Memoriam (Ex-Bolt Thrower, Etc.) Premiere New Music Video For “Nothing Remains”

A new music video for Memoriam‘s (ex-Bolt Thrower) song “Nothing Remains” has been premiered and is streaming for you below. March 23rd has been announced as the release date for the group’s sophomore album, “The Silent Vigil“, out via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band commented of the track:

“‘Nothing Remains‘ is about dementia and in particular about Karl‘s mother‘s struggle with this condition. The video is showing the experience of loss and dissolution brought about by the disease in the burning of old family portraits of Karl‘s mother and family, parents of Memoriam members and of friends as well as random strangers. Similar to us all being of the same blood as expressed in the previously released ‘Bleed the Same‘ we also all die and decay the same.”

Memoriam Reveals New Album Release Date, Artwork And Tracklisting

Old school death metallers, Memoriam, are set to unleash their second album, The Silent Vigil, on March 23rd through Nuclear Blast Records. Just one year after the release of debut album For The Fallen, the band returns with an authentic, raw flood of old school death metal destruction!

The album’s impressive artwork was created again by Dan Seagrave (Benediction, Dismember, Hypocrisy, Suffocation). Speaking about the album art, the band stated:

“Following the success of working with Dan Seagrave for our debut album For the Fallen, we decided that we had to get Dan involved for the next album cover. Initially we used Dan as we were all very impressed with the art that he has created for bands over the decades and Scott in particular wanted to have an album cover designed by Dan Seagrave, as part of the things he wanted to achieve with Memoriam. Dan really encapsulates the old school death metal feel to the album covers that he creates; they are full of detail and very atmospheric. We gave him a brief for the For the Fallen debut cover and he did a great job. We briefed Dan and asked him to create an image which followed on from the first album; the first album features a funeral procession, the coffin of the fallen leader paraded across an ethereal battle scarred landscape.

“The Silent Vigil represents the next phase of the journey where the coffin is lying in state with the followers standing in silence almost like terracotta soldiers. The cover has an overall solemn feel to it, with the ravaged landscape in the background and burnt out wrecks of military hardware in the foreground.

“The tree in the centre of the album cover is symbolic of life – that continues on. We are really pleased with what Dan Seagrave has created for us once again and we are proud to have his artwork on our album cover. We already have an idea for the next album cover and we hope that Dan will be able to do this for us too.”

The Silent Vigil – Tracklisting:

1. Soulless Parasite
2. Nothing Remains
3. From the Flames
4. The Silent Vigil
5. Bleed The Same
6. As Bridges Burn
7. The New Dark Ages
8. No Known Grave

As I have said previously, Devildriver is on hiatus while I rejoin Coal Chamber for a new record release and tour. Devildriver will be back, make no mistake of that, in 2016 with a new record which we are already writing, tours around the world and the massive pits you have all gotten used to. All in Devildriver wish John and Jeff the best.”

Over Your Threshold Posts Teaser For New Album "Facticity"

Germany’s Over Your Threshold has posted an album trailer featuring excerpts of all songs taken off new album “Facticity.” Watch the video below and also make sure to check out the band’s Metal Blade landing page right here. Over Your Threshold comments on the album and new single:

“The writing and recording process of ‘Facticity’ has extended over a longer period. Thus, each song imparts different elements and impressions caused by our different musical influences in the course of time. ‘Contextual Fluctuating’ is the last track we wrote for ‘Facticity.’ It’s pretty complex on the guitars and shows the progress of our songwriting compared to the older songs of the album. The concept of the song is that both guitars permanently play quite different riffs but all in all it fits together. That’s a stylistic element we will use more and more for future songs. This change in the songwriting is reflected in the lyrics as well. All things are fluctuating over time, nothing remains quiescent – everything changes with a new context.”

Head over to Metal Hammer right here to stream “Contextual Fluctuating,” the second single taken off “Facticity.”

The track listing is:

1. Cortical Blindness
2. Contextual Fluctuating
3. Obscure Mind Stasis
4. Self Exhibition
5. Desolation Row
6. Antic
7. Abdicated
8. Body Part Illusion
9. Facticity
