Grafvitnir Share New Song “Nidhögg” From Upcoming New Album “Keys to the Mysteries Beyond”

Swedish Black Metal band Grafvitnir have announced the December 15 Carnal Records release of new album Keys to the Mysteries Beyond. A promo video for the album’s opening track, “Nidhögg,” is available below.

The driving force behind the band is, and has always been, Occultism and the never-ending quest for the enigmatic emerald of Lucifer. Just like razor sharp claws of a Werewolf move and twists against whirling moonlit Night Skies, the ice-cold blades of Occultism will tear the illusion of the demiurg’s false Creation apart and fiercely widen the cracks and crevices to the ancient kingdom of Beyond.

With the band’s fifth album, Grafvitnir are back from the frostbitten shadows of Scandinavia to eternally ignite the concealed spiritual Fire of the descendants of the Serpent, and to obtain the ancient Keys to the Mysteries Beyond.

Track Listing

1. Nidhögg
2. Key to the Mysteries Beyond
3. Vargavinter
4. Crossing the Abyss
5. Eternity’s Glistening Black
6. Journey into Storms
7. Unleash the Storm of Nothingness
8. Eye of Lucifer
9. Whispers of the Primordial Sea
10. Glimpses of the Unseeable

New Album “No Cure For Death” Announced By Sect

Following the signing of North American hardcore group Sect to Southern Lord earlier this year, the band has since completed recording the second full-length, and label debut, “No Cure For Death” and with plans to release the album on November 24th.

“No Cure For Death” was recorded with Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. Check out brand new footage of the recording sessions in the player at the bottom.

Comprised of an international cast of scene veterans, who cut their teeth in that formative moment of political, cynical, antagonistic extremes, Sect unites vocalist Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead), guitarists James Chang (Catharsis, Undying) and Scott Crouse (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance), bassist Steve Hart (Day Of Suffering), and drummer Andy Hurley (Racetraitor, Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things). The result of these musicians’ alignment is a caustic, riotous, belligerent style of vile hardcore fed by a boundless well of socio-political vitriol.

Sect gets right down to the blast beats and breakdowns that fight it out in chaotic jams. The band cuts the shit and go for the throat with no time to waste, “because the Orwellian police states and irreparable social and ecological disasters we once saw off on the horizon are now on our front doorsteps, in full swing. And in just such a volatile, precarious moment as this for civilization, there is more reason than ever to keep lashing out at a world more suicidally-bent on its own destruction and the exploitation of people, species and the ecosystem itself, than perhaps ever before in history.”

For Sect, this is the purpose of hardcore as they know it, conveying an urgency that transcends age, credentials or scene politics, to convert desperation into real talk and action. Stand by for audio samples, videos, pre-order links and more in the days ahead.

The track listing for “No Cure For Death” is:

1. Open Grave
2. Day For Night
3. Crocodile Prayers
4. Reality’s Wake
5. Stripes
6. Liberal Arts
7. Born Razed
8. Transaction
9. Least Resistance
10. Avoidance Ritual

Check out the recording footage here:

Sect will take part in Not Dead Yet Fest this weekend in Toronto, playing Saturday, October 14th alongside Incendiary, Glory, Hotheads, Spiritual Cramp, Illusion, and Real World. The next day they headline a show in Buffalo with Acolyte, Old Ghosts, and Juggernaut. Additional tour dates are to be expected, but confirmed dates are as follows:

10/14/2017 Coalition – Toronto, ON @ Not Dead Yet Fest
10/15/2017 Mohawk Place – Buffalo, NY w/ Acolyte, Old Ghosts, Juggernaut

Kublai Khan Debuts New Song & Music Video “B.C.” From Upcoming New Album “Nomad”

Kublai Khan debutsa new song and music video titled “B.C.”, taken from the upcoming new album “Nomad”, which is out later today via Rise Records.

Check out now “B.C.” below.

Says vocalist Matt Honeycutt of the song and video for it:

“‘B.C.‘ describes the illusion of religious importance through history and fact. The lyrics illustrate the use of religion to extinguish indigenous people on multiple continents. Illuminating the use of religion to justify slavery and erase cultural identities and origins. The video depicts ancient people gathering around a fire in a display of dance and celebration. The link between us and our ancestors isn’t as far away as we would like to believe. In my eyes, gathering together for music, yelling, and moving our bodies are all core ways that we as humans release our inner energy.

Taking a step back in time to satisfy the primitive ways that we still share with our ancestors. Whether it be around a fire or inside a venue the base emotion and heart-pounding rush remains relatively unchanged through time.”

GWAR Announces North American Fall Tour

– August 15th, 2017 –

New Album “The Blood of Gods” Out October 20th via Metal Blade Records

On October 20th, GWAR will release a new studio album entitled “The Blood of Gods” via Metal Blade Records. In support of the new album, your Lords and Masters will leave their arctic slumber and return to the road to cause aural (and anal) devastation across North America. The tour includes a stop in New York City on Halloween as well! A complete list of dates can be found below.

The Berserker Blothar had this to say about the upcoming tour:
Humans, we are coming to tear your world apart with a live performance the likes of which has never been seen on this or any other planet! This album, “The Blood of Gods,” is the greatest thing since French toast. Just hearing these songs performed will result in an instant paroxysm of weeping, gnashing of teeth, and the uncontrollable voiding of your filthy bowels. There are only 5 VIP TICKETS available per show, that’s it so don’t wait.

Concerning the album: “The Blood of Gods” is nothing less than a sacred text chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of their great mistake, from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are; a parasitic disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry. Meanwhile, Sleazy P. Martini, the crooked entrepreneur who discovered the Scumdogs, and has always envisioned them as a sort of horrific boy band, finally managed to convince the group to write a hit song called “I’ll Be Your Monster.” If all goes according to plan, it may be just stupid enough to work!

GWAR LIVES MOTHERFUCKERS!
