Septicflesh Films Mexican Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX Show For DVD

Last Saturday, Greek symphonic death metal outfit, Septicflesh, delivered a historic sold out performance at the Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City. The unforgettable night, entitled Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX, was the largest production of its kind at the venue which included the band and over 130 musicians from the Symphonic Orchestra and National University Of Mexico Children’s and Youth Choir. If you weren’t one of the 3, 200 attendees, rest assured that you will be able to witness the achievement as live footage of the event was captured for a future DVD release.

Septicflesh’s unique blend of symphonic arrangements, avantgarde elements, atmosphere and eviscerating extreme metal has been converting legions into fans since the 90s. Now, with a streak of modern classic albums under their belt such as “Sumerian Daemons” (2002), “Communion” (2008), “The Great Mass” (2011), “Titan” (2014), and now “Codex Omega” (2017) there seems to be no stopping this creative juggernaut.

Septicflesh’s latest album “Codex Omega” is the first to feature former Decapitated drummer Kerim “Krimh” Lechner. Months of hard work and experimentation crafted the album, and resulted in 10 compositions of dark sonic bliss. Lyrically and musically, “Codex Omega” is by far the most infernal release of Septicflesh to date. The album was produced by highly acclaimed metal producer, Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amom Amarth, Kreator). Besides the orchestral side represented once again by the Filmharmonic Orchestra of Prague, the band utilized traditional instruments such as Oud and Duduk and also a 12 string electro-acoustic guitar, enhancing the mystical atmosphere of the compositions. Of course as always, Codex Omega is dominated by the relentless death guitar riffing and the pale melodies that are the trademark of Septicflesh.

Ex Deo Issues “The Immortal Wars” Album Update

Ancient Rome influenced metal band Exo Deo has completed the writing process for the third installment “The Immortal Wars” after months of piecing together the new concept album surrounding the historic and famous Punic wars with Hannibal’s Carthage.

Ex Deo is set to enter JFD Studios in Texas and Pirate Studio in Montreal, Canada with producer J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Malevolent Creation, Misery index, Despised Icon) to record this new opus.

Frontman Maurizio Iacono describes it as “an ultimate historic lesson dipped in violence and blended with and incredibly brutal score that will transport you back in time and get your blood boiling, no details have been spared.”

Mixing duties will be handled in Sweden by acclaimed producer Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Fleshgod Apocalypse) this September. Expect an early February 2017 release via Napalm Records worldwide.

Orchestral score composer Clemens Wijers (Carach Angren, Lindmann, Pain) comments: “I had the privilege to compose and produce the orchestral score for the new phenomenal album ‘The Immortal Wars’ by Ex Deo. For me as a composer this was a huge challenge as it pushed me to reinvent myself, surrounded by the great Roman atmosphere that Ex Deo breathes throughout their music. The songs were asking for fierce aggressive orchestrations combined with emotional passages underscoring the narrative throughout. Coming from a background in writing epic and horror oriented orchestral music I was able to leave my signature on this remarkable work. I’m beyond proud of the end result and can’t wait until the album is finally out!”

Eleventh Hour Releasing New Album “Memory Of A Lifetime Journey”

Eleventh Hour’s “Memory Of A Lifetime Journey” will see release on January 20th, 2016 and the track listing and artwork are now available below.

The Eleventh Hour project was born in 2014 out of guitarist Aldo Turini’s need to express some musical ideas that have been kept in a drawer for years. Aldo arranged all the songs and wrote the orchestral parts with Giuseppe Carella, whose background was so distant from symphonic metal that the final result was very peculiar and musically challenging.

In November 2014, the band’s line-up had finally been confirmed and included Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Revolution Saints, Edge Of Forever) on vocals, Luca Mazzucconi (N.F.D, Lahannya) on drums, GianMaria “Black Jin” Godani on bass and Alberto Sonzogni (The Black Phoenix, Timesword) on keyboards.

Drums, bass and acoustic guitars were recorded in Parma at Real Sound Studios, electric guitars at Michele Quaini’s O.U.T. Side Studio and vocals (including soprano Susanna Carboni for “Sleeping In My Dreams” and “Here Alone”) at Alessandro Del Vecchio’s Ivorytears Music Works Studios.

Alessandro Del Vecchio, a renowed producer for some iconic international musicians, mixed and mastered the album, perfectly balancing it between the powerful approach of the band as a whole and the melodic and cinematographic orchestral flavor of the compositions.

1. Sunshine’s Not Too Far
2. All I Left Behind
3. Jerusalem
4. Back To You
5. Sleeping In My Dreams
6. Long Road Home
7. Requiem For A Prison
8. Island In The Sun
9. After All We’ve Been Missing
10. Here Alone

Abyssic Releasing “A Winter’s Tale” Album

In 1997, Memnock (Susperia) founded Abyssic Dreams and recorded a two song demo together with drummer Athera (now vocalist in Susperia and Chrome Division). Not much happened after that as they focused on Susperia – a band they started together with Tjodalv (Dimmu Borgir) and guitarist Elvorn.

Abyssic Dreams went into hibernation and in 2012 Memnock wanted to give life to his old project again after coincidentally meeting Andre Aaslie, who just had finished the debut album of the orchestral extreme metal band Gromth. This was the beginning of a unique collaboration between the two, and within one and a half years they had material enough to start the recording of the album.

Memnock’s band mate in Susperia, Elvorn, was engaged as guitarist, and soon after Asgeir Mickelson (Borknagar, Ihsahn, Spiral Architect) came in to handle the drums.

The band changed names from Abyssic Dreams to just Abyssic and went into the reputable Toproom Studio to record the album during 2014. The mix & mastering took place at the very same place the winter of 2015. A release date is finally set for February 26, 2016 and the track listing is as follows:

1. A Funeral Elegy
2. A Winter’s Tale
3. Sombre Dreams
4. The Silent Shrine
