Once again building upon their signature sound, the follow up to 2014′s Where Greater Men Have Fallen is a more raw, “old school sounding” record than its predecessor. Hitting home with what vocalist A.A. Nemtheanga describes as “a direct energy” and wielding an urgency that is undeniable, the Irish quintet once again effortlessly blend elements of tragedy and might like no one else. Likewise, the evolution in their sound continues to be organic and unforced, ensuring that Exile Amongst The Ruins is essential listening for both their long term faithful and those only now drawn into their world.

Commenting about the album’s first single, ‘Stolen Years’, A.A. Nemtheanga added: “‘Stolen Years’ may seem like a strange choice as our lead single, and on the face of if I guess it is. It’s not a blood and thunder epic about tragedy and might and the ruin of nations, nor is it 9 minute epistle of doom. Have no fear, the album does contain those also but to open this time we chose something different. This album has some surprises and this is one of them, a short and painfully simple song which almost didn’t make the final cut if you can believe so. The video, cut by Costin Chioreanu, is about the journey involved in finally getting to that moment where you walk on stage, the song itself about that last night on earth that comes to us all, sometimes we never know when that might be, hold your loved ones tight tonight, this could be it…

Exile Amongst The Ruins track listing:
1. Nail Their Tongues
2. To Hell or the Hangman
3. Where Lie the Gods
4. Exile Amongst the Ruins
5. Upon Our Spiritual Deathbed
6. Stolen Years
7. Sunken Lungs
8. Last Call

To coincide with the album release the Irishmen have just announced two special and rather intimate album-release shows in Germany as well as their appearance on the Heathen Crusade European tour with Finnish MOONSORROW as co-headliners and German DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT as support act!

Good Tiger premieres new music video “Salt of the Earth” via Alternative Press

– January 17th, 2018 –

Sophomore album ‘We Will All Be Gone’ out February 9th, 2018 via Blacklight Media Records; announces spring tour with Protest The Hero

Rock quintet Good Tiger is thrilled to share their brand new video “Salt Of The Earth,” streaming now via Alternative Press, here: facebook.com. The track comes from the band’s forthcoming sophomore album, We Will All Be Gone, which is set to be released on February 9th, 2018 via Blacklight Media Records. Pre-orders are available now at metalblade.com/goodtiger

On the new video, guitarist Dez Nagle shares: “The video for ‘Salt Of The Earth’ was filmed during our last US tour, showing a small insight into our lives on the road. The song is a lot of fun to play live and we look forward to playing it on every continent we can in 2018.”

Good Tiger has also announced that they will be touring this spring as direct support for Protest The Hero. The tour kicks off on April 19th, and includes stops in New York City, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and more. For a full list of dates, please see below or visit: goodtiger.co

Blending their influences in a manner that defies lazy classification sets Good Tiger apart from their contemporaries, imbuing everything they do with a distinctive sound and feel, and with We Will All Be Gone, Good Tiger have dramatically built upon their stunning debut, 2015′s A Head Full Of Moonlight.

Comprised of guitarists Derya “Dez” Nagle and Joaquin Ardiles, bassist Morgan Sinclair, drummer Alex Rudinger, and vocalist Elliot Coleman, Good Tiger has raised the stakes across the board – every track on We Will All Be Gone has a definitive character of its own, and none stay in a single gear, all of them dynamic and textured as they evoke various tones and moods. Tracking at Middle Farm Studios in southwest England, the band recruited producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool/Dead Letter Circus), and engineer/mixer Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Periphery/Animals As Leaders). “We worked with Nolly on the last album, we had a great working relationship, and wanted to explore that further in a more developed situation,” Dez explains. “Forrester has made some of our favorite albums, and is someone we could trust steering the ship. Having self-produced for so long it can be at times quite difficult to let go, so it was important we found people we could fully entrust to help create the album we wanted to make.”

Good Tiger will release their sophomore album, We Will All Be Gone, on February 9th, 2018. To pre-order, please visit: metalblade.com/goodtiger

We Will All Be Gone track-listing:
1. The Devil Thinks I’m Sinking
2. Float On
3. Such a Kind Stranger
4. Blueshift
5. Salt of the Earth
6. Grip Shoes

And keeping Dime’s party tradition in full bloom,” and Pantera‘s Rex Brown adds, Dimebash, to me, is the epitome of celebrating his life and music all in one night! He was always about camaraderie, brotherhood and a killer f*ckin time! Dimebash Smokes On.”

Kyng‘s Eddie Veliz says, Dimebash is one of the best shows/parties Kyng has played. One of the greatest memories of my career happened at Dimebash 2016 when I had the pleasure of playing Pink Floyd‘s ‘Wish You Were Here’, the details to this story are very long winded but let’s just say it involved a couple of acoustic guitars and Dave Grohl. We are proud once again to play Dimebash 2018 because the proceeds always go to a good cause and a life is celebrated. Dimebag helped me mold the sound of Kyng through his music and I will always have a massive place in my heart for him, Rita Haney and the entire Pantera family.”

Former Motörhead Guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke Dead At 67

Former Motörhead guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke has died at the age of 67, it has been confirmed via Motörhead’s Facebook page:

“We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight – Edward Allan Clarke, or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke – passed away peacefully yesterday.

“Ted Carroll, who formed Chiswick Records, made the sad announcement via his Facebook page, having heard from Doug Smith that Fast Eddie passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia.

“Fast Eddie… keep roaring, rockin’ and rollin’ up there as goddamit man, your Motörfamily would expect nothing less!

“RIP Fast Eddie Clarke – 5th October 1950 – 10th January 2018.”

Clarke was introduced to Lemmy by drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor in the mid-70s and he joined Motörhead soon afterwards in 1976. He played on Motörhead’s self-titled 1977 debut album and also on 1979’s Overkill and Bomber, 1980’s Ace Of Spades and 1982’s Iron Fist.

Clarke left Motörhead while on tour in the US with the group following the release of Iron Fist. The guitarist reportedly was unhappy with how that effort turned out, and went on to form Fastway with ex-UFO bassist Pete Way.

Fastway released their self-titled debut album in 1983, and went on to release a further six studio releases – including the 2011 comeback album Dog Eat Dog.

Hamferð releases third single, “Stygd”

– January 10th, 2018 –

Doomsters Hamferð from the Faroe Islands will release their new full-length, Támsins likam , this Friday (January 12th) via Metal Blade Records! In anticipation of this release, the band has now launched the third single from the album – “Stygd” – at: metalblade.com/hamferd

At the same location, you can watch the lyric video for the first single, “Hon syndrast”, as well as the production video for the 2nd single, “Frosthvarv” – plus, pre-order the album in the following formats:

–jewelcase CD
–180g black vinyl
–dark grey marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–pastel violet marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–milky clear vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–transparent blue vinyl (TUTL exclusive – limited to 100 copies)
–light grey black marbled vinyl (US exclusive – limited to 200 copies)

Roughly translated as “Body of the mist”, Támsins likam is an attempt to create the most intriguing, honest and unique Hamferð experience yet. It is nothing less than a pinnacle; a culmination of many years of refining both sound and songwriting, spearheaded by a strong desire to keep progressing and expanding. This has resulted in an album bustling with elements ancient and familiar, violent and strange, earthen and spectral – all the while fiercely seeking to surprise and move the listener.

Once again recorded in Studio Bloch in the Faroe Islands, but this time mixed by the legendary Swedish sound wizard Daniel Bergstrand in his Dugout Productions studio, Támsins likam exhibits a rawer and more mature version of the known Hamferð sound. The somewhat harsh and bare soundscape deliberately contrasts with the refined compositions, while at the same time aligning with the increasingly honest and violent lyrical content.

“Faroese doom metal” is a powerful sound. Exclusive to this self-styled tag is Hamferð. For a near decade, the funeral dressed sextet has been casting a unique expression rooted in conceptual tragedy and intense, narrative doom metal.

Faroese history and folklore are mixed together with grand atmospheres, a trademark that has earned worldwide attention. Stages at festivals such as Inferno, Midgardsblot, Tuska, Summer Breeze, Wacken and many more have been turned into funerary ceremonies. Touring with bands like Amorphis and Moonsorrow has further garnered the band a respected reputation due to strong yet solemn live performances.

The lyrical and conceptual approach is ambitious in scope. People are drawn to it, even though the band sings in their native tongue, Faroese. With a highly engaging idea concerning lyrics and songwriting, the hour has arrived to close a conceptual trilogy which commenced with the 2010 EP Vilst er siðsta fet, continued with the internationally acclaimed 2013 full-length album Evst, and is now concluded with Támsins likam .

Támsins likam track-listing:
01. Fylgisflog
02. Stygd
03. Tvístevndur meldur
04. Frosthvarv
05. Hon Syndrast
06. Vápn í anda

Hamferð line-up:

Swedish death metallers Lik sign to Metal Blade Records

– January 10th, 2018 –

In the dirt where fallen icons lay to rest, the maggots and seeds spawned in 2014 a new creation. This took the ugly form of Lik, which fittingly means corpse in Swedish. An un-dead creation which offers a plate of savory old school death metal.

Metal Blade welcomes Lik to their roster. Lik comments: “The huge impact Metal Blade has had on the scene is something you can’t overlook, and being a part of this family is a ‘pinch yourself to see if you’re dreaming’ scenario! We can’t stress enough about how psyched we are and it’s just another sign that no frills death metal is still alive and breathing!”

Walking the earth for three cold winters, and with the first offer named Mass Funeral Evocation, it’ll have a sister released in May of 2018.

Lik has no passage as this entity is devoted to make a permanent mark on those who lay down their souls to Rock’n’Roll. The possessed souls to carry out the sonics are Tomas Akvik (Guitar/Vocals), Niklas Sandin (Guitar/Bass) and Christofer Barkensjo (Drums).

Due out February 9th, Fight the Fight can be pre-ordered now at: blacklightmediarecords.com/fightthefight – where a new video (directed by Kyrre Larsen) for the album track “The Other Side” can be viewed.

Fight the Fight comments: “We are super stoked to show you guys the video for ‘The Other Side’. This is a song about choosing sides, having a look inside your own truth and what makes you – you. Fuck the expectations of others or the society. Fight for it, be yourself.

2. The Edge
3. The Other Side
4. Perfect Combination
5. Addictions

Barely breaking into their twenties, Fight the Fight has already been a band – though under a different name (Faenskap) – for more than a decade. It’s the classic story of childhood friends and schoolmates whose dreams and ambitions run high, and ultimately form a band together. Pushing the whole project to the limit of their capabilities, they succeeded in reaching their goal: creating a record that reflects their vision of what’s to come. Not your average album, this mature, well-composed rock/metal grenade immediately explodes with memorable hooks, catchphrases and choruses, and the rock, punk, metal and black metal elements are woven into a unique and progressive sound. With this debut, it is clear that Fight the Fight is destined for great things.

The Crown comments: “We are really looking forward to finally be able to show our fans how damn good this band can be when the circumstances are right. With that I mean to be able to do an album the way we want to do it: creating as a band, rehearsing as a band, recording as a band. With their motivation at an all-time high, The Crown spent most of 2017 intensely rehearsing 13 new songs. They eventually entered the classic Studio Fredman with Fredrik Nordstrom to record what would become their new album, Cobra Speed Venom. The sound is massive, brutal and a real punch in the face. Extreme speed and aggression mixed with classic heavy metal and rock n’ roll, which really shows that The Crown has no boundaries.
