New Album “Imperium” Detailed By The Kennedy Veil

California death metal legion The Kennedy Veil will release the newest full-length “Imperium” on October 20th via Unique Leader Records. The eight-track offering was produced, mixed, and mastered by Zack Ohren (Animosity, Suffocation, All Shall Perish et al) at Castle Ultimate Productions and features guest appearances by Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder, Sven de Caluwé of Aborted, and Dickie Allen of Infant Annihilator. It comes swathed in the cover art of Robert Cook (see it below).

The occult has been a construct within civilizations all over the world, varying in degree and modernity, but always present. Each individual culture derives its occultism from the dark myths that permeate within its subconscious hive mind. America as a culture — as an experiment — has been volatile since day one. Plagued by a history of genocide, slavery, and corruption, its burgeoning occult is in its fragile yet violent infancy. Imperium highlights themes of this encapsulation: That is, fear, myth, despair, and humanity’s inclination toward utter corruption.

Taking influence from a purer, more ancient evil of European descent, The Kennedy Veil has incorporated symphonic, blackened themes that parallel the lyrical aesthetic. Moving one step away from the more technical side and two steps into a deeper, darker, more blackened aggression.

Issues the band: “We are beyond excited to bring you our newest and greatest interpretation of darkness and intensity: ‘Imperium.’ This album shows our maturation not only as musicians but as individuals seeking truth amongst a never before seen landscape of obfuscation and evil. These eight songs came from our hands to warn of the oncoming desolation our culture is awaiting. We give you Imperium. A new chapter in The Kennedy Veil tome. Nowhere is safe.”

Preorders for Imperium will be available in the coming weeks. The track list is:

1. Godslaughter
2. Legacy Left
3. Hunted To Extinction
4. Draconian
5. Last Born
6. Flesh Of The Sun
7. Dawning Of Wrathful Deities
8. Seething Rot

Devil Premieres Full-Album Stream Of New Album “To The Gallows”

The Norwegian doom rockers in Devil premiere the full-album stream of their new album “To The Gallows”, out in stores now via Soulseller Records.

Check out now “To The Gallows” in its entirety below.

Comments the band:

“Bands always say that their newest effort is their greatest. We say fuck that. This is a heavy rock album, and it’s up to the listener to decide how good it is. We’re darned proud of it, though, and think it sums up the first era of Devil pretty good, with maybe our most heavy metal parts so far, but still building around The Riff, the main ingredient in any heavy metal song writing. We like to think we’ve come a long way these years, and are happy to end our first trilogy with this album. We’re more of a band than ever, and joint efforts have made further improvements to the band. We’d say this is an album still for fans of Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Witchfinder General, etc, but also touching into the 1981 NWOBHM quite a bit, especially on the title track.”

Moon Tooth Posts “Queen Wolf” Guitar Playthrough

Today, Gear Gods presents a playthrough video showing Moon Tooth guitarist Nick Lee ripping through “Queen Wolf,” the first single off his band’s upcoming full-length debut, “Chromaparagon.” Check it out below.

Also the newest member of classic ’80s metal act Riot, guitarist Lee plays with soul and grace, coaxing a whole spectrum of color out of his instrument. His musicianship propels Moon Tooth’s sound – a complex yet groovin’ mix of rock, metal and blues, with some parallels to The Mars Volta, Between the Buried and Me, and Mastodon, as well as older bands like Into Another.
