Former Anal Cunt Guitarist Josh Martin Passes Away Following Escalator Fall

As first reported by Vanyaland, former Anal Cunt guitarist Josh Martin has died at the age of 46 following an escalator fall. He joined the band in 1996 before leaving in 2001, then returning in 2006, where he stayed until the group’s demise in 2011, following the death of vocalist Seth Putnam. He was also a member of such bands as Adolf Satan and Impaled Northern Moonforest.

“According to Providence Police, the man fell off an escalator from the upper level to the food court area around 10:45 p.m., sustaining severe head trauma,” reports WPRI. “He later died from his injuries. Officials say the incident appears to be completely accidental and there is no indication that the victim intentionally jumped or was pushed.”

WPRI did not cite Martin in its report, but Vanyaland has confirmed with the musician’s friends that it was him who took the fatal fall.

Two Native American Metalheads Pulled From Campus Tour After Nervous Mother Calls 911

Two Native American brothers from the Mohawk tribe, Thomas Kanewakeron Gray, 19, and his younger brother Lloyd Skanahwati Gray, 17, were pulled from a campus tour at Colorado State University this past Monday after an “overcautious” parent on the tour called 911, concerned they looked suspicious, in an outrageous incident of metalhead profiling.

The two boys, who were wearing Cattle Decapitation and Archspire tees, had saved up their money to make the seven-hour drive to the campus tour for prospective students only to be taken aside, patted down and questioned by police.

Thomas Kanewakeron Gray said police stopped him and his brother while the tour group was inside a gymnasium. He described the officers’ questioning as aggressive.

The video footage streaming below shows the brothers walking in a group and down a set of stairs when an officer approaches them and directs them to step aside, saying he and another officer are going to check the teens’ pockets.

The younger of the two brothers has his hands in his pockets, and police officers ask them to take them out.

At first, the officer visible in the video asks the Grays short, focused questions, including whether the brothers were part of the tour group and why they didn’t “cooperate” when others asked them their names.

“The reason we stopped you and talked to you is because someone from the group called and said you guys just kind of came into the group,” the officer said. “They also said they tried to ask you guys questions and you didn’t want to answer questions.”

The older teen quickly responds, explaining that they had arrived late for the tour and that his younger brother is shy. The younger teen offers to retrieve the email confirming their reservations on the tour.

“Yeah, yeah, do that, and then we’ll get you out of here,” the officer shown in the video said.

The “concerned” parent who called the police, reported that the two boys’ quiet behavior and clothing stood out. She said they were “definitely not” a part of the tour, described their behavior as “odd” and said they were wearing “dark stuff.”

The woman also repeatedly told the dispatcher that her concern could be “completely paranoid” and apologized “if it’s nothing.”

“I think it’s pretty discriminatory,” said Thomas Kanewakeron Gray, the older brother, is currently a student at Northern New Mexico College in Espanola and hoped to transfer. “Me and my brother just stayed to ourselves the whole time. I guess that was scaring people – that we were just quiet.”

The university’s president, Dr. Tony Frank, issued a lengthy statement on that matter, stating:

“Two young men, through no fault of their own, wound up frightened and humiliated because another campus visitor was concerned about their clothes and overall demeanor, which appears to have simply been shyness. The very idea that someone — anyone — might ‘look’ like they don’t belong on a C.S.U. admissions tour is anathema.”

Dr. Frank said efforts to contact the Gray family to make right have so far been not successful, and that the university would be reviewing its policies for how they manage campus tours.

Cattle Decapitation responded to the incident yesterday on Facebook by promising the brothers free admission to their shows for life.

You can watch one of the officers’ body-cam footage of the incident below. There is no audio for the first 30 seconds:

Taake Show Cancelled In The Wake Of Nazism Allegations

Taake‘s forthcoming spring North American tour has been met with at least one cancellation in the wake of allegations of Nazism being leveled at the group. The March 24th opening date at Le Poisson Rouge in New York, NY has been cancelled due to pressure from activist groups, such as this Antifa group.

The allegations originate from the Taake‘s mainman Hoest performing with a swastika painted on his chest back in 2007. He has since apologized for the incident and claimed it was meant to incite a reaction and was done as a joke. That said, lyrical content interpreted as being anti-Islamic by many hasn’t sat well with others either. Regardless, other venues seem to also be under pressure and are considering cancelling the band’s planned shows.

Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme Kicks Female Photographer In The Head At Live Show

Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme can be seen kicking a female photographer in the head in a clip streaming below, which was captured at KROQ Acoustic Christmas past Saturday.

The photographer – Chelsea Lauren – said the incident was unprovoked and that Homme was even smiling before he struck her. In the video, Homme can be seen walking past Lauren, then backtracking a step to kick away her camera.

“It was obviously very intentional,” she said.

It’s unknown if the 44 year-old Homme was under the influence of alcohol or drugs on Saturday. Minutes after the incident with Lauren, he pulled out what appeared to be a knife and cut his own forehead, producing a wound that bled for the rest of the performance. At one point, he called the sold-out audience “retards” before insulting the night’s headlining act, Muse. “F— Muse!” he exclaimed. He also encouraged the crowd to boo him, told everyone to take their pants off, saying, “I want to give you all a night you’ll never remember.”

Homme has since issued the below apology for the matter:

Armahda Premieres New Lyric Video “Queen Mary Insane”

Brazillian power-thrashers Armahda premiere a new lyric video for “Queen Mary Insane”, taken from the band’s self-titled album.

Check out now “Queen Mary Insane” below.

Explains the band:

“Once she had disembarked in Brazil with the royal family to escape Napoleon, the Queen screamed in fear of demons surrounding her. This incident earned her the nickname ‘Queen Maria I, the Mad’. There are rumors that relate her ‘madness’ with a mental illness manifested after the deaths of her husband and her eldest son, whom she allegedly refused to vaccinate against variola (smallpox) because of her religious beliefs. Damaging acts enacted by Queen Maria I such as the prohibition of manufacturing in the Portuguese colony and heavy taxation on gold from mining efforts served as a trigger for riots and prompted the Minas Gerais Conspiracy.”

Reign Of Fury Catches A Wanking Driver On Film

While out on the road touring, U.K. metal outfit Reign Of Fury came across something you don’t typically see everyday: a driver full on jerking off on the highway. After Reign Of Fury filmed the incident, the story has managed to break out into the non-metal news sites. reports:

Ross, from Horsham, West Sussex, said: “Obviously lots of bands have stories from being on tour but I think the ‘wanking van driver’ trumps them all. It was just unbelievable. It was clear as day what he was doing – there was no doubt left in our minds. The image has been burned into my mind and just pops up on its own – it’s horrible.

“We beeped our horn at him to let him know we were watching him and he just carried on doing it. He didn’t seem to care at all. It didn’t faze him in the slightest. He seemed happy to be being watched. It’s pretty disgraceful behaviour. He certainly wasn’t giving his full attention to the road so that is dangerous.

“I still can’t process what I saw, it was that horrible. He definitely did not have two hands on the wheel, let’s put it that way.”

Reign Of Fury released the “Death Be Thy Shepard” album last year, which is available for streaming in full at this location.

Trump / Clinton Twitter War Erupts Over Phil Anselmo’s Dimebash Remarks

It’s the Nazi salute heard round the world that just won’t go away. We thought news of Phil Anselmo’s yell of “white power” at Dimebash was finally over, but that all changed this morning when some dedicated Trump followers tweeted about the incident months after the fact.

Known for inflammatory tweets about other candidate’s wives and making headlines by retweeting less-than-savory sources, it shouldn’t come as much surprise that the GOP presidential front runner jumped on the opportunity to show his support for the 1st Amendment.

Things took an ugly turn when Hillary Clinton got involved, tweeting back a link to our own op/ed about the situation.

Not learning from poor Megyn Kelly, the Democratic frontrunner for the presidential nod probably should have seen this response coming…

The situation further deteriorated from there, with tweets we don’t feel comfortable sharing on a family-friendly website like You can head directly to the Trump Twitter page for more, if you dare.

In related news, Democratic contender Bernie Sanders will also soon be appearing in a documentary all about New York Hardcore.

Phil Anselmo Responds To Racism Accusations After Screaming “White Power”

The close of the Dimebash event this week was marred by controversy when Phil Anselmo closed out his set by throwing a Nazi salute and screaming “white power!’ at the crowd. Anselmo has since responded to video of the incident (available below) by commenting:

“OK folks, I’ll own this one, but dammit, I was joking, and the ‘inside joke of the night’ was because we were drinking fucking white wine, hahaha…

“Of all fucking things. Some of y’all need to thicken up your skin. There’s plenty of fuckers to pick on with a more realistic agenda. I fucking love everyone, I fucking loathe everyone, and that’s that. No apologies from me. PHA ’16.”

Not everyone is accepting his statement however, as Machine Head’s Robb Flynn has released a video questioning the statement about white wine. Check it out here:
