Hivesmasher Posts New Song "The Shit Waltz" Online

Boston-based blog Nefarious Realm premieres new music today from fellow Massachusetts natives Hivesmasher as part of “BMA Week,” a week devoted to Black Market Activities and the label’s fall releases. Stream Hivesmasher’s “The Shit Waltz” at this location.

Hivesmasher’s debut for BMA, “Gutter Choir,” hits stores October 23rd. The band’s own description of its sound is “a giant middle finger waved in the world’s general direction.”

Nefarious Realm’s own Matt Darcy also introduced Metalunderground readers to Hivesmasher back in August when he contributed a guest “Unearthing the Metal Underground” column on Boston bands. Read the full thing at this location. The following press release was also issued about Hivesmasher:

“An all-out destructive force, rooted in grindcore but freely veering off into hardcore, death metal, or thrash at will, Hivesmasher proudly revel in a distinctly ‘New England’ brand of bad vibes. One of the most visible, hardworking bands in the Northeast today, Hivesmasher are, despite their misanthropic boasts, proof that the altruistic DIY ethic is alive and well in the underground.

“A true-to-life depiction of Hivesmasher’s technical yet raw sound, Gutter Choir was recorded entirely in ‘living rooms, closets, and basements’ and is devoid of studio trickery. The album contains guest vocals from The Red Chord frontman and Black Market Activities boss Guy Kozowyk, as well as Fit For an Autopsy/Premonitions of War vocalist Nate Johnson and others.”
