Child Bite To Begin Tour With Unsane Next Week

Detroit’s eccentrics Child Bite, who’ve spent much of the year road bound, return to the streets next week supporting legendary noise rock trio Unsane and experimental trio BigIBrave. The eight-date trek – which runs from December 12th through December 19th – follows Child Bite’s recent tour with Housecore labelmates Superjoint along with DevilDriver and will serve as their final shows of the year.

Child Bite w/ Unsane, Big|Brave:
12/12/2017 7th St Entry – Minneapolis, MN
12/13/2017 Cactus Club – Milwaukee, WI
12/14/2017 Grog Shop – Cleveland, OH
12/15/2017 Loving Touch – Detroit, MI
12/16/2017 Hard Luck Bar – Toronto, ON

12/18/2017 Great Scott – Boston, MA
12/19/2017 Kung Fu Necktie – Philadelphia, PA

Child Bite released their Negative Noise full-length last year via Housecore Records. The wild, forty-seven-minute assault was produced by Philip H. Anselmo (Down, Pantera, Scour, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Arson Anthem etc.), mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer), and is where the Venn diagram of Black Flag, Voivod, and The Jesus Lizard truly overlaps. The record won the #33 of Decible’s Top 40 Albums Of 2016. Hailed Punk News, “This is for the open-minded punk, headbanger, or weirdo. If you like your music a little on the ugly side, you owe it to yourself to check them out.” Added No Clean Singing, “Negative Noise possesses a brilliance and individuality all its own and is a refreshing breath of fetid air in an era saturated with a d-beat-only approach to punk and hardcore.”

Nervous Posts New “Perfection” Song Online

BrooklynVegan today premieres “Perfection,” a track off Nervous’ self-titled debut album, due out September 24th on Twelve Gauge Records. Give the song a listen below.

From Oakland, California, the band features frontman Jake Spek, also of Lewd Acts, and pounds out infectious anthems of anxiety and depression, described by BrooklynVegan as “brash, sarcastic, angry noise punk that should appeal to fans of late-period Black Flag, Flipper, The Jesus Lizard, or a newer band like Pissed Jeans.”

Nervous’ debut was recorded by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Loma Prieta) and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, Japandroids). The previously posted “Cog In The Machine” and “Good Morning” tracks can also be heard at this location.

Phantom Glue Announces “A War Of Light Cones” Album Release

Black Market Activities will release Phantom Glue’s new album, “A War of Light Cones,” this coming July 16th.

Phantom Glue’s second album, and first for BMA, was produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studio (Torche, Today Is The Day). Ballou’s connection to Phantom Glue dates back to the 90’s when he and Matt Oates were band mates in The Huguenots. Black Market Activities also comments:

“Boston, Massachusetts crushers, equally versed in sludge, doom, and noise rock, Phantom Glue churn out their self-proclaimed ‘avalanche of distortion’ with nods to Neurosis, Trouble, and The Jesus Lizard throughout. Colossal drums and bass charge forth while twin guitars cast evil spells. Exclaim! Magazine has hailed the band’s sweet, mountain-moving din as ‘a heated bastion of caustic riffs and unearthly girth.’ Decibel Magazine praised their 2010 debut as, simply, ‘a headbanger’s journey.’

“Beneath the music lies a heavy H.P. Lovecraft vibe, conjured through the supernatural lyrics and cover art of vocalist/guitarist Matt Oates. Oates describes A War of Light Cones specifically as ‘a nightmare/occult alternate history of Colonial America.’ A perfect sample of Phantom Glue’s sound and vision, lead track ‘Perils’ tells the tale of a trapper catching a creature whose pelt grants psychic gifts. Stream ‘Perils’ via The Boston Phoenix!”

The track listing is:

1. Perils
2. Captain Keith Pierce
3. Neurolizard
4. Bow in the Dust
5. Biocult
6. Arboreal
7. Test Pattern

Jar’d Loose To Release New Album "Goes To Purgatory"

Chicago upstarts Jar’d Loose have announced the release of their debut album, “Goes to Purgatory,” due for July 10th on Cassette Deck Media. Check out an exclusive stream of Jar’d Loose’s “Busted,” a track off “Goes to Purgatory,” posted today on Stereokiller. The following press release was also issued about the band:

“From a city of musical innovators, Jar’d Loose present the next chapter in their hometown’s history of heaviness. Jar’d Loose’s sound is all their own — thoroughly rocking yet left-of-center, totally new yet aligned with the spirit of their musical ancestors, from The Jesus Lizard to Entombed.

“At the core is teeth-clenching momentum — brutish, hellbound noise-rock driven by Pete and Eva Bialecki’s chugging freight train riffs and Phil Hardman’s bare bones beats, built for maximum headbanging. Leading the charge is frontman Eddie Gobbo with a voice like no other. Former frontman of The Muzzler, Gobbo holds court with a tormented, raspy punk snarl that’s one of a kind — unhinged and real, spitting lines like ‘I’d give my right eye / The left one stays with me / I’ll take the land of the blind / There I will become king.’

“Atop this foundation, the band takes startling left turns. Riffs transcend all expectations, making detours into unforeseen realms — what starts as a fist-banging dirt rock anthem shape-shists into an ebullient refrain or a haunting death rock dirge. It’s Jar’d Loose’s ability to rock out hellishly then pull the listener into strange new dimensions that makes Goes to Purgatory one of the most exciting debuts to hit the streets this year.

“Goes to Purgatory was recorded and mixed by Pete Grossman (Weekend Nachos, Harm’s Way) at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, and mastered by Carl Saff (Unsane, Red Fang) at Saff Mastering in Chicago.”

The full track listing is as follows:

1. Last Living Roach
2. Rotten Tooth
3. Appendage
4. Busted
5. Hell’s Mothers
6. Right Eye
7. Go Down with You
8. Coming Like a Nightmare

Look for Jar’d Loose on tour throughout 2012.

Whores Streaming Recent Debut EP

Atlanta band Whores has a new five-song EP out titled “Ruiner” on Brutal Panda records. In the group bio, the band members state “We were in other bands. Now we’re in this band. Soon we will all be deaf.” This pretty much sums up the band’s sound, which is neolithic sludge/punk rock that fans of the Melvins or Jesus Lizard will identify with. Stream the EP “Ruiner” at this location or below.
