Check out now “Last Light” below.

Explains frontman Dani Winter-Bates:

“Last Light is about the acceptance of death, the video uses animation which is something we’ve never done and it’s turned out awesome… It can be taken two ways – either the loss of sanity whilst grieving for a loved one or the literal descent into the after life. I feel like the song itself shows a lot more of our melodic side.”

Griever To Release Debut Full-Length “Our Love Is Different”

Vitriol Records kicks off 2015 with the February 24th release of Griever’s debut full-length, “Our Love Is Different.”

From San Diego, Griever features vocalist/guitarist Alex Jacobelli and drummer Cory Groenenberg, both members of former Deathwish Inc. hardcore punkers Lewd Acts.

In Griever, Jacobelli belts out world-weary gruffness and lights up the skies with radiant guitars, while Groenenberg drives forward, steady and straight as a tunnel-borer. Along with guitarist guitarist Orlando Ramirez and bassist Wes Sisk, they pound out an impassioned racket – a heavy, rock-solid version of post-hardcore that pummels and uplifts, equally – inspired by the melodic sludge of the Melvins-Karp-Floor-Torche circle as well as the garage punk scene epitomized by hometown San Diego label Swami Records.

“Our Love Is Different” was recorded by Tommy Garcia and Alex Jacobelli at SDRL and Thrill Me Studios, and mixed by Jacobelli at Thrill Me. The album was mastered by Nick Zampiello (Converge, Coliseum) at New Alliance. The track listing is:

1. A Somber Psalm
2. Malice
3. The Tie That Grinds
4. Hell in Heel
5. Our Love Is Different
6. Decline of the West
7. The Endless Wall
8. King of Ash
9. A Hymn of Horror

Antagonist Announces New Self-Titled EP

California’s Antagonist just wrapped up work on a forthcoming self-titled EP, which will contain six songs. New music is due out soon, along with official release details. Today the band has revealed the track listing will be as follows:

1. Hate
2. Violence
3. Dejection
4. Extermination
5. Tyranny
6. Scorn

The following press release was also issued about the EP: “Their most radical and extreme music to date, the self-titled effort lives up to their name. The new tracks are stripped-down and straight to the point, moving away from the melodic metal of past releases and the commercial metal that has watered-down the style. Instead, Antagonist now relies on their punk and hardcore roots to get their message of social injustice, intolerance, and corruption across. The six-track effort is the biggest musical leap Antagonist has made in its 16 year existence, but it still holds true to what they have always been: an adversary of the status quo, both socially, musically, and lyrically.”
