New Album “Dawn Of Aquarius” Announced By Arrayan Path, New Single Available

Cypriot epic power metal act Arrayan Path returns with its sixth album “Dawn of Aquarius” just a little over a year since the band’s last offering “Chronicles of Light.” “Dawn of Aquarius” is out on November 17th in CD and digital formats via Pitch Black Records. A limited collector’s edition will be announced shortly. Pre-orders are available via the PBR Online Store or Bandcamp.

Check out the first single – the album’s title track via a lyric video available in the player below.

This album is as full as it gets, not only because of its thirteen tracks, but also because it includes everything that has always distinguished this band masterfully blended together creating a remarkable musical variety – from galloping fast and epic, to dark and doomy, exotic melodies and soaring epic vocals! It’s also one that reveals a somewhat darker side to the band, mainly due to the album’s central theme.

In the words of Nicholas Leptos (Warlord), the band’s frontman and driving force: “This album is 13 mantras honoring mother goddess Kali and explores all aspects of Hindu history and mythology in regards to the black Madonna – Kali. The album’s full name is actually ‘Dawn of Aquarius: Maha Kali Stuti’ and this is an album as varied as Kali’s many faces and traits.”

On this album, the band added some traditional folk instruments such as the oud and yaylin tambur. However, make no mistake – this is 100% Arrayan Path, complete with the catchy choruses and melodies and the band’s unique blend of 80s and 90s heavy metal.

The album was mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio and featuring guest vocal appearances by Andreas Paraschos (BLYND) and George Eracleous (ONEIRISM).

Frontiers Music Srl Inks Deal With Warlord

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to welcome legendary U.S. metal act Warlord to the family for the release of a new studio album in 2018!

Long admirers of the band and having gotten to know drummer Mark Zonder through his work with Graham Bonnet Band and the upcoming group, Spirits Of Fire, (which also features Tim Ripper Owens (Charred Walls Of The Damned, ex Iced Earth, Judas Priest), Chris Caffery (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), and Steve Di Giorgio (Death (Official), Testament, Sadus)), Frontiers approached Zonder about the prospect of doing a new Warlord album for release in 2018. Luckily for the label, Zonder and co-founder/guitarist William J. Tsamis were very much open to the idea. Says Zonder, “[a]fter all of these years, Warlord is with a ‘real label.’ It will be great to have Warlord music shared with a worldwide audience., which is something that has been missing for many years. With my prior working experiences with Frontiers, I know Warlord is in the right place and I am very appreciative of this great opportunity. We thank everyone at the label for their belief in Warlord!”

In September 2013, Tsamis and Zonder announced that they had tapped vocalist Nicholas Leptos of Arrayan Path and Astronomikon to be the new Warlord singer. This line-up, along with bassist Bynoe will be the line-up for the upcoming new album. Adds Zonder, “this Warlord release will be like all of the previous ones, 100% Warlord. No changing of direction to keep up with the current fad, just good ol’ school Warlord music. Maybe leaning back a touch to the early days and we promise a high energy album that features the classic Bill Tsamis compositions and his classic guitar melody lines. As I always try to do, I’ll give it my all in tandem with my favorite bass player Philip Bynoe, working together to create a solid foundation. This will be the first studio recording with Nicholas Leptos on vocals. We have performed live with him several times and are eagerly awaiting to capture his dynamic performances on tape. A classic Warlord album in the making……”

Stay tuned for updates as work on the album progresses….

Chainsheart Signs With Pitch Black Records

Pitch Black Records is pleased to announce the recruitment of Cyprus band Chainsheart, with the label issuing this statement:

“Chainsheart is a classic hard rock / heavy metal band from Cyprus comprised of seasoned musicians, all of whom are extremely passionate rockers and this is clearly evident throughout their music and performances.

“The band began in 2011 as the solo project of vocalist Yiannis Savva who soon after decided to form a band, thus Chainsheart was born.

“In late 2012 the band released a first album (‘Just Another Day’) as a self-release. A purely hard rock album, it received positive feedback from press and media. The band however underwent several line-up changes and has finally found its true sound and style – classic heavy metal.

“Chainsheart is now back with second album, titled ‘Leaving Planet Hell,’ an album filled with anthemic heavy metal tunes, melodic lines, energy and passion and of course that somewhat ‘old-school’ sound reminiscent of the good old days! Make no mistakes here; fists will be up high while headbanging will be non-stop upon listening to this album!”

New album “Leaving Planet Hell” features guest keyboards by Bob Katsionis (Firewind) and a guest vocal performance by Nicholas Leptos (Warlord, Arrayan Path). The album was mixed by Bob Katsionis at his own Sound Symmetry Studio in Athens, Greece. It will be out on June 5th (EU) / June 8th (UK) / June 9th (US) on CD and digital formats. Check out an advance song below, and pre-order your copy at at this location.

Armageddon Rev. 16:16 Inks Deal With Pitch Black Records

Pitch Black Records is extremely proud to announce the addition of Armageddon Rev. 16:16 to its artist roster and the release of upcoming album, “Sundown on Humanity,” on March 11th, 2014. The label comments:

“Armageddon Rev. 16:16 (aka Armageddon) is the longest living and most respected Cypriot metal band. The scene veterans were formed in 1985 and have kept active since then, mainly with their continuous live presence as well as their demo and EP releases. Of course their renowned 1993 s/t 12” EP needs no introduction as it is now considered a truly hard-to-find, major collector’s item internationally.

“‘Sundown on Humanity’ is actually the band’s first full length album after all these years, making this album an even more highly anticipated release! The band’s style remains true to its original beginnings of melodic classic heavy metal with some power and progressive elements fused in their style.

“The album line up sees original members Jimmy Mavrommatis on vocals, Kikis A. Apostolou on lead guitar and Elias A. Andreou on rhythm guitars joined by accomplished musicians Nikolas Papaeftychiou on bass and Kerry Elgar on drums (replaced recently by Evangelos Varnava).

“‘Sundown on Humanity’ includes guest appearances by Bob Katsionis (Firewind) on keyboards and guitar, Nicholas Leptos (Arrayan Path, Warlord), Tasos Karonias (R.U.S.T.) and Andreas Paraschos (Blynd) on vocals. Bob Katsionis also mixed and mastered the album at his own Sound Symmetry Studio in Athens, Greece.

“Featuring 12 tracks, ‘Sundown on Humanity’ clocks in at just over 58 minutes! Special mention should be made to the closing track of the album, ‘Icy Blackness (Kursk),’ a tribute to the crew of the Russian submarine ‘Kursk’ that perished in the summer of 2000. This song includes yet another guest appearance, that of Petros Leptos (Solitary Sabred), who lends his voice to create a haunting spoken intro.”

The full track listing is as follows:

1. E.K. 40 (Intro)
2. Human Sundown
3. Shades of Tomorrow
4. Strange Dreams
5. Fallen Angels and Lost Souls
6. Hypocrites of Destruction
