Surfacing from the heart of South Florida, Miami’s ABIOITIC transcends high above the rest with a most preternatural sound. By interweaving well-cultivated musical dexterity and pronounced lyrical finesse, ABIOITIC epitomizes an unwonted entity of unmatched musicianship. In a short amount of time since the quintet’s inception in 2010, this ghoulish coterie has made a paramount impact in the death metal scene and support from the masses continues to grow. The five-piece group consists of vocalist Ray Jimenez, bassist Alex Vazquez, drummer Andres Hurtado and guitarists Matt Mendez and Johnathan Matos. The band has released two singles and a seven song studio EP entitled A Universal Plague. “Vermosapien”, the second track on the EP, is featured as the quintet’s first music video, directed by Dan Drescher.

The video for “Vermosapien”, as well as the song “To Burgeon and Languish”, are streaming now on metalblade.com/abiotic. Additionally, fans can stream the instrumental track, “Hegira”, at guitarworld.com.

Polish death metal act Vader has checked in with the following statement about the band’s upcoming tour activity through the end of the year and beginning of 2013:

“Tomorrow Vader will start their overseas journey to South America. They will visit Columbia, Venezuela, Peru, and Argentina. We plan a second leg of the tour at the end of 2012.

“Due to their performance at the Metalfest Open Airs in May, Vader will not be seen on most of the major summer festivals. Nevertheless, we have confirmed Ragnarock Open Air (20.08), Queens of Metal (21.08) and Fist Full of Metal (01.09).

“At the end of August Vader will also set off for the long awaited tour in smaller Polish towns as a sequel of Blitzkrieg VI! It will be a mega treat for Vader fans, as Peter already announced that they will play all ‘Black To The Blind’ and ‘Sothis.’ The main part of this tour will take place at the end of 2012 and will cover over 14 dates with Polish supports.

“In November Vader will go to China for their first tournee in this country. We are working on their come-back to USA and Canada. There will also be a European tour at the beginning of 2013 with Vader as a headliner.”

Gorthaur’s Wrath Announces Guest Drummer Christian Bass For New Album

Gorthaur’s Wrath had previously announced that Triptykon’s Norman Lonhard would be appearing on the band’s new album. The group has now issued the following update about Lonhard being unavailable for the recording and recruiting a new guest drummer:

“Much sought after German drummer Christian Bass (White Eyes, ex-Der Weg Einer Freiheit, Night In Gales, Heaven Shall Burn-Live) will join Gorthaur’s Wrath in the studio for the recordings of the band’s upcoming album ‘War For Heaven’ on a yet-undisclosed label.

“He is also involved in writing the drum part and so being part of the whole record. This is a top addition to the band’s ranks and another great step for Gorthaur’s Wrath to release a top new album later this year.

“Christian Bass will also exclusively appear live with Gorthaur’s Wrath at the Metalfest in Zadar/Croatia where the band will present new songs and the new line up on stage for the first time.

“Until the record is done check out Chris’s website and Facebook.

“Chris is replacing Norman Lonhard (Triptykon, Pigeon Toe) who can’t join us, as posted earlier, because of his schedule.”
