Bionatops Posts “Voices” Album Teaser

Nefarious Industries presents the noxious new “Voices” album by Bionatops, the outfit producing a boldly bizarre mutation of progressive, technical, and categorically odd metal. A brief glimpse into the mutant output of the duo’s new wares has been issued through a teaser trailer ahead of the record’s September 22nd release. Check it out below.

Bionatops is the brainchild of Joseph Spiller (ex-System Divide, Caricature, The Binary Code, Too Late The Hero), with the act serving as a way to keep himself free of having writer’s block, and to break the tension of writing serious music within his other acts.

While the music is designed to be thematically lighthearted and fun, the songs are still crafted with serious musicianship that doesn’t rely on editing tricks. Spiller, who records all guitars, bass, vocals, and other instrumentation, is joined by Jeff Willet (ex-Black Crown Initiate) who adds the drums and percussion to the Bionatops attack.

Dying Whale Signs With Nefarious Industries To Release “Last Moments Of Misery”

Nefarious Industries enthusiastically welcomes Georgia-based riffmanglers Dying Whale to the roster, and is plotting the early 2017 release of recently-completed “Last Moments Of Misery” album. Nefarious comments:

“Dying Whale is an unpredictable force of chaos. They have been dishing out their own breed of genre-defying and intentionally confounding doom-punk since 2010, hitting the road constantly and destroying clubs along the way.

“‘Last Moments Of Misery’ was tracked at Earthsound Studios in the band’s hometown of Valdosta, Georgia, with engineer/producer Lee Dyess (Mayday Parade, From First to Last, I Set My Friends on Fire), and features vocal contributions from Rich Weinberger (Gatherers), Jeff Hill (Machinist!), Kelby Clark (Divorce Ring), Nannen Gatchell (Smiler), and Victor Skamiera (Fero Lux).

“Unifying elements of metal, sludge, and hardcore with ferociously raw emotional delivery, Last Moments of Misery molds the listening experience and will leave you breathless. ‘Last Moments Of Misery’ will see release in the first months of 2017; stand by for a street date, the album artwork, audio previews, and more to be announced in the weeks ahead.”

Dying Whale is currently booking a U.S. December tour, which will be finalized and announced in the coming days, with more routes being lined up for early next year as well. The band consists of:

Matt Zagorski – vocals, bass
Josh Zorn – guitar
Eli Werth – drums

Plebeian Grandstand Finishes Work On New Album “False Highs, True Lows”

French black metal band Plebeian Grandstand just finished third album “False Highs, True Lows,” which was recorded and mixed by Amaury Sauvé at The Apiary Studio and mastered at New Alliance East. The record is due out this spring on Throatruiner Records (LP, CD) and Basement Apes Industries (CD). Throatruiner comments:

“Great bands inspire vocations, Plebeian Grandstand annihilate them. It’s hard not to laugh hysterically while listening to the band’s third album “False Highs, True Lows,” which destroys any desire to play music that intense.

“Formed in Toulouse in 2005, the french quartet never ceased to feed its insatiable appetite for dissonance and bleakness, slowly morphing from their former noisy, metallic hardcore to what could be the ultimate blend of black metal, sludge and noise. On the heels of their acclaimed 2014 album ‘Lowgazers’ and after countless shows in North America, India and Europe that forged their new rhythmical section, the band returned to Amaury Sauvé’s The Apiary studio during December 2015 to prove that their previous body of work was just a ladder to something even more suffocating.

“‘False Highs, True Lows’ is Plebeian Grandstands’s most accomplished effort to date; with guitars ranging between dry-heaving riffs, light-speed melodies and crushing sludgier parts, a terrifying, surgically savage drum performance full of maniacal blasts beats and martial rhythms, and the most angst-ridden vocal performance since the invention of waterboarding. Despite the fact that the record was tracked live and no matter how organic the spectacular production job sounds, everything seems barely played by humans.

“This is the culmination of three decades of extreme and forward-thinking music spitted out with the visceral, abrasive approach of their early days, and an out-of-this-world recording by one of the most intimidating, essential acts of our time.”
