Late All That Remains Guitarist Oli Herbert’s Cause Of Death Revealed

According to late All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert’s widow, the toxicology report for him has come back and listed his cause of death as drowning. She issued the following statement regarding that:

“Good morning everyone this is Beth. And indeed it IS a good morning; Toxicology results are back as is the official cause of my husband’s death!

Cause of death- Drowning
Toxicology- Oli was apparently self-treating for manic-depression that has run in his family for several generations. Anti-depressants were found in his system, as well as a sleep aid. The psych meds found in his system were the same ones that a close relative has been prescribed for a long time, so he knew what to hunt down for the “treatment”.

Seeing how he was not going (and WOULDN’T GO) to a doctor to get diagnosed with the issue and was not being prescribed the medications and monitored on them, it explains his occasional erratic behavior here at home.

As far as why the memorial was cancelled; concern for my personal safety and home due to numerous threats to both is the reason.

If anybody knows where Oli was getting the psych meds, please call CT State Police, Troop C in Tolland, CT.”

The 44-years-old guitarist‘s body was found in a pond nearby his Stafford Springs, CT home on October 16th, 2018.

All That Remains just released their new record “Victim Of The New Disease”, and have tapped guitarist Jason Richardson as Herbert’s fill-in.

Psychostick Announces “The Socks, Sandals & PJ Pants Tour” North American Tour Dates

The kings of comedy rock Psychostick are hitting the road this coming October and November for “The Socks, Sandals & PJ Pants Tour” with Downtown Brown and Danimal Cannon (dates listed below) in support of their new album “DO”.

This latest full length from Psychostick was a surprise album that the laugh masters revealed to the world this past July during a live fan engagement webcast on Twitch (watch the video here). The album was four years in the making to follow Psychostick’s extremely fan loved “IV: Revenge of The Vengeance” and continues the band’s genius of blending comedy, metal, heavy rock and the occasional spoof cover.

“DO” debut #1 on Billboard’s Comedy Albums chart along with ranking at #14 for Hard Rock Album, #39 for Rock Album, #39 for Independent Albums and #9 for Heatseekers Albums for the week of August 11th.

The band comments:

“Whelp, here it is! “Do.” This whole “surprise, nerd! New album!” experiment was extremely fun, and we’re beyond appreciative of your patience and understanding. We agree with you – four years is way too long. We hope to fix that despite what Murph says!

“Do” is our first 100% independent, label-free release since 2003! Our production process is still completely internal, but this time all profits go straight to Psychostick. This is extremely huge for us and we can’t thank you enough.

2018 marked the fifteenth anniversary of our first album, and we’re beyond excited that we’re still kickin’, making globs upon globs of comedy metal. We aim to do this until they kick us out of the old folks’ home or off of Mars. That’s right. We’re goin’ to Mars, damnit.”

Exhumed Enters The Recording Studio

California extreme metal crew Exhumed just entered the studio to record a sixth album and follow-up to 2013’s “Necrocracy.” The album will be entitled “Death Revenge” and will see a late 2017 release via Relapse Records.

Issues founding guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey: “We entered the studio April 1st with our buddy Jarrett Pritchard (Gruesome, Goatwhore) to start the process and no, this is not an elaborate April Fool’s joke… ‘All Guts, No Glory’ was more of a straight-up speeding attack, ‘Necrocracy’ had a bit more focus on groove and incorporating some mid-paced stuff in there, and this one is gonna be a lot darker.

“It’s a concept album, which is a first for us, so expect some new twists on our tried-and-true formula: one part late ’80s death metal, half a cup of German/Canadian/Bay Area thrash, a dash of grindcore, crossover, and crust, and the occasional, well-concealed, Hall And Oates rip-off.”

In related news, Exhumed has confirmed a string of European tour dates this June, which include a performance at Hellfest and follow their North American appearances at Modified Ghost Festival II in Vancouver and the Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore in May.

5/25/2017 Modified Ghost Festival II – Vancouver, BC
5/27/2017 Maryland Deathfest – Baltimore, MD

Joy Streaming New Track “Hope Less”

While not even a year old, North Carolina’s Joy boasts a fine-tuned, aggressive nature well beyond the group’s youth. After releasing a two-song demo in May of 2015, the quartet toured and played shows all along the East Coast, sharing the stages with Advent, Shai Hulud, Full Of Hell, Power Trip and various others.

Joy will release a new, five-song EP titled “Of Nothing” this coming June 17th on Blood & Ink Records. Check out the song “Hope Less” below, courtesy of MetalSucks.net.

Vocalist Andrew Langhans had this to say: “The lyrics of ‘Hope Less’ came about as I was overwhelmed and stressed about the direction my life was headed. The monotony of day-to-day happenings and the occasional feeling of being lost has made me wonder from time to time if I should lower my expectations on what my life will amount to. I realize this isn’t the most positive outlook, but it’s something I have wrestled with. I want my lyrics to be true to myself and honest with whoever listens.”

ANAAL NATHRAKH: Revolver Magazine Streams Ferocious Desideratum Full-Length In Its Entirety

– October 27th, 2014 –

Desideratum is the forthcoming new long player from UK extreme metal misfits, ANAAL NATHRAKH. Applauded for consistently levying, “their own special breed of terrifying, mixing up grindcore speediness with giant choruses and riffs that are the audible equivalent of total nuclear annihilation,” by Metal Injection and crowned, “one of the most utterly fearsome and inventive outfits currently operating in the modern extreme metal scene,” and “aural devastators” by Decibel Magazine, Desideratum takes the definition of the word “extreme” to an entirely new realm of chaos.

In celebration of its official North American release, now less than one week away, today Revolver Magazine offers up a stream of Desideratum in its sinister entirety. Get devastated at THIS LOCATION.

ANAAL NATHRAKH – guitarist/bassist/programmer Mick Kenney alongside vocalist David Hunt AKA V.I.T.R.I.O.L. – replicates the sounds of true evil. With both screaming banshee tirades and traditional vocals set against an dense wall of controlled chaos, what ANAAL NATHRAKH manifests is wholly petrifying yet inexplicably inviting. Hallmarked by crushing musical dexterity, ingenuity and breadth, married with mercurial, intensely misanthropic and sharp intelligence, ANAAL NATHRAKH‘s sound is infused with a palpable sense of menace that is virtually unmatched in the metal world. Desideratum was produced by Kenney, with vocals recorded at Necrodeath Studios in Birmingham, and music tracked and mixed at The Black Flamingo in Orange County, California.

Desideratum is slated to detonate on October 28th, 2014 on Metal Blade Records. In the interim, visit metalblade.com/anaalathrakh where you’ll find a host of killer preorder packages.

The snarling vocals of Dave Hunt are the focal point, with the war machine of unrelenting black metal/grind/pseudo-industrial blasts bringing up the rear. ANAAL NATHRAKH’s approach is no mercy ever, apparently.” – Noisey

ANAAL NATHRAKH are mesmerized by chaos, whether it be from incoherent screaming or programmed drums that blur into a mess of seismic beats. Even more intriguing are the melodic components thrown into the chaos, like the occasional soaring chorus line or striking guitar lead.” – About.com

Desideratum is a statement of malicious intent, a call-to-arms to rally the masses and bring forth armageddon. ANAAL NATHRAKH continue their brand of grinding merriment, sanity be damned, and they are taking your sorry ass with them. Submit, and revel in the insanity yet again.” – AngryMetalGuy

Whether you need feral blast beats and psychotic screaming or melodic riffs and epic clean choruses, you’ll find it here in Desideratum.” – Dead Rhetoric

Desideratum is ANAAL NATHRAKH once again throwing down the gauntlet against all the bands who would make a play at being pissed off. It is a calculated butchery of sound that still comes off as intensely raw, and people owe it to themselves to check it out – if only to make every band they considered ‘heavy’ before this seem like a bunch of sissies.” – NoCleanSinging
