Crippled Black Phoenix Posts New Song “Winning A Losing Battle”

Crippled Black Phoenix premieres a new song entitled “Winning A Losing Battle”, taken from the upcoming new album “Bronze”, which will be out in stores November 4th through Season of Mist.

Check out now “Winning A Losing Battle” below.

Comments mastermind Justin Greaves: “Some songs depart from my mind into reality without consent. ‘Winning A Losing Battle’ is one of those. The track just barged itself into the world. It is also one of the musically unconventional Crippled Black Phoenix style of songs that keep appearing on our albums. The title says it all. We have been through a lot of adversity as a band in these past two years and even though it seemed that all is doomed at times – I/we never gave up or gave in. We just say ‘screw you’ to the people and forces that tried to bring us down. Crippled Black Phoenix win, and always will.”

Fen Posts “Of Losing Interest” Music Video

Vancouver progressive rockers Fen (not to be confused with the U.K. atmospheric black metal act of the same name) have posted a video for the title track of their fifth and latest album “Of Losing Interest.”

Vocalist / guitarist Doug Harrison comments: “The song ‘Of Losing Interest’ broke new ground for us. We didn’t try to shape it into some convoluted or grandiose structure. We just let the riff be a riff and do its job and we kept the dynamics fairly steady throughout. At one point I considered titling the song, The Grump, based on the fact that the lyrics are from the perspective of someone who detests social interactions and does what he can to either cut them short or avoid them altogether. Overall, the video is a lofi attempt to reveal what might be inside his head.”

The album’s track listing is as follows:

1. Riddled 03:55
2. Of Losing Interest 04:59
3. Nice For Three Days 04:04
4. A Long Line 04:43
5. The Glove 03:23
6. Drunken Relief 04:26
7. Light Up The End 03:34
8. Pilot Plant 06:03
9. Snake Path 03:17

Fen Releases New Video For "A Long Line"

Vancouver’s Fen has partnered up with The Ripple Effect for an exclusive preview of the band’s new video, “A Long Line.” Check out the video right here or in the player below. The following press release was also issued about the band’s new album:

“Following up on 2010’s breakout album, Trails Out of Gloom, the band return to their heavier roots with the brand new album, Of Losing Interest! Once again recorded at Creativ Studios with longtime producer, Mike Southworth at the helm, the band have crafted themselves an album that perfectly balances the technical virtuosity of heavy metal with the more down to earth tones of the early 90’s alternative rock movement. Of Losing Interest is available through Nail Distribution in North America, Code 7 in the UK, and Clearspot International in Europe.”

Fen will be hitting the road to begin supporting “Of Losing Interest” this month:

Sept 21st: Kamloops, BC – The Dirty Jersey
Sept 22nd: Salmon Arm, BC – Hideaway Pub
Sept 25th: Calgary, AB – Vern’s Bar
Sept 28th: Prince George, BC – Riley’s Pub
Sept 29th: Dawson Creek, BC – Rockwell’s
