New Single “Lex” Released By Mindful

Brisbane has a brand new melodic hardcore outfit – and its name is Mindful. The four-piece debuted the first single “Lex” along with a video! The track “Lex” is out now on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify. Check out the clip in the player below.

Mindful hails from from Brisbane, Australia, created from the ashes of former Brisbane bands, First Sight and What We’re Worth.

Vocalist Lloyd Colligan is stoked as to be releasing their debut track. “We are super excited to be releasing this. This is a long time coming. We hope to bring a brand of music to the table that is simple, melodic, emotional and direct. We are super excited to get back on touring circuit and run amok with friends This is only a taste of what’s to come but we are proud of the sound and style we have come up with as a band. This music feels like home to us. It’s something we love to play and we hope that people can enjoy it in the same light.”

Lloyd expands on the lyrical content, “This song means a lot to me, and it is no coincidence that this was the first song we are releasing. Lyrically, it’s very direct and emotive and honestly, pretty depressing – but that’s what it’s about. It’s about being depressed and experiencing that feeling of being trapped in a mind that is starting to give up. This feeling comes around all too often to such a huge proportion of the world, and it seems to be happening more and more. Mental Illness has only recently started to be taking seriously. Look at what just happened in Las Vegas. People are sick and this world is poisoning them.”

“”I feel the flutter up my neck, I feel the chill from its scent” refers to the creeping up of that feeling: depression, mental exhaustion. It’s a haunting feeling, and too many people that I love and know have experienced that feeling in its darkest way. Hopefully the lyrics don’t get taken the wrong way (especially the chorus – it’s pretty direct), but people can interpret them the way they want. All I hope to bring is an emotion that is relatable to people that might be feeling the same thing or isolated and alone because of these feelings that cloud their mind in the darkest way.”

Whores Posts New Song “Mental Illness As Mating Ritual”

Atlanta power trio Whores just debuted an all new single titled “Mental Illness As Mating Ritual,” which is the third track we’ve heard from forthcoming debut LP “Gold.”

“’Mental Illness As Mating Ritual’ is a super personal song,” says frontman and guitarist Christian Lembach. “It’s sort of about four different things: parallel universes, health care, circuses and laundry. Everyone experiences suffering at some point, and some people hurt so much and for so long that a healthy and fulfilling life can feel like it’s make-believe.”

Whores will release “Gold” on October 28th, 2016 via Entertainment One (eOne) and features the following track listing:

1. Playing Poor
2. Baby Teeth
3. Participation Trophy
4. Mental Illness as Mating Ritual
5. Ghost Trash
6. Charlie Chaplin Routine
7. Of Course You Do
8. I See You Are Also Wearing a Black Tee Shirt
9. Bloody Like The Day You Were Born

Armahda Premieres New Lyric Video “Queen Mary Insane”

Brazillian power-thrashers Armahda premiere a new lyric video for “Queen Mary Insane”, taken from the band’s self-titled album.

Check out now “Queen Mary Insane” below.

Explains the band:

“Once she had disembarked in Brazil with the royal family to escape Napoleon, the Queen screamed in fear of demons surrounding her. This incident earned her the nickname ‘Queen Maria I, the Mad’. There are rumors that relate her ‘madness’ with a mental illness manifested after the deaths of her husband and her eldest son, whom she allegedly refused to vaccinate against variola (smallpox) because of her religious beliefs. Damaging acts enacted by Queen Maria I such as the prohibition of manufacturing in the Portuguese colony and heavy taxation on gold from mining efforts served as a trigger for riots and prompted the Minas Gerais Conspiracy.”
