Ocala, FL’s metalcore outfit Wage War premieres a new song and video titled “Don’t Let Me Fade Away”, taken from the upcoming new album “Deadweight”, which will be out in stores August 04th via Fearless Records. Recording sessions for the release took place with Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, The Word Alive) and A Day To Remember vocalist Jeremy McKinnon handling the production duties.

Check out now “Don’t Let Me Fade Away” below.

States guitarist/vocalist Cody Quistad:

“We are so thrilled to finally announce our new album, Deadweight. We’ve put so much time, effort, and emotion into making what we think is the best and truest Wage War album. Lyrically, it’s the most vulnerable and honest we’ve ever done. Musically, we really pushed ourselves on the heavy and melodic sides of our band. “Stitch” was an insight to the heavy and now we give you a melodic answer, ‘Don’t Let Me Fade Away.’ This record was exceptionally hard to pick singles for because of how much time and work we put into making every song a great one. ‘Don’t Let Me Fade Away‘ was always a stand out from the beginning. It’s all the elements that make up our band in one song, and in a perfected state. We’re very excited for all that’s ahead!”

Akurion Recording Debut Album

Montreal-based Akurion has begun recording a long-awaited debut album. Vocalist Mike DiSalvo (ex-Cryptopsy) had this to say about the recording process:

“All the base tracks from the four of us are gonna be recorded live with only some overdubs added after the fact. We wanted a real earthy and deep sound from the inception of this project and we feel that jamming the tunes live in our room together, we will be able to capture the best feel and performance of these songs.”

The band entered the studio on April 14th with Alex Hebert (Ages, Empire De Mu). The album will be mixed by John Strieder of Magma Studios and will feature the great metal voices of Lord Worm (ex-Cryptopsy), Luc Lemay (Gorguts), and Jean-Marie Leblanc (Vengeful) as guest appearances.

Look for the upcoming new album to be released by the end of the year. Akurion’s base lineup consists of:

Mike DiSalvo – Vocals (Coma Cluster Void/Fireside Sessions/ex-Cryptopsy/ex-Infestation)
Rob Milley – Guitars (Neuraxis/Phobocosm(live)/Fireside Sessions/Torn Within)
Oli Pinard – Bass (Cryptopsy/Neuraxis/Vengeful)

Conflux Posts “The Keepers Of The Light” Studio Playthrough Video

Death metal collective Conflux has released a studio play-through video for the song “The Keepers Of The Light.” The track comes from the group’s debut EP “The Inception,” currently due to be released on May 3rd.

Conflux is a collaborative death metal project helmed by Chase Fraser (Continuum, ex Animosity, Decrepit Birth), Tommy McKinnon (Akurion/Neuraxis), and features an array of contributing members including:

Mike DiSalvo (Akurion/ex-Cryptopsy)
Derek Engmann (Cattle Decapitation)
Elliot Desgagnes (Beneath The Massacre)
Eran Segal (ex-Aborted)
Matt Mcgachy (Cryptopsy)
Hugo Doyon Karout (Beyond Creation)

“From the start we wanted to include contributions from other members. Then we got the idea of making it a sort of club where all the members can contribute their original ideas, voices and tone, and individual expression,” commented McKinnon on the synergetic nature of the project. “Associations like this in metal are somewhat rare, but they’re even more rare in death metal.”

Chase Fraser adds, “The Conflux collective is definitely an ambitious experiment and we couldn’t be happier with the results so far. We’re looking forward to sharing what we’ve been working on and can’t wait to record the full length later this year.”

The Ghost Inside Streaming Full “Dear Youth” Album

The Ghost Inside is streaming new album “Dear Youth” in the player below, courtesy of Alternative Press.

“Dear Youth” is out on November 17th via Epitaph Records and is The Ghost Inside’s fourth full-length album. It was co-produced by Jeremy McKinnon of A Day To Remember and Andrew Wade. Front man Jonathan Vigil explains the concept behind the album in a letter that he wrote to his younger self:

“Dear Youth,

“I’m writing to you now because it seems I’ve lost my way. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it started, but I know that it’s not like it was before. I’ve realized the more time that passes, the more we lose touch. It’s starting to feel like all I ever do now is lose touch with things. But not you, I never wanted to lose you.

“I wish I had something to blame it all on, but I don’t. One day I was there and the next I was here. As if I was dreaming and suddenly woken up. These days I’m always wondering if what I’ve done is enough. It’s getting harder and harder for me to shake this feeling of stagnance.

“So old friend I’m writing to ask you what it feels like to have the whole world in your hand? Where we could set out and do anything that we imagined. Endless possibilities way before complacence set in. To be honest with you, I’ve forgotten what that all feels like. There was a wonder about us that has long since faded. That sense of excitement, I miss it.

“Dear youth, will you show me again? I need to be reminded of those times, back before this began…”
