GWAR‘s new album is being hailed by critics as the greatest sonic event since the Big Bang. The Blood of Gods, produced by Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Ulver, Steve Morse, Bozzio Levin Stevens, Mafia III), chronicles the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that oppose them. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of humanity from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are: a parasitic disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry! To preview and purchase The Blood of Gods, please visit: metalblade.com/gwar

New Album “Life” Announced By JoNo, Band Signs With Frontiers Music Srl

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the upcoming release from JoNo entitled “Life,” which will be available December 1st. Today, the band has released a music video for the first single, “No Return.” Check it out in the player at the bottom.

Pre-order “Life” at this location. Digital pre-orders come with an instant download of “No Return.”

The band says: ‘We are very thrilled and proud about our cooperation with Frontiers Music Srl, a label which is home to so many great artists we truly respect and admire. As a band, this is an excellent opportunity to reach the international markets we’ve been aiming for. We can’t wait to release the coming album, and of course hit the stage to be heard and seen by a wider audience, meeting with old and new fans. See you all out there!’

JoNo started as a solo project of singer Johan Norrby (hence the moniker “JoNo”), who has been singing, writing, and playing music in various bands and projects over the years. This is very much true for all the members of the band. Guitarist Stefan Helleblad is also a member of Dutch symphonic sensations Within Temptation. Drummer Nicka Hellenberg actually played all the drums on Within Temptation’s “The Unforgiving” and has an impressive resume involving bands and recordings. Both keyboard player Johan Carlgren and bass player Janne Henriksson are frequently hired for both live and studio sessions. Leo Olsson – also a busy musician – joined the band in 2015.

JoNo’s music is hard to pinpoint. Maybe it’s best described as melodic rock with symphonic and progressive elements, always based on strong melodies with bombastic arrangements. Dynamics and a contemporary, fat sound are important ingredients in the JoNo musical recipe. The music has been said to show the influence of great artists like Queen, Supertramp, Kansas, Journey and Sparks, but above all the band has received a lot of credit and praise because of their unique sound.

The track listing for “Life” is:

1. Sailors
2. Crown
3. No Return
4. On The Other Side
5. Downside
6. To Be Near You
7. My Love
8. The Magician
9. Trust
10. The March

Debut Album Details Revealed By Obscure Burial, New Song Available For Streaming

Today, Invictus Productions set December 15th as the international release date for Obscure Burial’s debut album, fittingly self-titled. The new song “Imago Mortis” can be heard in the player at the bottom.

Hailing from Finland, Obscure Burial are death metal incarnate. No memory, no past nor future, but the fertile blackness of one and only, the lawless king, son of the stillborn moment: Obscure Burial emerged from the lifeless womb in the year 2012. Not long after, their debut demo “God’s Abomination” was released by Invictus and the cult begins. Two years later came “Epiphany,” the band’s second demo, again released by Invictus. Here, the ruthlessly eldritch death metal receives a more advance and dynamic approach, and the fever surrounding the name begins to build ever further. Now, after a minor lineup change, the time is at hand for the band’s debut album: “Obscure Burial.”

Truly a magnum opus of all that’s come before within the enviable arsenal, Obscure Burial doesn’t alter the steadfast formula as simply perfect it. For true believers with ears and hearts wide open shall bear witness, upon one mere spin of Obscure Burial, that the ancient black/death magick is filthier than ever and effervescently captured in truly terrorizing 3D, raw and reckless and yet deadly fucking clear. The well of influence – Necrovore, Profanatica, Sadistic Intent, and early Possessed – is still being supped from, but here, Obscure Burial puts its own personal spin on it, piling on miles of malevolence and obscurity atop.

The artwork and track listing are as follows:

1. Lucilia Silvarum
2. Imago Mortis
3. Darkness Spawns
4. Transcending Deity
5. I Spoke To Darkness (Black Deserts Divine)
6. Necrophagous Ritual
7. Dweller in the Abyss
8. Dawn of Eschaton

New EP “Of Death And Delirium” Announced By Coscradh

Today, Invictus Productions sets November 24th as the international release date for Coscradh’s highly anticipated new EP, “Of Death and Delirium.”

Just last year, Invictus unfurled Coscradh’s self-titled debut demo, which subsequently went on to reap international acclaim. Here, Coscradh presented a new revelation in the Irish black/death metal underground, and yet another extremely promising newcomer fostered by Invictus. An auspicious start, with its ever-swarming sensation of hideousness and eldritch dread, but along comes “Of Death and Delirium” to eclipse that.

Every element of “Of Death and Delirium” takes its predecessor to more extreme lengths. Playing, production, songwriting, atmosphere: verily, this is the severest Metal of Death given fuller flight and more far flung into the great abyss. Gnarled and gnawing, possessive of a molten muscularity that always threatens to explode into chaos, Coscradh now finesse the towering creations with a keen attention to nuance; underneath, the primordial waters of time eternal swirl ever more dangerously and direly. Spewing forth three despair-ridden odes to suffering, violence, and madness, “Of Death and Delirium” confesses a cacophony of death metal majesty that soundtracks horrors seen and unseen – and within, Coscradh stand intrepid, in control but fatefully locked into a state of primal psychosis.

Titled truly, as both manifesto and momentum, “Of Death and Delirium” is Coscradh’s first grand strike upon the world stage. Feel its first wrath with the new track “Hangwoman” in the player below.

Cover and track listing are as follows:

1. Disappeared
2. Hangwoman
3. Saor sa hAnbháis

New Album “Sweet Death And Ecstasy” From Midnight Gets Release Date

Today, Hells Headbangers Records set December 15th as the international release date for Midnight’s highly anticipated third album, “Sweet Death and Ecstasy.” The album will be released on 2CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

By now, Midnight needs no introduction. Guided by the twisted muse of mainman Athenar since 2003, this Cleveland cult has been slaying the metal/punk underground with a highly addictive brand of lust, filth, and sleaze, subsequently building up a sizable catalog and garnering a rabid fanbase.

While there’s certainly fanatics for the band’s early EP work, it was Midnight’s debut album, “Satanic Royalty” – released to international fanfare in 2011 by Hells Headbangers – that entered the band’s name into the annals of “classic.” Never one to rush things (nor drop an EP along the way), Midnight continued its underground dominance with “No Mercy for Mayhem” in 2014, further perfecting the signature sound. Now, with the massively anticipated third album, “Sweet Death and Ecstasy,” Athenar and co. return with the darkest and most daring effort yet.

As a taste, check out the new track “Penetratal Ecstasy” in the player below, where a link to pre-order the album resides. The track listing for “Sweet Death and Ecstasy” is:

1. Crushed by Demons
2. Penetratal Ecstasy
3. Here Comes Sweet Death
4. Melting Brain
5. Rabid!
6. Bitch Mongrel
7. Poison Trash
8. Before My Time in Hell

New Single “Nuclear Alchemy” Set For Halloween Release From Watain

Prepare for Swedish Black Metal violence courtesy of Watain on Halloween as October 31 marks the international release date for the band’s savage new single “Nuclear Alchemy” taken from the new album set for release on January 5, 2018.

The band commented: “‘Nuclear Alchemy’ is the sound of an eager beast let loose from its cage at last. A song of violent fire, impending doom and of necks craned in ecstasy. A dissolving injection of power and force into the coagulated veins of Black Metal and a first glimpse into the abyss that shall be opened in the beginning of 2018. Meanwhile, stand by for conflagration.”

The “Nuclear Alchemy” single will also include an exclusive B-side: a cover version of Hungarian cult act Tormentor’s “Beyond.” The 7-inch will be released in two editions, which are strictly limited to 1,000 copies each! Pre-order them at this location or over here.

Debut EP “Pillars” Announced By Apologoethia

Today, Invictus Productions set November 24th as the international release date for Apologoethia’s highly anticipated debut mini-album, “Pillars.”

Apologoethia was spawned way back in 2012 as a side-project of J.B. in order to develop some ideas that didn’t fit both musical and stylistically with his main band, Spain’s Graveyard. After an intense period of composition, the style that now exists as Apologoethia was born. Sometime in 2014, J.B. asked J.F. to lay down some drum patterns that would fit with the riffs, the tempos, and complement the overall feel, atmosphere, and vibe that the songs needed and demanded. With all the material already prepared, shaped, and sharpened, it was time to develop the conceptual side of the band, creating some lyrics that would fit with Apologoethia’s atmosphere and dark ‘n’ macabre approach. After a meticulous search, L.O. was brought into the band, knowing that his writing and conceptual skills would work perfectly with the band’s aesthetics and purposes.

Alas, what results is a hysteric-yet-nuanced plunge into the realms of madness. Exploring the dark side of human knowledge, an introspection through different cultural, ascetic, and religious approaches mankind explored throughout centuries past, Apologoethia here construct ceaselessly roiling monoliths of diabolical metal mania. Comprised of four equally treacherous labyrinths/songs, Pillars unfurls its mysteries with a perversely restless ease, pitching headlong from lumbering doom chunder into frothing, ferocious South American-styled chaos and often back again (or in reverse, or both), all of it betraying a boundless vision heeding the darkest energies coursing through heavy metal. Within, stretches of clean-toned tension crop up, deliriously setting the stage for further onslaught to commence.

Rounded out by rich ‘n’ robust production, Pillars marks a none-more-auspicious debut for a name that shall soon be spoken of far and wide: behold the birth of Apologoethia. The first Pillar to be revealed is “De Aeterno Praesentia,” which can be heard in the player below.

The cover and track listing are as follows:

1. Pillar I (De Fundamenta Spiritus)
2. Pillar II (De Humanae Natura)
3. Pillar III (De Absentiae Vitae)
4. Pillar IV (De Aeterno Praesentia)
