Harm’s Way Announces New Album “Rust”

“Rust” is the title of the new album from Harm’s Way, due out March 10th, 2015. The album was recorded at Brick Top Recordings by Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos, Dead In The Dirt), mixed at God City Studios by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire), and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Obituary, Nails). Deathwish Inc. comments on the coming album:

“Opener ‘Infestation’ stomps with machine-like precision before plunging into a depressing sonic dirge. While songs like ‘Law Of The Land,’ ‘Hope,’ ‘Cancerous Ways,’ and others introduce guitar and electronic driven atmospherics into the arsenal.

“These subtle dynamics bleed into other aspects of ‘Rust’ as well. Mid-album beast ‘Left To Disintegrate’ unfurls as an unforgettable anti-anthem ripe with infectious creeping metallic undertones. While ‘Amongst The Rust’ and ‘Turn To Stone’ introduce guest vocals from Colin Young (Twitching Tongues) and Emily Jancetic. Both of them adding haunting nuance to the brute force of the band. All of this leads to the epic closer ‘Ease My Mind;’ a take-no-prisoners aural bludgeoning so heavy that it needs to be heard to be believed.”

The track listing is as follows:

01. Infestation
02. Law Of The Land
03. Cremation
04. Hope
05. Cancerous Ways
06. Amongst The Rust
07. Disintegrate
08. Docile Bodies
09. Turn To Stone
10. Ease My Mind

Hour Of 13 Calling It Quits

Hour Of 13 posted the following announcement to its Facebook wall, confirming that the band would be calling it a day. The band will play its February date at the Martyrdoom Fest in NYC, but will postpone the April European tour which had headline slots at Roadburn and Doom Shall Rise festivals. Multi-instrumentalist Chad Davis of the Connecticut/North Carolina act had the following to say:

It is with heavy heart that I must announce that Hour of 13 is on an indefinite hiatus. The one remaining show at Martyrdoom Fest 2013 in New York City will go on as planned, but after that no shows no interviews and no records. The massive lack of support for this band weighs heavily. Fan support is unmatched, but all other aspects support wise is a huge factor in this decision. We cannot be expected to give all and receive nothing in return. I thank it everyone of you for your message support you have shown throughout the years and hopefully this matter will be resolved and we will return, but at this point after June we are no more.

Regards to all,
Chad Davis

Dawn of Retribution To Disband After One Final Show

Geelong death metal band Dawn of Retribution has announced that they are disbanding:

“After four years, countless shows around Australia, one critically acclaimed full length album and a hell of a lot of beers it with some sadness and some optimism for the future that Dawn of Retribution have decided to call it a day.

“This decision is not one that has been made lightly, and as individuals we are looking forward to what the future will present. Some of us will continue on with other musical projects that we hope will be as positively embraced as this one has been, others will treat this as an opportunity to focus on other aspects of life that have been somewhat neglected over the last few years of hard work within the band.

“While we believe this to be the right decision, this is a sad time for us. This disbanding is entirely amicable and we all remain and will continue to be very close friends. We have had some of our best experiences in the Australian music scene while working under the ‘Dawn of Retribution’ banner and we have made some amazing, lifelong friends and will retain some everlasting memories.

“One final show has been booked, and we promise you this will not be one to miss. Details will be released very soon and we are hoping to see you all there for one final, epic party. So as the dawn becomes a dusk, we look to farewell this chapter of music with one hell of a bang!”
