals details and the first track from forthcoming album “Older Terrors.” This will be the band’s first album with Season of Mist, released worldwide on November 4th, 2016. Check out the song “Sylvan” below. Esben And The Witch comments:

“This song is about a fire raging through an ancient forest. About primal forces, wild and uncontrollable loosed upon the land and how we try to might find meaning and even beauty in a burning world.”

The band continues on about the new album: “‘Older Terrors’ was written over the course of a year in our adopted home of Berlin. It began life in a basement, just Rachel and a bass guitar and sprawled out from there. We spent last winter fleshing these songs out in our rehearsal space up in an old tower block and in April we finally recorded them at a studio in the centre of the city.

“In this digital age we wanted to create an album that contained four tracks that would work as a whole but that could also be separated and stand alone. Each one carving its own path. This record is dedicated to the sublime. To Edward Young’s Night Thoughts, John Martin’s apocalyptic visons, Caspar David Friedrich’s forays into the forest and to the sparks of light that glimmer in times of utter darkness.”

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Brooklyn-based experimental metal outfit Tombs! Blending bleak, post-punk minimalism with the ferocious attack of sludge and traditional black metal, Tombs has established themselves as an act that’s as committed to consistency as it is to growth, developing smoothly (but never predictably) over the course of their career, and earning a multitude of accolades along the way (including “album of the year” from Decibel Magazine for 2011′s Path Of Totality!).
