Finsterforst Working On New Album

“Anyway, what do you guys expect from the next Finsterforst record?”

Imperial Triumphant Recording New Album

Following last year’s “Abyssal Gods” album and the “Shrine To The Trident Throne” compilation from 2014 (reviewed here), Imperial Triumphant is now working on another full-length release. The band comments:

“Heads up from the Imperial camp – we’ve been quiet as we’ve been writing the next full length. It’s coming into shape and surprising us every step of the way. We will be recording with Max Gorelick as official second guitarist so anticipate a lot of dissonant counterpoint. This record will be a grand statement, solidifying our avant death music style and New York art deco/metropolis aesthetic.”

Varego Announces “Phantasma” Single

Italian post/prog metal band Varego is back aftertwo years of silence following the “Blindness of the Sun” opus. The band is now working on the final touches for new 2-song single “Phantasma,” tentatively scheduled out by the end of November.

Available on Bandcamp via free download, “Phantasma” will feature a brand new song mixed and mastered by producer Billy Anderson (Sleep, Weedeater, among many others), and a remix of old song “Secrets Untold.”

Varego comments: “Yes, we’ve been probably too much under the radar recently, but this will be a significant come back for us in two years, that we want to celebrate with a new song that more than ever features all our influences (think of Melvins, Neurosis, Voivod and King Crimson, all together, yes!). Or, if it looks too much pretentious, just call it WEIRD METAL!”
