Romero Kicks Off U.S. Tour Dates

The genre-bending heavy stoner rockers from Romero are returning to the road this weekend. Romero’s first tour of 2017 stretches across 9 U.S. heartland states in just under 2 weeks.

Singer / guitarist, Jeffrey Mundt comments: “We do this, essentially, because we love to…not because anyone is paying us a ton of money or as an obligation to sell a product.”

“This band is 100% self-financed,” Mundt continues, “so we can only do what we can afford to do… or what we can afford to eventually pay off. We work very hard and time is definitely an issue. By no means is Romero a group of careless, invincible 20 somethings living under the same roof. Those days are long gone. All four of us have separate lives, families, responsibilities & interests. It’s really tough for any of us to leave home, so we try to find a balance.”

Pissed On Releasing “The Hanged Man” EP

Advocate records is pleased to announce the release of “The Hanged Man” by Kentucky grinders Pissed On this coming March 17th, 2017. Forming in 2015, Pissed On hit the ground running as fast as it could, going on multiple tours and releasing a split with the Louisville band, Street Rat.

“The Hanged Man” is a primal 5-song release that will punish the listener with its piercing vocals and incredibly harsh instrumentation recorded by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, IL.

The band commented: “Pissed On is very excited to release our debut EP ‘The Hanged Man’ via Advocate Records. This record had drawn influence from a wide variety of acts such as Pig Destroyer, Discordance Axis, Swans, and Noothgrush as well as embuing the sounds of hardcore, grindcore, black metal, harsh noise, and death metal. Thematically, this record carries a narrative through 5 songs; a nihilist writes a final manifesto, in an attempt to warn the world of our true lack of purpose and the discouraging and sometimes relieving fact that we all die. It is an experiment in metal and melody and I hope you enjoy it.”

Want to get Pissed On live? Catch the band on these upcoming tour dates:

11/29/16: Springfield, IL
11/30/16: Milwaukee, WI

Down Returning To The Stage For Psycho Las Vegas

After cancelling some shows due to the outrage over the white power outburst and Pepper going full force with COC, Philip Anslemo recently addressed the future of Down at the Diamond Pub Concert Hall in Louisville, Kentucky.

“I think between myself, Patrick Bruders and one James Bower from EyeHateGod… We haven’t seen much of Pepper, because he’s obviously been busy with COC. That’s the freedom that rock and roll brings. So, yeah, we’re all kind of doing our own things but we always come back together because Black Sabbath, Trouble and Saint Vitus bring us back together, and that’s where we started from, you know what I’m saying?”

Down has now confirmed to play the Psycho Las Vegas music festival taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 26th-28th 2016. More info can be found here. There are no other confirmed shows at the moment.

You can check out an audio recording of some of the Anselmo question-and-answer session in Louisville by listening to the “Talk Toomey” podcast at this location.
