Khazaddum Premieres New Song “Masters of the Plains” From Upcoming New Album “Plagues Upon Arda”

“Plagues Upon Arda” is Khazaddum’s sophomore release. Following the 2015 “In Dwarven Halls” EP, the band’s forthcoming full-length album offers a deeper glimpse into the tragic world of J.R.R. Tolkien. Returning with its signature “Dwarven Death Metal” assault, the Milwaukee group has taken this concept to another level. Incorporating symphonic orchestration throughout the album in order to illuminate the epic scale of the story told within, the nine-track opus delivers a barrage of crushing death metal that bears witness to the harrowing tales of the denizens of Middle-Earth.

“Plagues Upon Arda” was recorded at No Passenger Studio by Spencer Fox and Trae Titus and will be released on August 19, 2017.

Check out now “Masters of the Plains” below.

Scour Streams Entire Debut Self-Titled Album

Scour – the extreme metal collaboration uniting Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint etc.), John Jarvis (Pig Destroyer), Derek Engemann (Cattle Decapitation), Chase Fraser (Continuum, former Animosity, Decrepit Birth), and Jesse Schobel (Strong Intention) – will unleash a self-titled debut tomorrow via Housecore Records.

In advance of its release, the full record has come online for early streaming today. Check out the harrowing strain of blackened, grind-infused mayhem that is “Scour” below. The band’s six-track, self-titled debut was mixed by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, Cobalt, Khemmis).

Said Anselmo of the release, “Doing the Scour project was a blast. The way I saw it, the songs are short, and extremely straight-forward, so I didn’t want to clutter them up with too much. I had to pick particular lyrics that seemed provocatively absurd enough, and to perform them as raw as deemed fit. I hope all the true extreme music lovers enjoy the stuff as much as I did performing it. I haven’t done this style of since my days with Christ Inversion from 1994 – 1997, and I know some people might know of bands I’ve done like Eibon or Necrophagia in the early 2000s. Doing Scour was a cool re-visit. A huge cheers to all the awesome collaborators on this project.”

Shadow Age Streaming “Silaluk” New EP

Shadow Age’s “Silaluk “EP is officially due out May 19th, but now the tracks are available online head of time via a Bandcamp stream. 6131 Records comments:

“Shadow Age emerged from Richmond, Virginia, playing cold, darkly melodic post-punk, and offering an astoundingly cohesive debut EP that owes more to the sounds of Manchester’s industrial sprawl than Richmond’s southern charms.

“While Shadow Age are certainly indebted to the UK post-punk classics, the band’s debut release originates from an even more unlikely place than where they call home. While spending a harsh winter working on a fishing boat in Alaska, singer/guitarst Aaron Tyree was injured. He then spent four harrowing days waiting out an ice storm so that he could be flown out of Dutch Harbor for medial attention. During this time Tyree wrote the title track of Shadow Age’s debut EP,

“Taking it’s name from the Inuit word for storm, ‘Silaluk’ is three uncompromisingly dark tracks that swallow the listener in shimmering guitars, pulsating synths, and haunting vocals. Tyree’s affecting voice paints a desperate picture that is perfectly layered amongst the sheets of reverb and angular guitar lines. Shadow Age offer more than just intense atmosphere, though. The band is adept at crafting a hook and despite the EP’s brooding tone, some of the driving beats found on ‘Silaluk’ are arguably danceable. With disparate influences converge with stunning cohesion, ‘Silaluk’ is an impressive debut that hints at Shadow Age’s potential.”
