Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the addition of epic melodic death metallers Nothgard from Germany to its roster! The Bavarian quartet has signed a multiple album deal with Metal Blade and is right now in the middle of recording their tentative new album, to be released during the second half of 2018!

Comments Nothgard singer/guitarist Dom R. Crey: “We are really happy to announce the signing with the renowned label Metal Blade Records. For years we have had an eye on the countless and fantastic releases Metal Blade has launched. Eventually we can call ourselves part of this family, something that makes us really proud. We are looking forward to a great collaboration and cannot wait to usher into a new era of Nothgard.”

Dom is also presenting us an outlook on the upcoming new Nothgard album: “This exciting chapter will be initiated by a new studio album! In the history of the band we have never worked harder on an album. And to be honest we never had a clearer view on our approach of composing and on our sound. We listened to both, our fans and ourselves. We have clearly analyzed our strength and how to transfer this awareness to our material. Right now tons of work are still laying ahead of us and in the end our fans will judge the result. But let me tell you: As a band we are more than happy about the outcome so far and can’t wait to present it to the rest of the World!”

Founded in 2008 by singer and lead guitarist Dom R. Crey, Nothgard dragged along the winning ways since their debut album, Warhorns Of Midgard, from 2011. The high technical quality of their guitar work and the epic orchestration of their melodic death metal is exciting to fans and critics alike. In 2014, the band released another epic milestone of deadly metal, memorable melodies and influences from both neo-classical and folk music called Age Of Pandora. After the release, Nothgard finally signed to Noise Art Records who released the band’s latest album, The Sinner’s Sake, their most serious approach yet to enter the melodic death metal throne. On The Sinner’s Sake, deadly riffs meet playful, catchy lead guitars, while the epic orchestration arranges for a cinematic atmosphere that will bring goosebumps to your skin! Completed by Dom R. Crey’s raw vocals, Nothgard‘s sound is both stormy-spectacular and full of a sublime atmosphere. With The Sinner’s Sake, Nothgard set off into the most spectacular chapter in the band’s history so far. And the best is yet to come!

Satyricon Announces Final Tour Of North America

Norwegian black metal duo Satyricon has announced that they will be performing in North America for the final time this year in support of their latest album, “Deep Calleth Upon Deep.” Support on the tour will come from Inquisition on most dates and Panzerfaust on others. “We are excited to announce that we will be touring in the US and Canada. As our U.S fans will have noticed, we haven’t toured there in nine years. There are many reasons for that. I like America and I like Americans, but unfortunately touring there has been a difficult chapter in the history of Satyricon. I can’t guarantee what the future holds, but we did not go on the last record, so I am hoping that one final headlining tour can be a good way of sharing some electric musical moments with our U.S fans, whom we love just as much as all our other fans across the world. See you all soon. – SW”

The tour dates are as follows:

Second exclusive video clip revealed from Dimebag Darrell’s ‘Dimevision Vol. 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over’ DVD/CD

– November 3rd, 2017 –

Metal Blade Records recently announced the follow up to 2006′s poignant Dimebag Darrell video memorial set, Dimevision Vol 1: That’s The Fun I Have, dubbed Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over – another true celebration of Dimebag and how he lived his life. The DVD/CD set – which will include more raw footage, true gems and classic moments – will hit retailers on November 24th. The set will also include five previously unreleased demos, picked from a vast catalog Dimebag accrued since longtime girlfriend Rita Haney gave him his first 4-track in 1984. Dimebag’s personally-written lyrics, dates and notes on those tracks will also be included.

Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over continues in the same vein as Dimevision Vol 1: That’s The Fun I Have with the inclusion of hilarious video segments that will bring back great memories for any fan of Dimebag Darrell and his bands. Following up on last week’s release of the CPAP machine fitting clip, today, Rita Haney and Co. have revealed another clip – this time showcasing a few of Dime’s favorite costumes and funny personas. Watch the clip here: youtu.be/jZyjZ1UxAOo

Rita Haney comments: “Exclusively from Dimebag’s own Props Room at The Fortress!!! C’mon over and Getcha Pull off some new items…just posted! Here comes your chance to own a piece of Dimevision History! Props and custom-made costumes (by Dime’s own hand) available now in our PledgeMusic store only!!! Extremely limited!!! Red stiletto chair, along with many more items will be uploaded all weekend…So keep checking back – or you may miss your chance to own one of Dime’s favorite tees or hats!!!”

Pre-orders for Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over are now available via Metal Blade at: metalblade.com/dimevision. A PledgeMusic campaign has also been launched to support the release of the set, also acting as a pre-order. The PledgeMusic campaign includes an assortment of rare items to buy, including props and costumes that belonged to Dimebag and that you can see in his home videos/Dimevision volumes, rare stage clothing, and other merchandise. Visit the PledgeMusic page here: pledgemusic.com/projects/dimevision2

Going into making Dimevision Vol 2: Roll With It Or Get Rolled Over, Rita Haney worked in collaboration with Daryl “Bobby Tongs” Arnberger, who was not only one of Dimebag’s closest friends both on and off the road, but also worked as an official videographer for Pantera, Damageplan and a plethora of A-list musicians, from Slipknot to Dolly Parton, along with film editor Rob Fenn. After cataloguing hundreds of tapes, they chose 43 segments to create Dimevision Vol. 2.

“He had a unique way of seeing things, and he always lived with a video camera,” says Haney. “No matter where we went he was always capturing what was going on, and myself and others around him were filming a lot too. In putting out these videos I just want people to see the way he was, 24/7. What you saw on stage and backstage, that was how he lived.”

Haney adds, “There were some really touching, deep, heavy and emotional moments in the first one, where he’s talking about himself to the camera while in the shower. Filming himself like that was something he did a lot, and you’d have no clue until you’re looking through the tapes and come across them, and when you do the goosebumps crawl all over you. People that love and know Darrell are going to be touched by what he has to say, because it’s him telling you for the first time.”

Six Feet Under’s Chris Barnes To Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine: “You’re The King Of The Assholes”

Last night Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine publicly took issue with Metal Blade Records founder Brian Slagel over his version of how he unsuccessfully tried to sign Megadeth in the 1980s in his new book “For The Sake Of Heaviness: The History Of Metal Blade Records”. While Mustaine and Slagel appear to have since buried the hatchet, the manner in which Dave Mustaine called out Brian Slagel drew a fiery response from Six Feet Under’s vocalist Chris Barnes. Six Feet Under is signed to Metal Blade Records.

Barnes tweeted the following:

You sir are a FUCKING ASSHOLE.

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Slams Metal Blade Records Founder Brian Slagel Over His Book

Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has fired a shot at Metal Blade Records founder Brian Slagel over Twitter. Slagel was promoting his book, “For The Sake Of Heaviness: The History Of Metal Blade Record”‘, via Twitter, to which Mustaine fired off a heated response.

Mustaine appears to disclaim Slagel’s version in the book of a past offer Brian Slagel made while trying to sign Megadeth in 1984. Mustaine tweeted:

The section in the book that Mustaine seems to be referring to reads as follows:

“The only band that I didn’t get that I wished I had was Megadeth. It was between us and a brand new label called Combat, which was part of the Important distrbution firm that we’d started working out with.

Late in 1984 they’d decided that the whole metal thing was starting to happen and they wanted to get on it by creating their own label.

The first band that came onto their radar (and ours at the same time) was Megadeth. In the end, it came down to just a thousand dollars. We had offered them seven thousand dollars, but Combat offered eight, so they went with Combat.

With hindsight, especially given what Megadeth became, I’ve often thought, “Well, maybe I could have gotten a little more money together.” But really, at that time, seven thousand dollars was absolutely the most we had ever offered anybody.

Most of the stuff we were doing involved spending $1,600 to maybe $3,500, at the high end, to make a full record.

Seven grand was a lot of money. I remember Dave Mustaine writing me a really long, heartfelt letter saying how he really wanted to be on Metal Blade, but it just wasn’t meant to be.”

Brian Slagel has since responded to Mustaine, tweeting:

I’m so sorry if I got this wrong or offended you. I do remember talking to your camp at the time. If my memory is wrong again not intended https://t.co/QhkXjcczHE

— Brian Slagel (@brianslagel) October 24, 2017

Mustaine has since tweeted back to Brian Slagel’s apology, offering:

I totally forgive you, but you didn’t talk to us. Please take that out of your book at your next printing and good luck with your project ?? https://t.co/9N25ACQLmd

— Dave Mustaine (@DaveMustaine) October 24, 2017

When it was suggested that Mustaine, who had well documented substance abuse problems around the time, might be hazy on things, Mustaine replied:

Nope. @ellefsondavid confirmed it. Brian apologized, I forgave him, and we worked this out like grown-ups. Is that ok with you? ?? https://t.co/QZeQk7oeZs

New Release “Reforged: Riding On Fire” Announced By Iron Savior

Hamburg based power metal band Iron Savior was facing a problem: what to do when your early albums are not available regularly anymore but a re-issue is not possible due to legal reasons? Well, the decision was made to use this situation to give the material a sonic upgrade.

“We can’t re-release our albums from the Noise Records years in their initial form,” band boss Piet Sielck says, “but we are free to re-record songs from these albums. We’ve approached this challenge with a lot of enthusiasm.”

What Sielck refers to, became a 19 track strong double album now, titled “Reforged – Riding On Fire,” which consists of the best and most popular songs Iron Savior has released so far. These 2017 re-recordings come with a much more powerful sound of course, but the band managed the task to keep the songs’ character and feel. The album will be issued via AFM Records on December 8th as a 2CD digipak and double vinyl.

Demand is steadily rising: especially after the band’s latest album “Titancraft” (2016), which became the biggest chart success in their history, new fans wanted to discover Iron Savior’s catalogue. They’ll now get the best 19 tracks with an upgraded sound – of course mixed by Piet Sielck.

“Reforged – Riding On Fire” is a highly enjoyable treat for old and new fans alike. The track list is as follows:

1. Riding On Fire
2. Battering Ram
3. Brave New World
4. Prisoner Of The Void
5. Titans Of Our Time
6. Eye To Eye
7. For The World
8. Mindfeeder
9. Watcher In The Skye
10. Mind Over Matter
11. Warrior
12. Iron Savior
13. Tales Of The Bold
14. No Heroes
15. Break The Curse

17. Protector
18. I’ve Been To Hell
19. Atlantis Falling
