Black Tongue Drops Off U.S. Tour Due To Visa Issues

Black Tongue was set to join Carnifex, Within The Ruins, Lorna Shore and The Last Ten Seconds Of Life on a current U.S. tour but will not be appearing on any dates due to visa issues. The band comments:

“We just received the devastating news that our visas have been denied for the current U.S. tour we were meant to be joining. We have no other details as of yet and are awaiting a statement from the U.S. Visa Office regarding why they were denied.

“There are not enough words to express how sorry we are to all you fans that missed out on seeing us and we’re expecting to see us as the tour continued. Please understand we did everything we could, in particular applying for the visas over 9 months ago now, and it’s all been out of our hands for a while.

“We remain hopeful for another attempt at coming back to the US and hope we will be able to see you all again soon.”

Immortal To Continue On Without Abbath, Working On New Album

Abbath may have departed to form a new self-titled band, but Immortal soldiers on!

Norway’s unstoppable black metal force has been busy working on new material, with members Demonaz and Horgh having gone through legal processes this past year to retain the band’s name and logo. Nuclear Blast had this to say:

“In October 2014, ex-Immortal singer/guitarist Abbath (Olve Eikemo) filed an trademark application for registration of the brand Immortal to Patentstyret (Norwegian Industrial Property Office) without informing the other band members. The band’s core members Horgh and Demonaz were forced to seek legal help to counter this. The trademark application from Eikemo was not approved and was denied registered on July 21st, 2015. Eikemo has left Immortal to start his new band.”

The band also adds: “Immortal never stopped, we just had to go through a long legal process before we could go out in the media with the news. Immortal is much more than just a band, and much more then just a form of music. The departure of one member cannot change that, no matter. We will continue what we believe in, and the power of ‘Blashyrkh’ shall live on.”

Demonaz, the band’s founding member, has created material based on his visions of Blashyrkh for nearly 25 years. Some new songs, which are set to be included on the next album, are “Northern Chaos Gods,” “Called To Ice,” and “Blacker Of Worlds.” More information about the new music and line-up will be presented later this year.

Ozzy Osbourne Rumored To Appear In New Ghostbusters Movie

A few weeks back it was announced metal fans were being recruited for a concert scene in the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, and now rumors are circulating that Ozzy Osbourne will appear in the flick. The Boston Herald had this to say:

“So rumor from the ‘Ghostbusters’ set is that the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, was the headliner at the heavy-metal concert scene director Paul Feig shot all last week at the Citi Wang Theatre.

“Our spy on the scene overheard a couple of crew members talking about the Black Sabbath frontman outside the theater where Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones were working.

“And posters outside the theater advertised a ‘Rock Revenge Fest featuring Ozzy Osbourne’ as part of a ’12 Hour Marathon of Metal.'”

This upcoming reboot of the classic franchise is being directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Office, Nurse Jackie) and stars Mellisa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig.

Wormholedeath Records Signs Sanctrum, New Album “Rot” Preview Clip Available

Swedish assault combo Sanctrum have signed a worldwide deal with Wormholedeath for the release of their upcoming sophomore album “ROT”. The album, which features 10 tracks of pure sonic violence, was recorded during September-October 2014 and was produced by Lawrence Mackrory (F.K.Ü., Darkane).

The band commented: “”We are extremely happy and excited to announce that we have signed a
worldwide deal with WormHoleDeath records for the release of our most ambitious project to date, our sophomore album ROT! The WormholeDeath crew have really taken us under their wings, giving our album all the attention and recognition it deserves. It’s an honor to join forces with WormHoleDeath, and we feel we have found good partners who are as passionate about ROT as we are! We put our hearts and souls into the writing and recording of this album over the course of last year. The album is bigger, heavier, and more ferocious than we ever could imagine at the start of the writing process. It is our best work by far, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone. Stay tuned for more updates. Yours, True Panzer Division Sanctrum”

Worm stated: “When I got Irfan’s email I thought: Uppsala/Sweden … Ok then, let me check this out right now. After that, I just remember that I saw red. When I regained consciousness in an ambulance my office mates told me how it went. Minute 1: the whole office was cold and dark…Minute 3: the whole office was devastated by black winds of destruction and nordic storms…Minute 10: My ears started bleeding and I felt like desperate … Minute 20: I lost consciousness … Dragonslayer began and I felt that my soul was departing from my body …Minute 25: Swat broke through the door to save us from the blast … Minute 30: An hestatic state of coma arrived … End of record: The deal offer was ready and a superior infernal force ordered me to send it to the band immediately. Ok then, jokes apart… I am absolutely proud to announce the signing of this band as I just feel that this record is a great opportunity of growth for our label. ‘ROT’ is ferocious and pays tribute to no-one. ‘ROT’ simply stands out for its tuneful brutality and the tracks clearly exude with the band’s attitude and conviction. Sanctrum is a force of nature leaving you breathless, gasping for air…It’s like when the sky is low and you gather up its harm and gods with grateful arms.”

The track list for “Rot” is:

1. Thousand Lies
2. Above Us All
3. This Time Around
4. The Sickness Within
5. Painting the River Red
6. Machines
7. Demons
8. Dragonslayer
9. The Ritual
10. On Justice

The album features 10 tracks of blackened death metal around will be released on March 10th, 2014. WormHoleDeath comments:

With this clean, modern and tight production the band really impressed us here at the office!0
