Lizzy Borden storms Billboard charts with first album in 11 years, ‘My Midnight Things’

– June 26th, 2018 –

It turns out that the time away from the music scene has not dulled the appetites of hard rock fans for Lizzy Borden, as his new album, My Midnight Things, has already left a deep impression on five different Billboard charts. These placings include #11 on Top New Artist Albums, #17 on Current Hard Music Albums, #43 on Top New Artist Albums Consumption, #46 on Independent Current Albums, and #148 on Top 200 Current Albums. Additionally, the album also made the Canadian charts – hitting #84 on Top Hard Music Charts.

“We live in a streaming world now, where everyone gets their music for free,” explains Lizzy. “But I want to personally thank all the great Lizzy Borden fans out there who shopped online or drove down to your local mom and pop music store and actually paid for my new album. You guys got Lizzy Borden back on the charts! And the fact that you’ve all embraced ‘My Midnight Things‘ in such an amazing way is the icing on the cake. Thanks again, and I will see you all soon on the ‘My Midnight Things‘ tour!”

Released on June 15th via Metal Blade Records, My Midnight Things can be purchased and previewed at: metalblade.com/lizzyborden

Having signed a new contract with Metal Blade on the strength of three demo tracks, Borden opted to produce My Midnight Things himself, with Joey Scott as co-producer, who also handled all the drumming duties. “I knew what I was going for and had doubts that I could find a producer who would understand that,” Borden explains. “My approach is very different than what is happening in today’s current sound.”

The album was also mixed by Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Adele, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (David Bowie, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Tom Petty), and is already receiving rave reviews, from Alt Revolt, Pure Grain Audio, and Royal Flush:

Borden paints a ten-song art gallery show and lets the listener decide what he or she sees on the canvas.”Alternative Revolt Magazine

“Catchy riffs and melodies that are sure to be trapped inside your head, bouncing around your skull for days to come.”PureGrainAudio

“The resulting creation yielded what is arguably the strongest vocal performance of Borden‘s career.”Royalflushmagazine.com

Lizzy Borden returns with his first album in 11 years, ‘My Midnight Things’

– April 18th, 2018 –

For decades, Lizzy Borden has been one of theatrical rock’s top front-men. And on June 15th, Borden will issue his first album in 11 years, My Midnight Things, via Metal Blade Records. With the hard n’ heavy tracks of the album opening title cut “Obsessed With You” and “The Scar Across My Heart”, the extended layoff between albums has not dulled his desire to rock and shock. “Although we have stayed busy touring all over the world, I missed being a recording artist. I look at the new album as a new beginning, I pushed the restart button on my career,” Borden comments.

The album can be pre-ordered (and the “My Midnight Things” lyric video can be viewed) via this link: metalblade.com/lizzyborden – where the record is available in the following formats:

The album was also mixed by Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Adele, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (David Bowie, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Tom Petty).

Borden is planning on hitting the road shortly. “I’ve already started working on the ‘My Midnight Things‘ show, and I really can’t wait to play these songs live,” Borden adds. “There are so many talented players out there in the world, I know I will find the right musicians to be on stage with me in my touring band in the new show. And just based on what is being talked about so far, it will be the best show I’ve ever done. I really do feel a new excitement that I have not felt in years. The best is yet to come.”

Charlyne Yi Accuses Marilyn Manson Of Sexual Harassment & Racist Remarks

Marilyn Manson has had a turbulent few months. First starting a feud with Justin Bieber, then announcing Johnny Depp would possibly join his band. Then he had to cancel nine shows on his tour because he injured himself when a prop fell on him. The seemingly infinite series of mishaps continues with the firing of his bassist, Twiggy Ramierez, after sexual assault allegations were made against his bassist. Past week, he had a meltdown on stage and left, just a few songs in.

Now actress/comedienne Charlyne Yi, was responding to news of Marilyn Manson’s onstage meltdown, telling past Saturday (Feb. 17) in a since deleted tweet:

“Ugh, don’t even get me started on Marilyn Manson. Yes this happened a long time ago — on the last season of House, he came on set to visit because he was a huge fan of the show and he harassed just about every woman asking us if we were going to scissor, rhino & called me a China man.”

Adding:

“I genuinely hope he gets help.”

In a follow-up tweet, Charlyne Yi stated:

“It’s so triggering to see people come up on the internet who have harassed you. And then when you talk about the incidents you become known as the person tied to the harasser. And that’s just your name from now on. It almost overrides who you are.”

Marilyn Manson On Firing Jeordie “Twiggy Ramirez” White After Rape Allegation: “I Did Not Divorce Twiggy As A Friend Or Brother”

Marilyn Manson tells Kerrang! regarding his firing of Jeordie “Twiggy Ramirez” White from the band:

“I did not divorce Twiggy as a friend or brother, because I still care about him greatly. But I can’t say that my musical relationship with Twiggy has been good for several years. My relationship with Tyler Bates on ‘The Pale Emperor‘ made something open up in me and I didn’t want to let negative energy back in my life.

There were other people in my life that I thought were my friends that I had to cut out this year, a lot of betrayals that surprised me, and I had to clean house and adopt and new attitude. People mistook my kindness and generosity for weakness. So I kinda adapted this attitude, like, ‘If you fuck with me, there will be consequences.’ I have issues with intimacy. That might sound weird given that we’re lying in bed together, but y’know…”
