Sanctuary And Former Nevermore Vocalist Warrel Dane Dead At 48

Warrel Dane, the lead singer of Sanctuary and Nevermore, has passed away at the age of only 48 after suffering a heart attack during the night. He was on tour in Brazil, where guitarist told UOL;

“He died in the night. He had a heart attack. He was in the apartment where he stayed during the recording of the album when it happened. I gave him cardiac massage and we called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), who came very fast, but when they arrived, he was already dead.”

The singer first came to prominence with Sanctuary, with whom he released two studio albums, before forming Nevermore, which achieved considerable commercial success. After Nevermore folded, he revived Sanctuary and the band released a third album, “The Year The Sun Died” in 2014, with a fourth record, “Inception” following only this year. He will be greatly missed.

Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme Kicks Female Photographer In The Head At Live Show

Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme can be seen kicking a female photographer in the head in a clip streaming below, which was captured at KROQ Acoustic Christmas past Saturday.

The photographer – Chelsea Lauren – said the incident was unprovoked and that Homme was even smiling before he struck her. In the video, Homme can be seen walking past Lauren, then backtracking a step to kick away her camera.

“It was obviously very intentional,” she said.

It’s unknown if the 44 year-old Homme was under the influence of alcohol or drugs on Saturday. Minutes after the incident with Lauren, he pulled out what appeared to be a knife and cut his own forehead, producing a wound that bled for the rest of the performance. At one point, he called the sold-out audience “retards” before insulting the night’s headlining act, Muse. “F— Muse!” he exclaimed. He also encouraged the crowd to boo him, told everyone to take their pants off, saying, “I want to give you all a night you’ll never remember.”

Homme has since issued the below apology for the matter:

Broken Cross Completes Second LP “Militant Misanthrope” For Early 2018 Release

Swedish-based apocalyptic metal/hardcore outfit Broken Cross has completed its second LP, titled Militant Misanthrope, which is being finalized for release in February.

Following the path of the material found on the outfit’s recently-issued split 7″ with V.E.G.A.S., Broken Cross delivers its most searing material yet with Militant Misanthrope. The sound tone and quality of the new LP yields a heavily enriched sound which bears a vast difference to the earlier lo-fi recordings, with blazing elements of thrash metal heritage seeping its way into the boldly-produced album’s nine new anthems. Recorded at Studio Underjord in Norrköping, Sweden (Vanhelgd, Year Of The Goat, Griftegård), and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), Militant Misanthrope is completed with drawings inspired by the 1980s/90s anime style and werewolf folklore, created by Dwid Hellion (Integrity).

Militant Misanthrope will see release on February 2nd, on LP with Apocalyptic Visions, on cassette via Judas Chair Collective, and on CD through Psychic Rebellion. Stand by for audio samples, preorders, and more info on the album in the weeks ahead.

Militant Misanthrope Track Listing:

1. Vocationem
2. C.O.T.E.
3. Devil’s Daughters Dance
4. The Isolation Cult
5. Militant Misanthrope

Following the release of Militant Misanthrope, Broken Cross will perform its first live show ever at the Judas Chair Collective Festival 2018 in Helsinki, Finland March 16th through 18th, joining the likes of Circling The Drain, Remissions, Hail Conjurer, Sick World, Slave Hands, Dredged, Long Gone, Usko, Corroder, and more.

Broken Cross Live:
3/16-18/2018 Oranssi Ry – Helsinki, FI @ Judas Chair Collective Festival

The brainchild of one Niklas Holm, also the creator of death metal outfit Extermination Temple, Broken Cross has issued a wealth of singles and EPs since 2011, but it was the 2015-released Through Light To Night debut LP which saw the outfit’s tentacles writhe into the masses, surging with heavy inspiration from dark hardcore and punk influences, citing the likes of G.I.S.M. and Integrity.

Swedish Black Metal band Grafvitnir have announced the December 15 Carnal Records release of new album Keys to the Mysteries Beyond. A promo video for the album’s opening track, “Nidhögg,” is available below.

The driving force behind the band is, and has always been, Occultism and the never-ending quest for the enigmatic emerald of Lucifer. With the band’s fifth album, Grafvitnir are back from the frostbitten shadows of Scandinavia to eternally ignite the concealed spiritual Fire of the descendants of the Serpent, and to obtain the ancient Keys to the Mysteries Beyond.

Creptum Cover Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration” – New EP “Reborn In Flames” Out

Brazilian black metallers Creptum have posted a cover version of Depeche Mode’s classic “Black Celebration”, which is one of two tracks on the band’s recently released EP “Reborn in Flames” to follow their 2016 album “Of Lies, Curses and Blood” unleashed on Mutilation Records.

Listen to “Black Celebration” (Depeche Mode black metal cover) below.

The band comments:

“We chose to cover this Depeche Mode song because the lyrics are very consistent with our vision plus the music itself is great.”

Once again Creptum presents a complex work, loaded with symbolism and mystery on their new release “Reborn In Flames”.

Vocalist Tanatos (also responsible for the cover art) comments:
“The cover of ‘Reborn In Flames’ is directly linked to the concept of ‘Reborn In Darkness’ lyrics, which addresses the cycle of ascension and fall of the star Sirius, the brightest star of the night sky and loaded with symbolism, guiding elements for many ancient civilizations, and the counterpoint with the sun. In the image used on the cover (a real photo released by NASA), you can see a star in the foreground, having its light dazzled by the brightest star that glistens behind in a sky dense and black: Reborn in the dark, reborn in flames…”

Alterbeast To Release New Album “Feast” In February

Alterbeast’s new album, “Feast“ has been scheduled for a February 23rd release date, via Unique Leader Records. The album was engineered and mixed by Zack Ohren (Immolation, Fallujah) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA. Guitarist Andrew Lamb states of the outing, which features also studio drums from current Trivium drummer Alex Bent:

“I’ve never been more proud of a record then I am with Feast. We poured our hearts, souls, hate, and malice into this album, and I think it really shows. With the addition of Michael’s ‘take no prisoners’ vocals, and Alex Bent‘s ‘Beast-Mode’ style drumming; Feast is hands down our best album yet, and it will remind everyone that Wolftang Clan ain’t nothin’ to fuck with.”

Adds vocalist Michael Alvarez:

“When listening to the rough pre production I was immediately blown away at the how awesome the songs were! Both Andrew and Alex really killed it, inspiring me to deliver some of the best vocal tracks I have ever recorded!” I’m truly honored to have taken part on this record and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we enjoyed writing and recording it!”
Pre-orders and a new song are expected soon. In the meantime, the following track listing was unveiled for the release:

01 – “Welcome to Your Doom”

Girl Accuses Suicide Silence’s Frontman Eddie Hermida Of Sexual Misconduct

Suicide Silence/All Shall Perish frontman Hernan “Eddie” Hermida is among the latest artists to face allegations of sexual misconduct. This time, a girl, Verena Celis, has come forward to accuse Hermida of “emotionally and sexually manipulating” her while she was 17 and he was 32. She alleges that the Suicide Silence singer initiated the sending of nude photographs to each other. She alleges that Hermida had thought she had turned 18 at the time. She also goes on to provide various logs of her interactions with the musician on her Twitter account.

Furthermore, Celis claims that other girls have reached out to her citing similar behaviour by Eddie Hermida, who does not yet appear to have publicly responded to the allegations. Some of the tweets Verena Celis shared in her public accusation can be found below:

since we’re exposing pedophile band members, I have a story to tell

— verena (@thyartismxrder) November 13, 2017

I am NOT saying it wasn’t consensual but I was totally against sending nudes but he manipulated me in doing so. I was 17.

— verena (@thyartismxrder) November 13, 2017

This was the darkest time of my life. He manipulated me so hard and treated me so poorly I came to the point of committing suicide. And I tried. And then he was playing the victim

— verena (@thyartismxrder) November 13, 2017

this is what I sent him on the night I tried to kill myself. I swallowed an entire bottle of xanax and painkillers but it didn’t do the job pic.twitter.com/TRsThSMe8T

— verena (@thyartismxrder) November 13, 2017

One day he just assumed I was 18 and started sending nudes and tried to convince me I needed to, too. So I did. I NEVER did before.

— verena (@thyartismxrder) November 13, 2017

Long story short: Eddie Hermida is a manipulative cunt who has not only destroyed my life and self worth but also other girls. He tricked us into believing we were obsessive and crazy and didn’t mean shit to him. So much love for my girls who are speaking up
