Thine Vocalist Alan Gaunt Passes Away

Alan Gaunt, the lead singer of British progressive metal band Thine, has passed away at the age of 40 after suffering from a heart attack, it has been revealed. Alan also worked as a video editor and producer, collaborating with a number of other bands including My Dying Bride, who posted the following message on their Facebook page:

“In the early hours of Tuesday morning we were informed Alan had passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Due to personal reasons we were asked not to post any tributes but we can now. Results today rule that this was due to a heart attack. He was 40yrs old. He was a good friend of the band and helped on more than one video project they did. He will be sadly missed.

“Bye for now Alan.”

Thine released three albums, beginning with 1998’s, “A Town Like This,” followed by the 2002 release, “In Therapy” and most recently, 2014’s, “The Dead City Blueprint.”

Cancer Bats Premiere New Music Video For Previously Unreleased Track “Inside Out” – Announce Eastern Canada Tour

Cancer Bats premiere a new music video for the band’s previously unreleased b-side track “Inside Out” streaming for you via YouTube below. That song was recorded during the sessions for their latest effort, “The Spark That Moves“.

Comments frontman Liam Cormier of the track:

“‘Inside Out‘ is such a gnarly beast of a song, that we all knew it would make for a rad track to release later and keep the vibe of ‘The Spark That Moves‘ going!”

Nasty Savage Bassist Richard Bateman Passes Away

Florida thrash metal veterans Nasty Savage has announced that their bassist, Richard Bateman, suffered a heart attack and passed away on Wednesday, September 5th.

A message from the band states: “It is with deep sadness to announce Richard Bateman has passed away today. We are all devastated. God Bless his family, God Bless Richard Bateman. RIP Brother.”

Guitarist David Austin issued the following statement: “My longtime friend Richard Bateman has passed away from a heart attack, absolutely devastated, extraordinary bass playing that he did with Nasty Savage especially Penetration Point, I can’t even put it into words, absolutely devastated. I hope the metal community will surround his family with open arms and give them the comfort that they need at this moment and time, I’m completely shocked. Love you Richard may he rest in peace, genuine loving person and extraordinary bass player to say the least.”

Bateman had four stints with the band, beginning in 1988 until the band’s initial dissolution two years later. He returned in 1998, then again from 2002 until 2012, then finally returned in 2016.

Nashville Pussy Releasing “Ten Years Of Pussy” Compilation

Nashville Pussy is gearing up to release new CD compilation “Ten Years Of Pussy” on SPV/Steamhammer. This 22 track monster takes the best studio tracks of the last decade and even throws in a live bonus EP taken from a blistering 2009 show at Nottingham.

Nashville Pussy hails from Atlanta, deep in the heart of “the BBQ nation” and sounds like ACDC slap boxing with Lynyrn Skynyrd while Motorhead watches. Formed by husband and wife guitarists Blaine Cartwright and Ruyter Suys, Nashville Pussy rose out of the ashes of Cartwright’s former band Nine Pound Hammer in 1997. Since then the group has played thousands of gigs in 40 different countries.

The Exploited Posts Teaser For Upcoming Re-Releases

After having to cancel all scheduled tour dates due to singer Wattie Buchan being hospitalized after a heart attack, The Exploited is now giving fans a little teaser for an upcoming series of re-releases.

The special editions of “The Massacre” (1990), “Beat The Bastards” (1996) and “Fuck The System” (2003) will be released on March 14th, 2014 via Nuclear Blast.

The Exploited’s Wattie Buchan Suffers Heart Attack On Stage

The British punk legends in The Exploited, who signed to Nuclear Blast earlier this year, are forced to cancel upcoming tour dates with label mates Hatebreedand stop all activities till May 2014.

Singer Wattie Buchan suffered a heart attack on stage during the band’s concert last night (Thursday, February 13th) in Lisbon, Portugal during the “Tour Of Chaos” with Hatebreed and Napalm Death. The Exploited issued the following statement:

“We are sorry to say that due to a severe illness that Wattie can’t continue with the tour. He will be in hospital for at least a week. Thanks for all the get-well messages. Much appreciated. Regards.”

Ministry’s latest album “From Beer To Eternity” is out now, and the band has released another making-of episode showcasing the creation of the record. Check out this new clip below.

“From Beer To Eternity” features the final studio recordings by long-time Ministry collaborator guitarist Mike Scaccia, who died in December from a heart attack suffered three days after rough tracks for the album had been completed.

Second LP "Heart Attack" From Space Vacation To Be Released Worldwide

King’s X Updates Health Condition Of Drummer Jerry Gaskill

King’s X posted an update on the health of drummer Jerry Gaskill, who suffered a heart attack this past weekend. The following was posted on the band’s Facebook page:

Update on Jerry: Jerry is still on a ventilator while also dealing with pneumonia in both lungs but is recovering. Doctors say it’s a slow process but things are headed in the right direction. Good news!

More news on Jerry’s condition will be posted as more information becomes available.
