Blade Killer Signs With M-Theory Audio

Los Angeles has been a breeding ground for some of the finest traditional heavy metal and in recent years a younger generation of bands have taken that ‘80s influences and created a new sound. Blade Killer is leading this revolution of classic metal, as evidenced by the group’s 2014 self-titled EP and countless shows around the Southern California area.

“We’re excited to announce that Blade Killer has joined forces with M-Theory Audio to release our upcoming full-length album,” states bassist Kelsey Wilson. “There is much to look forward to on the horizon and we couldn’t be more stoked to have the support of M-Theory Audio and all of you!”

“Blade Killer is another band I’ve been eyeing for some time and wanted to bring to the label. I loved the EP and feel their potential and commitment to metal is unparalleled,” explains M-Theory founder Marco Barbieri. “I’m pleased to publicly announce the signing and look forward to hearing the group’s new recordings.”

Currently Blade Killer is diligently finishing up recording nine new songs to be released early next year, but will also embark on a string of west coast shows next month supporting Bat, including an L.A. show which features the return of old-school thrash metal band Evil Dead.

9/28 Til-Two – San Diego, CA w/ Bat and Execution
9/29 The Union – Los Angeles, CA w/ Evil Dead and Bat

Devil’s Emissary Releasing New EP “Demiurge Asceticism”

Two years after the release of the band’s sophomore album, Devil’s Emissary returns with a new mini-album entitled “Demiurge Asceticism.” Pre-orders are now available and the EP will be released on the 9th of September, 2017 via Third Eye Temple.

To get a foretaste of the release, stream the track “Black Hole Meditation” below. The following press release was also issued:

“‘Demiurge Asceticism’ contains nearly 20 minutes of lunatic incantations, divided into three anthems praising the Harvester of Worlds – the great Swallower of Suns. A black metal of death, shrouded in the left hand path philosophy, is now carried on the banners of this ambitious Polish horde.

“The black metal formula, well-known from the two previous releases, has transfigurated into a death metal hybrid, but still honouring respect to the band’s roots. Low-tuned vibrations are raising the chants from the ancient tombs of this Emissary trio coming from the south of Poland. The Message of the slow-stepping Demiurge resounds with echoes of Australian, Greek and Canadian death metal roots.

“It is the manifest of heaven’s violent death – the will of those below as foretold in the Horizon Temple. Open to the pilgrims of fire. Become everything and nothing.”

Details Of New Album “Shades Of Humanity” Posted By Shadowside

Brazilian based metal act Shadowside revealed more details about the upcoming new album today. After several international tours and achieving international notoriety with the highly praised “Inner Monster Out,” in 2012, the band announces the brand new work “Shades of Humanity,” marking the official debut of new bassist Magnus Rosén (ex-Hammerfall). The album will be released in Japan on July 26th via Spiritual Beast, in North America/Europe on July 28th via EMP Label Group, owned by Megadeth’s bassist Dave Ellefson, and in Brazil on September 4th via Furia Music Records.

“Shades of Humanity” explores deep subjects such as depression, abortion, the Mariana dam disaster in Brazil and mankind’s moral values, branching out in musical ways nobody expected while still keeping their heavy guitar riffs and catchy melodies. The album was produced and mixed by Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, Hammerfall, Evergrey, In Flames, Dream Evil) and Henrik Udd (Architects, Dimmu Borgir, Dream Evil, Arch Enemy, Bring me the Horizon) in Gothenburg, Sweden.

“Shades of Humanity” features tracks such as “Unreality,” written by Magnus Rosén in partnership with guitarist Andy La Rocque (King Diamond), as well as go-for-the-throat scorchers like “Insidious Me”, modern-edged crushers “Make My Fate” and “The Fall” and “Alive”, track that is also going to be the album’s first music video. A sample of “What If,” one of the album’s tracks, can be heard in the player below.

The cover artwork (shown below) was developed by designer Douglas Jen of Furia Music, and demonstrates the heavy atmosphere of the lyrics, representing the several aspects of human personality, marked by defects and unfinished drawings that symbolize the imperfection of all people.

Check out the cover artwork and track list below:

1. The Fall
2. Beast Inside
3. What If
4. Make My Fate
5. Insidious Me
6. The Crossing
7. Stream of Shame
8. Parade the Sacrifice
9. Drifter
10. Unreality
11. Alive
12. Haunted (Bonus track for Japan)
