God Dethroned comments: “‘The World Ablaze‘ is our final album in the WWI trilogy. We aimed to create an album that is very dynamic and diverse. It contains typical GD riffing with loads of melodies and catchy hooks. The songs are perfect for our live shows as they contain many mid-tempo parts combined with faster and more brutal parts. Diversity to the max! Dan Swano mixed the album in his typical fashion but without robbing the band of its own identity. Mastering was handled at the Wisseloord Studios where they also mastered albums for bands like Rammstein, among many others, and they put the icing on the cake. The album sounds crystal clear and heavy as fuck at the same time. We are very proud to present this album during our upcoming Serpent Fest album release shows early May!”

Red Fang Details New Album “Only Ghost”

Red Fang recently announced the October 14th release of “Only Ghosts” via Relapse Records. The band is als now streaming “Flies,” a new song from the Ross Robinson-produced album.

“Only Ghosts” was recorded earlier this year at Robinson’s Venice, California studio. In a recent Revolver Magazine interview, bass player Aaron Beam joked that the experience of working beachside was “pretty miserable,” later adding that working with Ross encouraged the band to take a different approach to recording. “He really digs into the meaning behind the songs so that when you’re recording, you’re doing it with conviction and purpose. It’s less about the little technical things. He’s more concerned with getting a performance and focusing on what you’re trying to give the world by making this music in the first place.”

Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Melvins) mixed the album. “Working with Ross and Joe on this record was a huge leap forward for us,” said the band jointly. “The process was very challenging and rewarding, and I think we’re a better band for it. This album expresses exactly where we’re at. We’re super proud of it and can’t wait for people to hear it!”

1. Flies
2. Cut It Short
3. Flames
4. No Air
5. Shadows
6. Not For You

New Album “Barsarkagang” To Be Released By Raubtier

Swedish industrial metal war machine Raubtier (German for “predator”) will issue the fifth full length album “Barsarkagang” on February 19th via Despotz Records.

The trio’s (Hulkoff – Vocals, guitar, Kjellgren – Bass and drummer, Buffeln) first physical North American release, “Barsarkagang” was produced by the band and recorded at Terrorfabriken in Hasparanda and Black Lounge Studios in Parlby. Jonas Kjellgren mixed the album at Black Lounge. It is the third Raubtier release to feature Scar Symmetry guitarist Jonas Kjellgren on bass. “Joining Raubtier was not like joining any other band I’ve been in, it’s more like a brotherhood of men made out of steel!,” says Kjellgren.

From the aggressive, industrialized coldness of current single “Bothniablod” (“Bothnia Blood,” which refers to the Swedish-Finnish borderlands and the Gulf of Bothnia) to the military march of “Den Sista Kulan” (“The Last Bullet”) and the epic traditional metal attack of “Tropaion” straight through to the proto thrash metal maelstrom that is “Praetoria,” Barsarkagang hits it’s mark, no matter the language.

Barsarkagang follows “Bestia Borealis,” a “best of” compilation of sorts released in late 2014, helping the band find an audience outside of Sweden for the first time. The album was met with overwhelmingly favorable reviews and resulted in an upshot of thousands of new sales and more than a million Spotify streams. All of this despite the band’s insistence upon Hulkoff’s insistence upon singing in his native Swedish. Hulkoff explains, “I find it both challenging and rewarding to write and sing in my native tongue. The primeval force, the “urkraft” of the old north, is still dwelling inside the Scandinavian languages. I am constantly seeking that power.”

More information on the album is expected soon.

Ad Nauseam Releasing New Album “Nihil Quam Vacuitas Ordinatum Est”

On March 31st, Lavadome Productions will release “Nihil Quam Vacuitas Ordinatum Est,” the debut album from Italian quartet Ad Nauseam. The label also comments:

“‘Nihil Quam Vacuitas Ordinatum Est’ lights the path into the realms of atonal and dissonant discomfort, while erupting into ominous, lacerating death metal riffing of highest caliber. The mind blowing, punishing tension results in an experience is harrowing and mesmerizing at once.

“The dual vocal attack reinforces the full front assault, one that is seamlessly integrated with contemporary classical influences (including piano and violins from guitarist Andrea P.). Indeed the growing effect of the record twists the nervous system beyond the limits of sanity (one’s perception). The floodgates of creativity are fully open and many powers channeled.

“The album was five years in the making and well worth the wait. The band has recorded and mixed the album in their own studio, even making some of its own equipment to capture the sound exactly as intended. The painstaking effort was driven by passion, energy, and creativity, collectively harnessed to ensure that mediocrity was crushed in the quest to create something relatively unique without abandoning familiar (and beloved) death metal constructs. ‘Nihil Quam Vacuitas Ordinatum Est’ will undoubtedly appeal to fans of Gorguts, Ulcerate, Hate Eternal, Deathspell Omega, Human Remains, Ved Buens Ende and other genre visionaries.”

The track listing is as follows:

1. My Buried Dream
2. Key To Timeless Laws
3. La Maison Diev
4. Into The Void Eye
5. Terror Haze
6. Lost In The Antiverse
7. The Black Veil Of Original Flaw
8. Superimposing Mere Will And Sheer Need

New Album “Up The Dosage” Detailed By Nashville Pussy, Sample Posted

One of the most unusual and charismatic rock acts have announced the release of the latest studio album for January 2014. More precisely: the American quartet Nashville Pussy are set to present their new studio recording “Up The Dosage” on January 21, 2014 in North America, in Germany on January 17, 2014 and Europe on January 20, 2014.

“Up the Dosage” picks up seamlessly where their 2009 release “From Hell To Texas” left off. And what is more: their five-year hiatus seems to have done frontman Blaine Cartwright (vocals, guitar) and Ruyter Suys (guitars) good – all 13 new songs (plus two bonus tracks) sound like they were catapulted into to the public from a fountain of youth, rocking in typical Pussy style. Up the Dosage features the first recordings from new bassist Bonnie Buitrago who took over the bass player duties from Karen Cuda.

Frontman Blaine Cartwright commented on the addition of Bonnie to the band: “Bonnie originally tried out for Nashville Pussy 12 years ago. When we needed a replacement for Karen a couple of years ago, we were lucky that she was available. She’s a Southern California native who is a great musician who has given our rock a more solid roll!”

Rick Beato, known for his production work with Shinedown, mixed the album. The first audio sample of the track “The South’s Too Fat to Rise Again” is available for streaming via SoundCloud (also heard in the player below).

“The song is about how fucking fat everyone in the south has got. Me included! It’s hard to preach about Southern Pride when you can’t touch your toes,” exclaims frontman Blaine Cartwright.

“Up The Dosage” will be released in the following formats: limited digipak edition (incl. 2 bonus tracks + poster), double gatefold LP edition with colored vinyl, standard version and download.

The track list is:

1. Everybody’s Fault But Mine
2. Rub it to Death
3. Till the Meat Falls off the Bone
4. The South’s Too Fat to Rise Again
5. Before the Drugs Wear Off
6. Spent
7. Beginning of the End
8. Up The Dosage
9. Taking it Easy
10. White and Loud
11. Hooray For Cocaine, Hooray For Tennessee
12. Pillbilly Blues
13. Pussy’s Not a Dirty Word
