Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Slaps WWE’s Baron Corbin At 2015 “Aftershock Festival”

Corey Taylor (vocalist of Slipknot, Stone Sour) and WWE NXT wrestler Baron Corbin were exchanging verbal assaults on social media in the weeks leading up to last weekend’s “Aftershock Festival” in Sacramento, CA. Yesterday saw the payoff, as Baron Corbin took a slap from Corey Taylor who was in the audience.

Leprous Posts “Slave” Lyric Video From “The Congregation” Album

After having performed last weekend at Metropolis Fest in Belarus with Dream Theater, Norwegian Prog metallers Leprous continue to promote their newest studio album “The Congregation,” which was released worldwide via InsideOutMusic.

Today, Leprous is pleased to launch the lyric video for the album track “Slave.” The clip was created by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight 13 Media.

Leprous’ Einar Solberg checked in with the following comment about the track: “I would say that Slave is one of the most emotional tracks of the album. The foundation is simple, but the content is rich.”

S7N Posts “Double Dealing” Music Video

Mexico City’s S7N (pronounced “seven”) independently released debut album “Fearless” back in 2013 and has opened for acts such as Havok, Napalm Death, and Ghost. Just last weekend the group played at the Force Fest Main Stage in Guadalajara before Brujeria, Overkill, and Judas Priest.

Today, S7N released a second official music video – this time for the track “Double Dealing.” Check out the clip below.

Entheos Featuring Former Members Of The Faceless & Animals As Leaders Performing Two New Songs Live

Entheos, the new supergroup featuring bassist Evan Brewer (ex-The Faceless, ex-Animosity), Navene Koperweis (ex-Animals as Leaders, ex-Animosity), Frank Costa (ex-Animosity), and Chaney Crabb (Systems) were at the 2015 edition of the NAMM Show in Anaheim last weekend jamming out to some new material at the Tama/Ibanez booth.

Doris Yeh Attends Asian American Film Festival, Chtonic Video Makes Festival’s Playlist

So far, Chthonic has released three music videos supporting new album “Bú-tik” (reviewed here).

Among the three videos, “Supreme Pain for the Tyrant,” which blended in actions, dance, and history, made it to the playlist of the International Asian American Film Festival.

Having just ended the trip to Japan, bassist Doris Yeh flew to New York last weekend for the film festival and press events to promote the new album. Check out the video as well as behind the scenes footage below.

Dead Earth Politics Named Top Metal Band At SXSW

Austin metallers Dead Earth Politics recently accepted the award for the Austin Chronicle’s Best Metal Band of 2012 at last weekend’s SXSW Festival. Though gracious in their acceptance of the prestigious award, Dead Earth Politics were nonetheless proud at having received the award over nationally renowned heavy hitters like The Sword. A video of the acceptance can be viewed below.

Dead Earth Politics burst onto the scene with the release of 2006 EP “Mark The Resistance,” followed by the much heralded “The Weight of Poseidon” full-length album in 2010. The video for “Artistic License” from “The Weight of Poseidon” is now playing here.

Ovif Issues Second Album Recording Update

Canadian band Ovif has issued the following update about the recording progress for an upcoming second album:

“Phase one complete folks!! We just finished recording the new drum tracks for our second album this last weekend!

“Mega thanks to Green Miles Studios in Montreal and Mathieu Marcotte from Augury for making this happen so easily!! Now on to guitars and bass!! Stay tuned!”
