Nachtmystium Signs With Prophecy Productions

Well, it finally happened. A label with an apparent total lack of pattern recognition has signed the reactivated Nachtmystium. Good luck Prophecy Productions — you’re going to need it. Prophecy issued this statement:

“The group has completed work on a new EP titled ‘Resilient,’ which was recorded at Belle City Sound in Racine, Wisconsin with engineer Chris Djuric. Additional recording sessions also occurred in Norway, Germany, and the band’s home base of California before tracking from all contributing members was complete. ‘Resilient’ is slated for an early 2018 release date via Prophecy.

“Now sober, Judd continues to rebuild his life, both personally and professionally. As part of Nachtmystium joining the Prophecy Productions family of artists, the band will release future recordings through the label, who will also reissue much of the group’s extensive back catalog. The new union supersedes the band’s previously-announced deal with Earache Records.”

Guitarist / vocalist Blake Judd comments: “Nachtmystium is extremely honored to be working with Prophecy Productions. It is a true pleasure for me to have been able to develop a personal relationship with the Prophecy label staff in Southern California. We are able to meet face-to-face regularly and work together at creating the best possible environment for Nachtmystium to begin to rebuild it’s way back into the metal community after some very dark years and times that I have spent the majority of the last two years cleaning up the debris from.

“With past misdoings being corrected, new bridges built (and some old bridges rebuilt), and a few exclusive 2017 live performances under our belts, we feel as though the band has taken massive strides forward in recovering from its damaged state after my seven year run with severe heroin addiction. Those dark days are now behind me, the band and all whose lives we effect in one way or another. Onward and upward is the attitude and goal here, as Nachtmystium’s ascension returns to its past form. Expect to hear a lot of new music and news from our camp in 2018.”

Nachtmystium Returns To The Stage, Offers Refunds To Fans Who Never Received Merch

Its been a long, winding path for Nachtmystium from “Reign of the Malicious” back in ’02 to the hey day of the “Black Meddle” albums around 2010, and onto a very public fall from grace due to addiction and fleecing fans out of cash that resulted in Century Media booting the band.

It looks like the group is finally ready to return to the scene, and efforts are in place to make amends for those who got screwed over on ordering merch and albums that never showed up.

After several years of being on hiatus, Nachtmystium returned to the stage in L.A. on July 7th, where the band offered refunds to anyone who was previously ripped off. Footage from the show can be seen below, and the group also posted on Facebook:

“Its happening….now. Nachtmystium’s first show in nearly five years. The band goes on at midnight. Nice big crowd here….we are thrilled to be back and to see all of you that are here tonight. Merchandise is available AND we are issuing cash refunds / merchandise for anyone whom may have ordered between 2012 – 2014 and didn’t receive an order. Just come see us at the merch table, we will get you sorted out and also refund you for the fee you were charged at the door…the show tonight is on us of you were victimized in the past.”

Dark Fortress Recruits Phenex As Permanent Keyboardist

After re-signing with Century Media earlier this month, Dark Fortress has now issued the following announcement about officially recruiting a keyboardist:

“Phenex joins Dark Fortress as permanent member. Phenex already played more than 30 shows with us as live keyboard player, so in a sense it was overdue to welcome him in the band as full member.

“Phenex played his first tour with the band in 2012 when Dark Fortress joined Nachtmystium on their European tour. Since then he played several festivals with us, a UK tour in 2013 and the entire ‘Venereal Dawn’ European tour in 2014. In the meanwhile he also got well respected as live keyboard player for bands like Satyricon and Ruins of Beverast.

“After our longtime keyboard player Paymon left the band last year after 16 years of membership, it feels right to be a six-piece again officially. Welcome on board, Phenex!”

Bathed In Placenta Streaming New Song “Nemesis”

Bathed In Placenta has a new single out now for the track “Nemesis,” which can be heard below and features special guest vocalist Saud Ahmed of The Holy Guile (Ex-vocalist of The Crimson Armada).

The “Nemesis” track is taken from Bathed In Placenta’s EP “Legions,” which for some reason has the exact same artwork as Nachtmystium’s “Addicts: Black Meddle Pt. II.”
