Wayfarer Announces “Old Souls” Album Release

Denver, CO’s atmospheric blackened metal band Wayfarer will release sophomore album ”Old Souls” on June 17 via Prosthetic Records. The album’s cover artwork, which can be seen below, was created by Colorado artist and knifesmith Adam Gersh.

Recorded at Flatline Audio with Shane Howard (Martriden, Khemmis) while being mixed and mastered by Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Cobalt), “Old Souls” features seven tracks clocking in at almost 50 minutes long.

Asked how “Old Souls” differs from debut “Children Of An Iron Age,” guitarist and vocalist Shane McCarthy commented: “This record is a darker and much more focused effort from us. Writing the album was a very cohesive and involved process as a whole band this time around. It has moved further and further away from any particular genre trappings and stepped closer into what we feel our sound is; which is always shifting, always evolving. Life is too short to write music that already exists. We can’t wait to get this out there.”

1. Ever Climbing
2. Frontiers
3. Old Souls’ New Dawn
4. Catcher
5. Deathless Tundra
6. The Dust Lakes
7. All Lost in Aimless Chaos

Maestus Posts Full “Voir Dire” Album Online

Pacific Northwestern blackened doom collective Maestus now unveils the forlorn fruit of debut full-length, “Voir Dire.”

Comprised of Stephen Parker (Arkhum) and Jarrod Hyam (Sophos), with Kenneth Parker (Grst) and Cordell Cline (Dimensionless) recently enlisted to fulfill rhythm duties, “Voir Dire” was engineered and mixed during the Summer months of 2014 at Parker’s own The Wilderness Studio and delivers seventy-four minutes of heart-blistering grimness.

Comments the band, “Our residence in the often bleak Pacific Northwest helped shape the sound that reflects the band’s name, a Latin word meaning ‘sorrowful.’ Voir Dire leads listeners down a path which forces one to address their own inner turmoil.”

You can stream the entire “Voire Dire” album in the SoundCloud player below, courtesy of Decibel Magazine. Released via a joint venture between Domestic Genocide Records and Glossolalia Records, “Voir Dire” follows the release of the band’s 2013-issued “Scarlet Lakes” EP.

All That Remains Titles New Album "A War You Can Not Win"

All That Remains (ATR) has completed tracking on its forthcoming new studio album with mixing now underway. The new album, to be titled “A War You Can Not Win” is expected for release in September 2012 via Razor & Tie /Prosthetic. “A War You Can Not Win” sees ATR reunited with longtime producer Adam D (The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage). The record is the culmination of an intense writing period for the group that began shortly after their 18-month tour in support of For We Are Many.

“So we’re gonna release a new disc in the fall and it’s called ‘A War You Can Not Win’. We really busted our asses and tried to do some new stuff (like we always do) and we’re really happy about what came out of it. Some of it is pretty different and is REALLY gonna blow you guys away. Some of it is gonna sound just like what you expect from ATR. And I’m sure all of it is gonna make the internet have a conniption fit! Release is gonna be this fall and we’re already working on a co-headline tour to show some of it off! Get into it,” comments All That Remains front man Phil Labonte.

“A War You Can Not Win” will be All That Remains’ seventh studio album for Razor & Tie/Prosthetic, the band’s label home for over eight years.

The band is also set to play a few select dates this summer (dates below).

July 1 – Milwaukee, WI – Summerfest
