Deicide Reveals New Guitarist Chris Cannella

American death metal stalwarts has announced that they have recruited Autumn’s End guitarist Chris Cannella to their ranks, replacing previous guitarist Mark English (also of Monstrosity.) A statement on the band’s official Facebook page reads as follows:

“When a band has been together for 30 years, change is inevitable. So with that said, we had to make that change.

“Our long time friend from Arizona, Chris Cannella recently started spending a lot of time in Florida for work. Immediately we began hanging out. We realized he was the missing piece of the puzzle.

“Together we are a musical match. We all work together and get along as if Chris has been in the band since it’s inception.

“Cannella has the experience of being a veteran in the industry as well as a guitar clinician across the globe-who lives and loves Metal!

“So please, let’s all welcome Chris Cannella as the official new guitar player of DEICIDE! We want to thank Mark English for stepping in during this transitional period.

“We will be seeing all of you across the world bringing our music to you more brutally than ever!

In addition to his work with Autumn’s End, Cannella is known for his role as a demo player for such guitar companies as Dean, Fender and Jackson among others, as well as being a member of the recently announced supergroup Bloodmoon Ritual, alongside former Exodus vocalist Rob Dukes, Dark Angel guitarist and bassist Eric Meyer and Michael Gonzalez and former Sacred Reich drummer Greg Hall.

The Black Dahlia Murder and Weyerbacher Brewing join forces with ‘Warborn’ Pale Ale

– September 20th, 2018 –

Warborn Pale Ale will be poured for the first time at Decibel Metal & Beer Fest (December 1 & 2) at the Wiltern in Los Angeles

Decibel Metal & Beer Fest: Los Angeles, presented by Metal Blade Records, continues its mission of pairing the most extreme minds in music and craft beer with Warborn Rye Pale Ale. Melodic death metal crew The Black Dahlia Murder have joined forces with longtime Decibel partner Weyerbacher Brewing – who brewed the official beer for the Philadelphia festival in March – to create the drinkable 5% ABV rye pale ale.

“We’re extremely excited to pair with Weyerbacher in the creation of Warborn Rye Pale Ale for our appearance at Decibel Metal and Beer Fest Los Angeles,” The Black Dahlia Murder front-man Trevor Strnad says. “Named after the closing track of our third album, ‘Nocturnal‘, Warborn is sure to be a bona fide hit amongst even the most discerning metalhead palette in attendance. The nostalgic Bolt Thrower-esque artwork was originally commissioned by the band in 2009 for a limited run of Warborn-themed long sleeve shirts that were sold exclusively on a European festival tour, and has triumphantly returned here almost ten years later to grace each can of this exquisite craft beer of the same name. The original painting was expertly handled by one John Sibbick, who constructed the iconic futuristic war scene that adorned the first edition of Warhammer 40k and subsequently Bolt Thrower‘s ‘Realm of Chaos’ album.

Painstakingly aged to delicious perfection on white oak and seasoned in death metal glory, Warborn will emerge victorious!”

Warborn comes in at an easily-drinkable 5% ABV, so you can drink it from the time that doors open until The Black Dahlia Murder takes the stage. Just don’t spill while you rage! Tickets for Metal & Beer Fest can be purchased at: decibelmagazine.com

Attila & Emmure Frontmen Beefing Via Twitter Following Attila’s New Diss Song “Callout 2”

With Emmure being one of the bands targeted in Attila‘s new single track “Callout 2“ streaming below, the outfit’s vocalist Frankie Palmeri took to Twitter (February 15th) to fire back at Attila mainman Chris Fronzak, tweeting:

Thanks for the shout out bud – I could of helped you at least write a scathing subliminal or something! @FRONZ1LLA – You also might be the first person in history to ever use the word ‘EMMURE’ in a song ??.

— FRANKIE PALMERI (@FrankiePalmeri) February 15, 2018

Y r u so scared to @ me bro?! ?? The rest of my band ain’t who you’re salty about…c’mon sen..?? https://t.co/mlTbj7RvSh

— FRANKIE PALMERI (@FrankiePalmeri) February 15, 2018

Fronzak has since replied tweeting:

You’re absolutely right. I LOVE your band and every member past/present. You’re the arrogant fucktard (in real life). Why didn’t I @ you in the song? Dawg come’on…. no one knows who tf you are ???? https://t.co/mvwHqRbfiV

— SLiME DADDY (@FRONZ1LLA) February 16, 2018

Palmeri firing back at Fronzak:

?? Arrogant? Bruh..the pot calling the kettle black is too real right now. https://t.co/QNgyVRohE2

— FRANKIE PALMERI (@FrankiePalmeri) February 16, 2018

I really don’t have the energy to beef with @FRONZ1LLA – Unfortunately, I inadvertently gave birth to his entire persona and image, anyone with half a brain knows this. Its funny for him to say “no one knows you” but uses my band to chase some internet clout and feed his kids.??

— FRANKIE PALMERI (@FrankiePalmeri) February 17, 2018

I gotta admit Fronzy, you pull off the Frankie Palmeri look even better than I did. pic.twitter.com/J1HztLuFfz

Attila About Being Officially Unsigned: “We Don’t Need A Label”

Attila announce that they are currently unsigned and are happy about it. Says the group’s frontman Chris Fronzak about that in the below video:

“We don’t need a label. We don’t need any interference with our music or the way we choose to release it. We can do everything on our own. We have plenty of connections within this industry to make this happen. The band have been in the studio recently working on their eighth full-length album and hint that a new song will be out ‘soon’.”

Hollow World Signs With Truth Inc. Records

Truth Inc Records are very excited to announce the signing of rising melo-death outfit Hollow World. The five-piece hails from Melbourne and has taken the Australian heavy scene by storm in 2017 with the release of its debut album “Exanimate” as well as gracing stages around the country with some of the best bands Australia, and the world, has to offer.

After playing coveted festivals such as the inaugural Thrash, Blast and Grind Festival in Melbourne, Blacken Open Air in Alice Springs and the Dead of Winter festival in Brisbane and supporting the likes of Fleshgod Apocalypse and Fallujah, Hollow World are set to tour Australia with Once Human in early 2018 and then are planning on setting their sights beyond Australian shores.

“We are excited to join a label like Truth Inc. We’ve always admired the Truth Corroded guys and their drive and now, to work with their label after seeing what they have done in the past with other Australian bands, we are very keen. They have impressed us with their vision for the future and we are looking forward to moving ahead with them as we grow our career,” says vocalist Ben Roberts of the decision.

Truth Inc are equally excited at the prospect of working with Hollow World and helping them reach their potential.

“We are incredibly stoked to have Hollow World join the label! They are one of the best bands to have come out of the frenetic Melbourne heavy music scene in recent years and have been as unrelenting in their work ethic as in the extremity of their music. Having firmly established themselves as a leader in the industry I look forward to working with them on the bands next album and see them grow internationally,” label manager Greg Shaw adds.

Tom G. Warrior (Triptykon, ex-Celtic Frost): “I Have No Respect For Record Companies”

Spain’s TNT Radio Rock recently conducted an interview with members of Triptykon – the occult/avantgarde metal outfit formed by ex-Celtic Frost mainman Thomas Gabriel Fischer (a.k.a. Tom G. Warrior) at this year’s edition of the Leyendas Del Rock festival, which was held past summer at Polideportivo Municipal de Villena in Villena, Spain. You can watch the entire chat in the video below.

Being asked about the recent BMG/Noise reissues of Celtic Frost’s seminal catalog, a campaign Fischer ultimately withdrew his endorsement from because of disagreements on the content on his liner notes, Fischer states:

“I had some disagreements with BMG Records who own the rights to these albums these days, but it’s of minor importance. It was a disagreement of what should be in the booklet and what should not. It’s nothing new in the recording industry that the record company doesn’t have the same opinion as the recording artist. But as far as the sound is concerned, I’m very proud of what we’ve done, most of the credit has to go to Victor Santura. I’m very proud of the achievement.”

“I have no respect for record companies. I started in the 1980s worshipping – I wanted a record deal – I worshiped record companies. They represented, to me, the key to becoming a musician, which was my dream. But after thirty-five years of learning about myself, I’ve seen the realities of the music industry. We are fortunate enough to work with our own record company, so we have all the freedom in the world. Because we have our own record company, we can work at a very high level and professional. I don’t like to work with companies who work on a lower level of professionalism. So I sometimes lose my patience when somebody doesn’t work at the level we are used to. I didn’t spend thirty-five years in the industry to deliver mediocre. If I wanted to release something, whether it’s an old Celtic Frost album or a new Triptykon, I would like it to reflect myself or the artist on one hand. On the other hand, it should reflect the highest level of quality possible. If somebody fails to do that, yes, I’m unhappy. I think that’s a very natural instinct. My name is on the record. If a record company fucks up, my name is still on there.”
