We’ve seriously just never hung out. A lot of really crucial stuff was said and I made a new friend…We have a lot in common, it’s crazy! It was also nice to see all of the guys hanging out in the same room sharing stories and tons of laughs.

The past is the past and when you let go of certain things, forgive and move on…life gets a whole lot sweeter. Light The Torch Arises From Devil You Know

Light The Torch is a burgeoning new force within the hard rock/metal community which just inked a new world-wide deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The group, formerly known as Devil You Know, features the iconic Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage) on vocals, Francesco Artusato (ex-All Shall Perish) on guitars and Ryan Wombacher (ex-Bleeding Through) on bass.

The new full-length album is currently in the mixing stages and showcases the band in an all new light, as Jones delivers the most poignant performance of his storied career. With no more song-writing restrictions, the band are reaching greater heights trying out a plethora of new ideas, which you will all hear in the coming months. Follow the band on Facebook at this location.

Light The Torch will absolutely continue to perform Devil You Know songs and as stated below, the only way to legally continue would be under this course of action.

Light The Torch states: “After member issues and legalities continued for a year with no end in sight, we collectively felt it was time to put DYK to rest. Every effort was made to avoid this decision, but it needed/had to be done for the sake of moving forward. We will be forever grateful to those of you who shared that journey with us. With that said, we decided that this was a perfect time to write and record something truly different, something that reflected what we have been through and what we have become. Our new album is almost done being mixed, and there will be many more details coming in the following days and weeks. We are Light The Torch. See you soon.”

Devil You Know Covers Survivor Track “Eye Of The Tiger”

Devil You Know is now streaming a cover version of the classic Rocky movie series anthem track, “Eye of The Tiger.” This is a rousing, hard rock rendition to the Survivor hit song and is available below.

Look for Devil You Know on tour alongside Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach across all of Europe now through November 28, 2015. John Sankey (drums) states:

“One day when we were in the studio working on our new album, They Bleed Red, Howard Jones (vocals) turned up in a shower robe and started shadow boxing in the vocal booth while doing his best Rocky Balboa impersonation. It was so impressive that we immediately knew we had to do a cover of the infamous Rocky soundtrack theme. ‘Eye Of The Tiger.’ We had already been discussing the possibility of recording a cover, but had no idea what song we would do. In that moment when Hojo literally transformed himself into the Italian Stallion right in front of our very eyes we knew it was the perfect choice!

“Our biggest challenge would be adapting the original song into our own style, so we decided each of us must take on the persona of a different cast member to best capture the performance necessary to do such an iconic song justice. Howard lived and breathed the role of Rocky for a full week, Francesco Artusato (guitars) became as a slightly shorter Ivan Drago, Ryan Wombacher (bass) was the perfect fit for a modern day Mickey and I of course was a ‘way too Australian’ not quite as ripped version of Apollo Creed. We entered the studio swinging wildly in all directions with our respective instruments and there was blood, sweat and many many tears, mainly of uncontrollable laughter. Hours later we emerged victorious and super slow motion high-fived each other in classic Rocky fashion as we listened back to the sweet metal sounds of a reformed Survivor classic. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do.”

Devil You Know Drops Off Machine Head Tour

Devil You Know – the creative union of Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), Francesco Artusato (All Shall Perish) and John Sankey (Devovled) – will no longer be part of the upcoming European Machine Head tour starting on November 7th.

The band has issued the following official statement: “It is with much regret that we are forced to announce the cancellation of our upcoming U.K. and European dates supporting Machine Head due to business issues far beyond our control. We want to personally extend our apologies to the Machine Head guys and their entire camp and thank them for offering us such a great opportunity.

“To our fans, the last thing we want to do is let you down. We are devastated that we can’t perform for you all and be part of an amazing tour with one of our favorite bands. As musicians, the five of us have a job we love to do and we are ready to get onstage and do it, but unfortunately the cancellation of this tour is completely unavoidable despite every attempt by us to make it happen.

“The business side of this industry is very ugly at times and this is one of those unforeseen instances where the band has to suffer. To put it mildly, we are extremely agitated by this situation and right now our hands are tied, but we are going to deal with it and forge on! We WILL tour Europe and the U.K. as soon as we possibly can and make it up to you all.

“Sincerely, Howard, Francesco, John, Ryan, Roy.”
