Campaign Launched To Have Napalm Death Play MTV Music Week Festival

A campaign has been launched to have grindcore pioneers Napalm Death perform at the upcoming MTV Music Week event, a four day long pop festival which is also expected to feature include quadruple platinum selling girl group Little Mix and former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, although no names have been confirmed as of yet. Popular bookmakers Paddy Power has Napalm Death at 12/1 to be added to the festival, above other British mainstream acts like Professor Green. A poll to determine which act festival goers would most like to see is running at the Plymouth Argus.

Napalm Death are no strangers to playing outside their comfort zone, having previously played the Glastonbury Festival in 2017 (which was headlined by Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran and Radiohead) and this year will perform at the Boomtown Fair, alongside such acts as Lauryn Hill and UB40. They’ve also appeared in mainstream shows such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks, TFI Friday and the Craig Charles presented children’s show, What’s That Noise?

Metal Underground recently spoke with Napalm Death frontman Barney Greenway, discussing progress on their new album, the status of guitarist Mitch Harris, Brexit and his time with Extreme Noise Terror (who are also playing this year’s Boomtown Fair.) You can check it out below.

Sodom To Release New EP, “Partisan” In November

Attention all Sodom fans, there’s exciting news from Tom Angelripper & Co. On the one hand, the band are currently at the studio to record new material, on the other their next shows are scheduled for early September, and the end of November will see the start of their extensive MTV Headbangers Ball Tour 2018 alongside Exodus, Death Angel and Suicidal Angels.

And as if that wasn’t enough great news, the best bit of intelligence comes directly from the thrash metal act’s inner circle…

“We’re a real family again,” enthuses frontman Angelripper following the band’s lineup change in spring 2018. “We all really enjoy the new lineup consisting of Frank Blackfire (guitar, ex-Sodom, ex-Kreator, Assassin), Yorck Segatz (guitar, Beyondition), Husky (drums, Asphyx, Desaster) and myself. There’s a real team spirit again, we’re having a great time together, every one of us is interested in everything and – really important! – everybody is there for everybody else. Obviously that kind of atmosphere is bound to have a positive effect on the songwriting.”

Examples? Sodom’s new Partisan EP will be out in November, featuring three tracks including a live recording from this year’s Rock Hard Festival. The new lineup could hardly present itself in a more impressive manner!

Partisan will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on November 23rd as CD digipak, 10″ clear vinyl, download and stream.

Tracklisting:

1. Partisan
2. Conflagration
3. Tired & Red (Live at the Rock Hard Festival 2018)

Integrity Debut New Music Video For Their Take On “Sons Of Satan”

Integrity‘s new music video for their take on “Sons Of Satan” is streaming below. The track is a re-recorded cover version of Integrity vocalist Dwid Hellion‘s project Vermapyre.

Comments frontman Hellion of the video:

“The ‘Sons Of Satan‘ music video is intended to appear like a demented remnant of a 1980s MTV video. One that has decayed and fermented for the past 3 decades, until morphing into an abomination.”

Pierce The Veil Debuts New Video “Today I Saw The Whole World”

Pierce The Veil debuts a video for its single “Today I Saw The Whole World”. Dan Fusselman (August Burns Red, Neck Deep) directed the video.

Says vocalist Vic Fuentes the following of it:

“I grew up watching massive amounts of MTV music videos throughout the 90’s. I would record all of my favorites on VHS tape, watching them over and over until the tape wore out. Our new video was inspired by some of these artists that I loved back then like the Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill and Marilyn Manson. We wanted to use this 90’s look to visually express the lyrics and fury inside of the song.”

Warrant Announces “Louder Harder Faster” Album Release

Frontiers Music srl is pleased to announce the release of Warrant’s new studio album, “Louder Harder Faster,” this coming May 12th, 2017.

To date, Warrant has eight million records sold worldwide, two Top Ten Billboard albums, five Top 40 Billboard hits, and five #1 MTV videos. Now, six years after the release of “Rockaholic,” the album that relaunched the band as a force to be reckoned with in the 21st century, Warrant returns with another slab of muscular hard rock, aptly titled “Louder Harder Faster.”

With a line-up featuring original members, Erik Turner, Jerry Dixon, Joey Allen, and Steven Sweet along with singer Robert Mason (Lynch Mob, Cry of Love), Warrant is now stronger than ever, with production handled by Foreigner and ex-Dokken bass player Jeff Pilson.

Erik Turner says, “You can hear and feel the emotions of the last 25 + years of being in this band poured into ‘LHF.’ The fun and the frustrations, the pleasure and the pain… a whole lot of blood, sweat, tears and beers went into the making of this album. Love it or hate it, its the real fuckn deal, 100% pure melodic hard rock. Hand crafted by five musicians who dedicated their lives to music when they were just little kids with big dreams.”

Jerry Dixon adds, “‘Louder Harder Faster’ is truly one of our best records to date. It has all the classic Warrant ingredients that people have come to know, plus a lot of extras that keep it in the modern realm of todays music. It’s a perfect mix between Balls and Ballads. When we started this project over two years ago, we wanted to bring the listener back to the days of sitting in the living room and cranking up a record from start to finish. Making full records seems to be a lost art, we hope in some small way that this album helps people find that art again.”

1. Louder Harder Faster
2. Devil Dancer
3. Perfect
4. Only Broken Heart
5. U In My Life
6. Music Man
7. Faded
8. New Rebellion
9. Big Sandy
10. Choose Your Fate
11. Let It Go
12. I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink (Bonus Track available on CD ONLY)

Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Boston’s rock/metal outfit Gozu. Formed in 2010, the four-piece have released one EP and three full-lengths to-date, and are currently writing their fourth studio album, set for a 2017 release.

Gozu comments: “We are extremely excited to be signed to Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records, started by celebrity Chef Chris Santos and partnered with legendary Metal Blade founder and CEO, Brian Slagel. The 4 members of Gozu couldn’t be happier. This is why we plug in every night.”

Chris Santos (Blacklight Media) adds: “I caught Gozu at Brooklyn’s Metal Bar Lucky 13 Saloon and they blew me away. By the second song in their set, I began sending Brian real time video of the show. Gozu represents the bands that I look for for BLM; It’s hard to articulate, but you know it when it grabs you by the throat.”

Gozu heave the rock, yet embody the soul on their past releases. Fronted by Marc Gaffney on vocals and guitar, Doug Sherman on guitar, Joe Grotto on bass, and Mike Hubbard on drums, the band’s sound is tailor-made for blasting out the car speakers via international radio airwaves. Having already been aired on national television (USA) via MTV (‘Road Rules’, ‘Dudesons’, ‘Real World’), NBC, and NASCAR, Gozu aims to take their critical and commercial success to new heights on their upcoming debut for Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records, with worldwide touring to follow. Previously, the group shared the stage with the likes of St. Vitus, Pallbearer, Lo Pan, Storm of Light, Helmet, Elder, Mos Generator, and Fu Manchu in the States, as well as Yob, Church of Misery and Kvelertak in Europe at Roadburn (Netherlands) and DesertFest Berlin (Germany). 2017 will surely see Gozu back on the road again, and at the forefront of the heavy rock and metal world.
